We finished a swap into a 93 F150 prerunner at Lenger Racing on time for Thanksgiving week at Glamis. Our customer already had a power steering pump and we used an LS alternator so it would be available in the parts store. AC pump is installed, but most of the vintage air system is still on the shelf until spring

My 2019 6.2 f-250 rear wheel drive with a E85 tune from 5 start with a cai 6 speed destroyed the stock 7.3’s. I raced 3 of them with the 10 speeds and it wasn’t even close. My 6.2 250 pulls the Chevy 6.2 1500 by a few feet.

This is the most aggravating swap process, Everything seems backwards Its cheaper than the 408 stroker at (10000) But I mean come on 7000 7.3 That's a great price by the way 3500 for a control pack that's just a stupid price by the way Or You can go Indy And spend a whole lot more In 2 years ford can't build a control pack Or the accessories are these people serious. I would love to modernize my 78 ford f250 4x4 but at this rate it's just not worth the hassle Before we say go coyote, that is NOT an option I even care about. This truck is for pulling a boat, small trailer, and is lifted with 37 inch tire I want the torque.

@@j.peterson210 Spent over a year researching it (I have a 70 fastback) and talking to ford/holley EFI. This engine is rear sump and the pickup is built into the pan. The oil pump is also in the rear. IF the aftermarket were to come out with swap pans they would somehow have to move all that to the front/midsump to work with the stock mustang suspension. Also the oil pump is computer controlled, and pressure changes with other variables. So right now, barring someone coming out with an aftermarket solution for all that, cannot be done with stock crossmember/mustang front layout. Given that those are the only likely swap candidate with those requirements, I think this is unlikely. It is narrower than an FE slightly (9.6x deck height versus 10.1x) but the heads are bigger. The intake runners protrude out of the head and angle up to a flat flange which means a traditional carb-style intake (whether for EFI or not) cannot be used which eliminates the possibility of having a functional/correct-appearing shaker hood.

Cannot use the 10 speed with the 460. No standalone controller for the 10 speed. US shift is working on one but no eta. They can use the 10 speed with the 7.3 because it's factory pcm can control it.

Very cool! Can FP give a date on control pack? Back in 2009 they promised pack for 3.5 eco. I waited until early 2012 with next month, spring summer fall etc then decided to do it on my own. I heard they do not have manpower for the 7.3 control pack so who knows when it will show. Could be years. There are quite a few 7.3’s running now but using non ford parts. Same place that did them for 6.2 doing the 7.3 but one has to “be somebody” to get one.

A week ago I ask FR about control pac and they told me “Unfortunately, the control pack is not yet available. Michigan got hit really hard with restrictions resulting from COVID, so unfortunately our engineering/development process slowed dramatically. We are anticipating a summer release of the control pack currently. “
