All 3-8 teams are not equal, look at the energy of the Browns and the energy of the Jets. The Browns fans and players brought the type of energy regardless of record you are supposed to bring towards playing your division rival. The more it snowed the harder both teams battled. They were throwing passes and kicking field goals and you couldn't see the ball. At one point the Steelers defense were throwing snowballs at each other after taking the ball away from the Browns and here come the Browns battling right back. Fans in the stands with no shirts on. That was one of the best Thursday night games in a very long time and fun to watch. The only person who had complaints was George Pickens. They should ship his 🤬 to the Jets with that kinda attitude. The Browns played for each other, the fans and for pride. They may not win another game but they put on a show out there last night.

Crazy game last night. In all my years of watching the NFL, I never knew a team could decline the opposing team's penalty and then immediately undecline it like the Steelers did on the Browns 3rd and 2 play with less than two minutes left. I always assumed once a coach tells the ref if they want to decline the penalty or not, then that's it, they can't go back and say "Oh, wait we're changing our mind".

I am not certain of the rule, but If there was confusion, miscommunication or any correction to the spot/down and distance/clock etc. afterwards (and it looked like perhaps there was at least some confusion), they will allow the coach to change their decision. Not sure if that is what happened there, but I have seen that before a number of times.

Jameis was the backup. He only became 3rd string the game Winston got injured due to many calling for him top play. In that game DTR got hurt and Jameis was the emergency QB.

If they would go back to what they did to get to the playoffs in 2020 and last year, they don't necessarily need a savior-type QB right now; Baker was very solid in 2020 and Flacco was...fine? last year. With that defense and running game, they've had more success than any other point in the franchise with competent QB play. Just bring in someone who can throw in the general direction of receivers and not be a turnover machine (which is why I'd worry about Winston beyond this year), and they can be decent enough while a QB develops.

I still don't get the sour grapes by Pickens as someone who isn't a fan of anyone in that division. If you're the better team show up. Don't be surprised by the weather when you play all your divisional rivals outside, 2 of which reside in the state of Ohio. That's 4 games a year let alone postseason where it might snow. As a Steelers fan, I place a bunch of the blame on Coach Tomlin. When you have a very good defense in a snow game, why go for it on fourth and one in your own territory? When you need a big pass play in the fourth quarter, why have Justin Fields toss it rather than Russell Wilson who had a very good day passing and everyone knows Justin has accuracy problems? But Tomlin will make up for it.

Cherry-picking a game's worth of stats ignores Watson's - at best - thoroughly mediocre numbers that had most of Cleveland's fanbase begging for him to be benched.
