Japan can't get enough of the PS4 but why 2018? Was it Monster Hunter? Or is it a sign of a general shift back to consoles for a country that pretty much gave up on them?
What do you think? Is Japan BACK to consoles? Tell me how you feel in the comments!

I spent $180 on a decent espresso coffee machine, and $20 on an electric grinder. the bag of beans don't cost as much as I thought they would and they last a long time. I never drink coffee out and I save lots of money because of it, besides most places burn the coffee or the milk. or it's too weak or tastes bizarre. every time I make my own espresso at home I can't recall a time where i didn't think: "worth it". it's a magical experience every time. and your guests will love you for it.

Insightful and great video! I'm very facinated by the games-japan relationship. On the one hand, they make amazing deep, often complicated games like persona... On the other, mobile gaming is huge there too. It doesn't add up. Phonegames while they can be fun and rewarding, are often so shallow and have stupid moneyhooks or just inferior gameplay and controls than any other medium. I'm SO HAPPY to see more games coming from Japan, yakuza and neir and these great gems no one else could make. I'm up for more of these topics, great dude. Also, as a Westerner... Might be boring for you but I love to see life in Japan in general, like trips to malls or whatever really. Keep it up, always makes me happy to see you upload stuff!

I didn't get a PS4 until the Pro was released. Didn't have anything to do with specs, the time just seemed right. I still used the PS3 up until then and actually spent quite a bit of gaming time on the Wii U with Hyrule Warriors. In my opinion buying a new console gets easier to avoid now that gaming has come so far. Alot of good retro games that could always be revisited.

Lol I suscribed to you because the amiibo hunt days, and this is the first time I make a comment :P but I find pretty weird what you said, though the ps4 was a king on there. I don't see console gaming dying yet, as much as people like mobile and pc there is just something especial while playing on console. I've been playing on PC since 2011, but never got tired of playing on console, sometimes you just want to play in your especial place, idk, sometimes I'm just not in the mood for pc gaming. This is just me ofc.

The most important change to the new controller is that it can connect over the USB cable when the old one would only charge while plugged in. This was important for me when I had an external USB 3.0 hard drive near it, which can interfere with a Bluetooth connection. It also reduces input lag, which is quite nice as well.

I had the privilege of visiting all of Japan last year and being able to experience the Sega/Taito multi-level arcades and Esports Square in Akiabara was so satisfying. I'm glad the resurgence of consoles in Japan is currently happening, but I hope it doesn't diminish the arcade scene, especially since Japan is the only countries that still has a thriving scene. Hopefully Japanese devs will still produce arcade cabinets for select titles, but if the return on investment is not feasible due to high production cost. When I visited Thailand, their arcades had cabinets that looked and feeled of a traditional Mame machine, but we're powered by PlayStations.

I mostly don't like mobile games, there are some that I've played like the Magic card game that feels at home on a smart device, others like Dead Space years ago on my Ipad that I thought were not bad. But those free to play mobile games with micro transactions I hate those. I'll take a console over a phone everyday there's no comparison of the quality of most games. The first "tablet" that I really enjoy playing on is the Switch. But I also love my PS4 and Xbox One I think they are all 3 amazing devices in their own right.

But its a super front loaded game tho, so wont a evergreen that will still sell PS4 tru holidays just like Splatoon and other Nintendo software is doing, its already dropping hard on weekly charts and i dont expect anything like it until maybe KH III (not on the same level tho, but will boost PS4 sales a bit for a week or two)

Andrei3253 its mid march, still no 2 on chart only been outsold by fist of north star (new release) and sold 2 million physical and 600k first week digital on psn for total 2.6m... considering there is only 6 million ps4 in japan the game is a very huge success. Of course sony have no franchise to milk like nintendo. Its understandable. But MHW is already about to outsold MH4U in coming weeks in japan. Heck if we add digital MHW probably outsold it weeks ago and is closer to Freedom unite.

It is a sucess story more worldwide than its in japan, where is sitting as expected. Besides on todays weekly sales, the game already droped like 60%, and splatoon gained another 23% (with a new bundle with huge shortages) and its again at the top spot besides the new Kriby game. I never said it was not a sucess, just that its going to be pretty front loaded and wont have the legs that other Nintendo games are having even things like 1,2 switch, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (outselling FigtherZ) and ARMS still have legs just because the nature of the console. As much as i dont care about monster hunter honestly, i think its just a matter of when for the costume made version for Nintendo Switch.
@RainingFlow19
@RainingFlow19 6 жыл бұрын
Andrei3253 true regarding legs of nintendo games. They know how to milk their mascots. I disagree on its not that big of a deal for MHW to sell in japan. PSP and 3DS had over 20million userbase to support it while ps4 only had 6m. That is a fking amazing software attach rate for a console nobody in japan give a damn.

I think that coffee brand has its origin in a famous old school japanese kissaten (coffee house). I use to go to them in tokyo. These places tend to prefer dark roasts - heavy and rich type of coffee. If it’s too strong, I would add more water to bing our other aspects of the coffee flavor.

I bought a Steam Link when it was on big sale. After some testing, I've found that it does everything I would have wanted a PS4 to do... except maybe Kingdom Hearts 3. That being said, I would say that consoles have lost a lot of their "plug and play" appeal over the years. You need to update the system. You need to make an account. You need to download the games. I was very frustrated when trying to set up our Wii U because it was stuck in a catch-22: I needed online connectivity to log in, but to get online I first needed to update the system, which required that I log in. After some googling, I found out that I can just skip the log-in process by FAILING the login and THEN selecting "do this later", which would let me proceed to updating the system without having a user account.

Nicolle my objection is that many consoles are mobile. and even if you refer to phones(or phablets) or tablets, many would have to buy controllers for a better gaming experience. however, it still can't beat the feature, experience, and the quality of a ready to use machine. with that being said, my point is that both works fine except the goods (exclusives) that only console users will get.

It’s just a standard laptop standard with fans built in. I don’t use the fans, in fact I bought it for use with a different computer. But because the fans face the bottom of the Alienware 13, which is where the intake fans are, I like to think it helps it cool without struggling.

Nicolle buy a slim. I personally have one but I’m ditching it to go Switch exclusive.

Nicolle If youre going for the regular Ps4 get a cuh-1200 or above,fixed fan noise and better air flow and have in mind the hard drive Space,if you can get a 1tb model its better,good luck!

First the switch, now the ps4 slim and pro is being sold out? Certainly monster hunter title and the way people are going back to the console, but that ps4 slim and pro is small, you can put an hd lcd display, some speakers and a battery and then you can play portably, there is a briefcase product that does this, you put your console in it and it gives you portability a little.

Really hope to see japan hang in there for consoles, I never hated mobile games I just always preferred the "ease of use of consoles that and I don't mind paying full price for a full product. "Mobile vs console"
