Japan is unique in every way and thats the way they should keep it ! It’s another planet compared to most other countries who may be advanced economically ( GDP ) but are flawed in so many ways ! So much to appreciate about Japan its culture discipline politeness which gets ingrained from the the time they are in kindergarten !

Japanese may not realize that the friendly culture in America is dying and problems are growing worse. It's getting harder for different cultures to get along because people are now arguing about problems that existed hundreds of years ago. 日本人は、アメリカの友好的な文化が失われつつあり、問題が悪化していることに気づいていないかもしれない。人々は今、数百年前に存在した問題について議論しているため、異なる文化が調和することはますます困難になっています。

Interesting video! I would say that the rules that everyone seems to chafe at are actually the things that ensure the things they like about Japan. If you start relaxing the rules that annoy you, then you will see a reduction in the diligence of people to adhere to the rules that makes Japan so great.

As an American, I find other cultures that come here interesting. I also like trying their foods, learning a little of their language & their customs. That is why i befriend foreign ppl when I see them. A smile goes a long way to break barriers.

Japanese hot springs and public bathhouses have banned tattoos to prevent them becoming meeting places for yakuza. Public bathhouses in particular cater to the locals, so if they become a meeting place for yakuza and other thugs, no one will come.

Also, just because Westerners seem more friendly and outgoing, it doesn't mean that they won't throw someone under the bus once they are done with them. It's all an act to get people to drop their defenses, which is often how they end up using someone for their own motives. It's good to have some personal boundaries.

Very beautiful women but why do they not attend to their teeth? Often laterals and canines are imbricated. That is OK but in the west it would lead to rot. Why cant they or don't want to get it fixed? It should not be very expensive. Japanese dentists are considered some of the best in the world. Obviously anyone who has been to Japan knows they are very rude but I always think this is because they are frightened of us who cant speak their language. Wish I could. I think the rape problem is related to the difficulties Japanese people have with interpersonal relations.
