The effort is probably what she appreciated most. He tried so hard to make the proposal perfect. If someone tried that hard for me, even if it wasn't perfect, I'd have absolutely melted.👍
@dsddala467 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. My husband did not do extravagant things like movies, but he did a few of very specific things that let me know he was trying so hard and was very serious about proposing that just melted me and brought tears to my eyes. First, he had owned a dress shirt and tie, and slacks, but not a belt. He bought a belt, to wear his best when he proposed, including dress socks and he shined his dress shoes. A belt had never been important to him when we attended our semi formal events, but he knew that while I did not ever require him to dress a certain way, him looking polished always melted my heart. Second, my husband has a learning disability that was never diagnosed or treated in school. He reads at a very high level and has a huge vocabulary, but writing is particularly difficult for him, as well as spelling. So he bought 2 cards to mark the occasion, and wrote out lengthy statements in both. One card was for if I said 'yes,' and the other card was in case I said 'no.' I know how hard writing is for him, so the fact that he did both was amazing and even more touching that he was humble enough to not expect me to say 'yes.' He also picked out an engagement ring for me and made sure he picked out not only a lovely one, but a durable one, educating himself on the most sturdy settings, and configurations. I am an outdoorsy girl and I am tough on jewelry, so he really went above and beyond getting all the details right, which typically, he does not sweat details in his day to day life, because he's a laid back guy. He also bought me a dozen roses, which that was the first time he had ever done that in our 3.5 years together at that point. Again, none of the details would be considered over the top, but they all illustrated to me, his seriousness, thoughtfulness and willingness to apply himself, no matter how much work was involved on his part. I did say yes, and 20+ years later, our relationship is the best thing we have ever had in our life. We are more in love have the best sex of our lives. The secret? We never stop working on improving our relationship, we always prioritize each other, and we never stop learning and growing together.

Emotions aren't bad or good necessarily, it is the attachment to the emotion, the holding onto the emotion thats bad, this could be anger, love, etc.. there's a professor who was addressing his students and was demonstrating this by asking a student to hold a bottle of water, then asking the student now let's say you hold that bottle for an hour or several hours, it's going to become heavy and straining to do that, but the weight of the bottle hasn't changed, just the length in time you're holding onto it. The idea of true love is to love the person for who they are not who you want them to be and if their journey in life leads them away from you to accept that and not hold onto that attachment to your idea of love. Attachments are the chains that cause our own suffering, that hold us down, like an anchor we drag around with us. The novel Dune speaks on this using the emotion of fear "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." Fear is a primal emotion and when used correctly can save your life or if not used correctly can kill you and this is due to holding onto the emotion, letting yourself be carried away by it. The emotion is in control of you and not you in control of the emotion. I say in control of the emotion but what I mean by that is you in control of yourself and your reaction to the emotion, your attachment to the emotion.

I suspect some people like him don't actually operate their social media accounts. They pay some hot overprivileged interns and people just out of college as social media managers and then they just keep plagiarizing like they did in college. I don't think people like Jay could keep up the charade without having some genuine expertise in what he's talking about. Would be nice if he took responsibility but then he would have to reveal he doesn't really do his own social media posts.

Not really . Most of them are ancient Indian Babas or rishis or nameless quotes . Some of them are generic . Secondly he did that ages ago . That has been stopped years ago
