From a gender role perspective, I love that while his wife took a chance on him when he had nothing and saw his potential; he had the heart and drive to actually grow and deliver on that so they could have a life balanced relationship together. So many times a woman takes a risk and jumps into these kinds of relationships for the potential and then they are left carrying the financial burdens once the partner blindsides them with their conformity.

This is why I haven’t been on dating apps. It is like a job interview; their profile is like their résumé, and they can make it look good. I’d rather meet someone while I’m just out living my life. I met someone great recently, and it was just when I was hanging out with my family; she’s a friend of my sisters’, and I got to see right away how she interacted in a casual setting.

@@RAMIC-tv1ye I was lucky. To be honest when I met her she was looking pretty glamorous, and I assumed she’d be snobby, but she’s actually pretty down to earth. We’re taking things slow for now because we both just got out of some dating drama, but so far it’s been cool getting to know her better.

It’s not the only way though- you can meet in any way, if it is compatible and the right time then it works out. I met the love of my life on a dating app. We lived more than 10 years in the same city and our paths would never have naturally crossed any yet it is a miraculous relationship and we both are so full of gratitude every day for having met

No, don’t tell yourself such story. The things that you struggled with are also the things that will make you clearer on what you want to create and give you access to a truly great relationship. Think about it, for example an alcoholic gets to change his life because of a sponsor who was also an alcoholic at some point, and not by someone with easy life and no problems.

Love you guys and great video! 🥰However, be careful about the "seeing how they treat other people" my ex husband in the beginning treated others so well and was very charismatic at first. It was until we were finally officially together that I saw another side of him as he was a narcissist and therefore was not treating others well. So I agree its important to see how they treat others but if they change pay attention to all the red flags that a narcissist may have (especially if you have never experienced dating one!). From here on out I will pay attention to all signs that may point to narcissistic traits when dating again. For now I'm in what I call "recovery" from the narcissistic abuse I encountered unfortunately. I may even write a book about it to help others.🙃

I have even used the lessons from your book during my pharmacy interview because I needed to show who I am as a person and your book helped me unravel these questions about myself. There is nothing wrong with no PDA in our country it is sign of modesty. It bothers me when people from western countries automatically assume “ is everything is alright”. And start diagnosing and making assumptions based on their experience. Instead of assuming what will help learning about other cultures and how females act in public instead of putting labels based on projections.

This conversation further dimensionalizes questions I've been pondering regarding expectations, projections, and intentions in relationships, and what love has to do with all of it. When it comes to the word "expectations", I notice my mind tends to create negative connotations, as in, "expectations lead to suffering and let-down", however, this conversation is a great example of how the concept of expectations is actually much more nuanced and paradoxical, in that: 1. not only is it OK to have expectations for our relationships, but 2. having clarity on our expectations for relationships is instrumental for BOTH our relationship with ourselves, as well as with others, and 3. this clarity also serves as useful in dispelling any tendencies to "project" subconscious expectations onto others. When an "expectation" is grounded in self-awareness of what matters most to us, and we're rooted in an intention to stay loyal to our Soul (in Jay's case, as well as in mine, awareness of how service and contribution is a priority) then the expectations we consciously hold are in service to Love, and by default, this awareness supports the alleviation of suffering. As this convo beautifully demonstrates, part of our responsibility is to: 1. Know ourselves 2. Communicate our priorities and expectations to potential partners (this need not be limited to romance) not only in conversations, but primarily in the ways we commit to daily actions, choices and overall way of being in relationship with life itself. Through our efforts to know ourselves deeply, and the choices we make to commit ourselves to serving what matters most to our Souls, we are destined to align with harmonious, mutually beneficial partnerships, and any "suffering" around expectations is minimized, because we've grounded our expectations in a higher purpose, which empowers us to view our relationships from a bigger picture point of view: From the altitude of Soul, we're empowered to take our relationships and life circumstances less personally. As we detach from narratives of personalization, we free ourselves, while simultaneously allowing others the freedom to be who they truly are. Our world continuously emerges into something far more harmonious, nurturing, and dynamically co-creative as a result. Thank you for this illuminating conversation! Much love to you both :)
