I feel like we as humans are torn between two lives. One part is the old evolution of us as mammals, just wanting to live and be a part of nature. The second part is wanting to conquer and become more and more than we are now. I believe it is the latter that we developed to separate us from animals that has gotten us to right now with language, technologies and civilizations. The part of us that wants to just live and be stagnate was an old part of our evolution that is still slightly remaining. Most mammals want to just eat, drink water and sleep. Almost every mammal sleeps and lays around for most of its life, but we have evolved a part of our brain to always be doing more. It does seem to conflict, at times, creating depression and cynicism. Don’t fall prey to your lower evolution

@@kball3336 Yes, I know why Amazon didn't have to pay taxes, legally too(It's the same for EVERY company). Amazon didn't have to pay taxes(until recently) because the company had not made a profit. I know what your thinking how did Amazon not turn a profit until 2019? Impossible? Well not exactly, first off, US law states you do not have to pay taxes on your company UNTIL the company has turned over a profit. The law is made this way because it would basically bankrupt every new company, if you invest all your money into a buisness and have to pay taxes on it, the company would never reach the point of profit(Profit: Earning that investment back + extra money) Okay so how did Amazon not "profit" until 2019? Well Amazon had invested so much money in the company that the total amount they had invested was far more than they were earning yearly. For example: Amazon invests 1 Billion$ into the company, but they only make 100 million a year, on year 1 they would be negative 900million even though they made 100mil that year, only on the 10th year of buisness Amazon would have made their initial investment back but they would have no profit at all, only on the 11th year they would have made 100 million in profit(assuming in our hypothetical example "Amazon" made exactly 100mil yearly). ONLY THEN on the 11th year(100mil profit) would Amazon have to pay taxes because that's the first year they profited. All the other years before that Amazon still hadn't made the money back they invested(1Billion) so they didn't have to pay taxes from year 1-9(starting after the 1 bill investment). That's about as simple as I can put it.

Information seeking vs not being a 'try hard.' I love that Kevin is letting people really see that you *should* try hard. You *should* be willing to look like the person who doesn't know--because that's how we learn and advance. And Jo at the end: have room in your life, in your head, for what he's saying. I needed that reminder. Good messages all through this clip. ♥︎

Kevin and Joe are both very inspiring and motivating. I constantly tell people they have to listen to JRE, not only because of the wide variety of guests, but more importantly for Joe's passion. He is always eager to learn more and willing to change positions when presented with compelling new information. His passion and Kevin's positivity is contagious. In this polarized society with so many hell bent on confirmation bias as a way of life, thanks for helping to remind us of what is truly important gentlemen.

I don't want to seem like an annoying fanboy. But there's a right way to do it he outlined t. Take initiative, introduce yourself, say a quick piece and wait for the other person to respond. They may not want to talk and that's ok. Introducing yourself is hardly an overstep and can open doors

And he's right, rich families like the Rockfellers and Rothschilds have paid specialized wealth medias to not talk about them in their papers and rankings. Most of billionaires that we know about got rich through their entreprises which is considered more noble than a (crooked?) banker, trader that generated wealth out of an unclear, skimpy, shady process (insider trading) that's why they don't want to drag the lights towards them, they wouldn't get the good opinions and feelings from the masses.

There are so many subjects and situations that we've been taught to "be cool" about. Ideas and thoughts we're not supposed to address in a public space or out loud at all for that matter. I agree with Kevin on this. I wasn't consulted when these unspoken social behaviors were decided and I don't abide by them when situations arise. Why should we filter just because a social agreement was made without us? Be kind, but act on your curiosity and instinct.
