The lady at 11:22 explains exactly why this is the issue. It's not that big of an issue if the fake goods is purchased by an individual. I mean no one says anything if you "pirate" stream a movie from some weird website. However it becomes an issue if a "Movie theater" streams movie from illegal site. So that lady is saying that it's an issue because freezia goes from just an individual to a public face. She would have been fine if she was just a private person that does youtube but once she's on mainstream media, and actually starts to get real brand endorsements, I guess people have problem with that. Sure "Fake it til you make it" quote exists but should a Robber(thief) become a Banker?

@@SaNgJuN86 I don't agree with that lady. Celebrities are not public property. They're still people. She said, "private individuals dress for personal satisfaction, while celebrities dress to please the public." That's a twisted way of thinking. Celebrities also have the right to wear whatever they want and express themselves through clothes. They're not public property that have to appease the public to exist. The lady also claimed that celebrities make money off of looking good. That's not an absolute rule though. In my country, a lot of influencers and famous people don't wear brand clothes, they become famous because of their fun personality, talent, or humor. I do agree that FreeZia deserves criticism because she was sponsored by those brands but wore fakes. Like you said, movie theaters can't stream pirated copies. It's not because FreeZia is a celebrity, it's specifically because she's sponsored by those brands which is why her actions deserve to be criticized. But honestly? I don't care. Where the heck is the morality in that? I need to see the smoke that they have for FreeZia extended to actual criminals(rapists, abusers, corrupt politicians and cops) in their country. It's kind of a shame that for such a technologically developed country, South Korea is still so obsessed with physical appearance and is so quick to judge celebrities and influencers over every little thing. Even if FreeZia is 'canceled' odds are she's made enough money to retire or do whatever else she wants to do. Why is it that so many people care so much about owning brand name things? This whole obsessing over money, brand names, etc... It's not really sustainable in the long run and really it doesn't matter. People also need to accept that influencers & celebrities are also human too. But human nature unfortunately is more obsessed with things to criticize others and because of the lifestyle and image celebrities & influencers try to give off, naturally they'd be analyzed with everything the do by people.

Have you ever lived in Korea? In Korea, it is true that wealth, status, and appearance are important, but at the same time, personality is also important. It won't be that different from your country than you think. If only wealth, status, and appearance mattered, there would be absolutely no reason for it to be canceled because it is what freezia has. I know the cancellation about her is excessive. But when it comes to moral standards for celebrities, why do you think it's a lie? Koreans do not realize that celebrities are actually the same human like us, and when they make a mistake, they criticize it excessively and even cancel it. This is because they expect unrealistically high morals from celebrities. All celebrities who are canceled are people with good wealth, status, and good looks.

I understand the irony, but is it possible to directly compare products and plastic surgery? There are other countries that do a lot of plastic surgery. Are they tolerant of fake products? If a famous person in your country falsely claims that a fake brand is a real brand, is there any problem with that? Of course, it is true that criticism of her is excessive. But you seem to be saying that Koreans shouldn't criticize fake products. Koreans aren't the only ones who do plastic surgery in Korea. It is famous for it, so many Asians come and Westerners also come. It's all included and the stats come out. And the most common cosmetic surgery performed by Korean women is double surgery. That's why the statistics are high. And Korea's beauty standards are distorted, and that's because society has a lot of pressure on appearance. In a situation like this, do you want people to blame each other for the fake face? Then it becomes another bullring. So people think that plastic surgery is their freedom, no one interferes. But is your country accusing people of plastic surgery as fake? I don't think so. You won't even care about them. It is absurd to say that people should not criticize fake products just because they have a high rate of plastic surgery. You are saying that because you want to mock Koreans, but that is actually a different matter. Even in other countries, people won't like to see famous influencers on KZbin or streaming platforms lying about fake brands as if they were real ones. You seem to misunderstand the standards of celebrities in Korea. That's not to say that standards are right. And Sam spoke as if he was demeaning most Koreans for what some high school students did wrong. He was able to communicate with Koreans in a good way. However, he chose to appear on BBC foreign radio broadcasts and criticize Koreans with foreigners on social media. People thought that his behavior was not the attitude of a celebrity who has been loved in Korea. People felt betrayed and wanted to cancel him. (I'm not saying the cancellation was justified. I'm talking about what Koreans think about Sam's incident. And not because he's black. Besides that, there are also black people who have recently become famous on Korean TV.) Foreigners and Korean celebrities can criticize Korea, but when it's morally bad, people cancel them. High standards for celebrities refer to high morality and attitude toward viewers and fans. Of course, many Koreans are increasingly aware that it is an excessive expectation of celebrities. If you look at this freezia case, you can clearly see that there is a problem. I feel bad that she dissapeared for something like that, also dispatch revealed only a few items were not real designer, I miss her content and I wish she would come back, I hope she does, there are also many international fans supporting her

I’m so salty she’s still inactive on all her social media platforms. I liked watching her KZbin videos and now they’re all gone. This whole situation is so stupid, people should use this negative energy towards criminals.

Why people are treating her as if she killed a person like.. you guys need to chill. Playing with someone's mental health is not funny. Just live your life and let her live her life. MOVE ON BRUH!!!

Well, around two (or more) years before I suddenly found her channel. Back then she filmed some videos just for fun, and there weren’t many subs (around 24 thousands) but I still followed her because I liked her personality and her lifestyle. Since then I have seen her growth and my opinion never changed, moreover, she taught me to love and appreciate myself more, to dress the way I want without caring what others are gonna think (she gave so many good advice about styling clothes!). All her videos were great, interesting and I could see how passionate she is about the KZbin and grateful to her subscribers. Seeing her in this situation, I can totally understand that she was wrong, but I will never accept the cancelling and dead threats that people are writing on the Internet. They don’t know her at all, and most of those haters simply envy the success and lifestyle that she had. When I saw all the videos being deleted, I felt so sad and empty… It felt like a good friend of mine is suffering a lot and I can’t even help. I really hope that she will find strength to come back to KZbin and will make videos again.

The fact that knock off brands are so popular just shows how messed up our society is. People want to show off a fake image that they're wealthy and have all these designer items, when it shouldn't matter if they have no name or not popular branded items.

Knetz defaced their own country with how harshly they treated her! They gave her all of that fame just to tear her to pieces when they spotted something they didn’t like! Attacking her and her family then claiming it was about some bags?? The KNETZ are what’s ruining their reputation not the celebrities they praise! This situation just proves even more how materialistic most of these people are. There are so many young Koreans that are just like her! Why do you think she did it in the first place??

Wow... I mean I'm not really her fan, but the punishment she's getting is like a serious crime. I mean, as if the personal attack is not enough, they go as far as saying she humiliates Korea as a nation. Whatta joke.

The fact Koreans don't put this much effort on the racism and social class issues in their country instead they're too busy upset about a young girl trying to live her best life
@miaka123ify2 жыл бұрын
My honest opinion on this topic is that Korean society made a lifestyle that isn't possible for most people. If we are talking about fake luxury or pretending to be rich, lets strat about how parents get into debt just so their children can go to top universities or even high schools, this isn't just a problem about her or her fake or unfake lifestyle is about how society makes the pressure on people to be successful and have high paid jobs, how the society expects you to go to high universities and instigates competition since a young age. I feel sorry for her, lose everything just because of some insecure and jello people. Yes, she did a mistake that was using fake in an international reality show and the brands can sue her if they want. But pretending that she commit a big crime, when real criminals get 8 months of a sentence or do community service is really pathetic. They just make her the escape to their unsolved insecurities and not achievements.

I feel that they never really answered the questions. They just kind of kept repeating, in different words, the same surface level reasoning for jia’s treatment. They never think deeper, about why they are judging her more harshly than celebrities, and why they care more about protecting brands than a human’s emotions and life. I want to keep asking, “but why” after each of their responses until they reason themselves into seeing that the response to jia is unfair and hypocritical, and perhaps sexist.

Luxury brand manufacturers loses around 30 billion dollars a year to the counterfeit market. The companies invest a lot of time and money in coming up with their designs only see their hard work ripped off by those who counterfeit their designs and willing individuals who buy them. It bothers me to see some of the interviewees think that buying and wearing counterfeits is okay. Simply put, it's theft. Even if you paid for it, you're supporting an illegal industry.

Many people would say that luxury brands are rich enough so it’s not a big deal. But if we think about the designers behind these new clothes/bags… they do all-nighters to make them and after because someone bought a fake one, they have their designs and money stole. In my country if you buy fakes and you caught by police you’re going to be punished. So I would hope at the end influencers specifically the ones who are in luxury fashion would put more care about being honest to their community.

I still hope that one day will come for humans to realize that people can and should be given a chance to redeem themselves. A mistake does not and will not define who you truly are. Instead, it serves as a lesson for someone to be better. How can that person be better when the society cancels and demean you plus your love ones?
@larkspurz2 жыл бұрын
At the end of the day, what these people say is irrelevant. FreeZia could've easily ignored all of them. Why would she cares what they think? After all, they are strangers to her. That's why she's there and they're there.
@samshridiagnostics75932 жыл бұрын
People are her audience. Celebrities are nothing without the common people cuz these people are the ones that follow and support her (not necessarily the people in the vid😅) they can easily boycott her and she'll be left with nothing on her hands. Plus knetizens were sending her very insensitive comments and death threats. That can seriously harm a person's mentality.
@larkspurz2 жыл бұрын
@@samshridiagnostics7593 then perhaps, she doesn't need that kind of audience. Shutting herself down makes her look weak and frightened. Rather than losers "boycotting" her, she shot herself on her foot by shutting herself down. Insensitive comments and death threats are part and parcel of celebrity life. If I were her, I'd just grow a thick skin and ignore all those losers.
@samshridiagnostics75932 жыл бұрын
@@larkspurzThis is how an influencer's life is. All companies that sponsored her dropped their deals, this was her source of income. And social media culture in Korea is much more different than the West, cyber bullying is very real and harsh as compared to the west.

I feel really good seeing most of these comments. I'm glad people (mostly) agree over the fact that their treatment of Zia was unacceptable. What she did with the brands is between her and the companies, and whether or not they will take her to court. The KNets were grossly overreacting. Considering all the other issues going on in the world, I find it extremely appalling that they're worried bout bags.
