Buddy who was less than half my size gave me his old beat up longboard. It was great when I was learning to balance and for early shoving. But I couldn't turn it because I'm way too large on his pin tail. I got a large sector 9 after about 2 or 3 years. Such a wholesome way to learn. It definitely makes a difference. Glad you're here to ask someone.

Really root for the second hand board! Bought my pintail second hand for 60€, and the setup as new would go for around 250-300€. Also the fact that the deck is quite worn out motivates me to learn more and faster, cuz every1 thinks I've been doing it for ages cuz of all the skate stickers and the look 😂

So I wrote this in the comments section of a different video that was like 3 years old but I wasn’t sure you’d see it so I’m reposting in hope that you’d take the time for it! This is it here: I’ve snowboarded since I was 4, and skateboarded just a little bit in middle school but I was always afraid to get into it because there was never really a community of boarders in my area. My hometown only has about 20k people. Now however I am a sophomore in college and in my second year of longboarding. I got to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. The campus there is HUGE so it could take me 30 minutes to walk to class. I had seen a few guys on boards and thought I’d try it. I watched some of your videos and have fallen in love with dancing. You mentioned a challenge you had used in previous videos when you were starting up. I was thinking while watching this is it would be pretty badass if you were to start making challenge videos that are aimed to take you from the VERY BASICS all the way to advanced. If you made a new challenge video each week/month/two-weeks telling the viewers to practice one new trick or dance sequence. (Also might suggest they post the videos and tag you, ultimately more advertising for you.) Viewers might feel like it’s more personal for them and grow as you go. Anyways my appreciation for you again, let me know what you think about the idea if you read this and I hope someday you will come visit Texas.

I just bought my first longboard absolutely on a whim when my new winter jacket was surprisingly cheaper and I had money left to spend in the sporting goods store. My best friend bought a other thin and flexible drop through, whereas I stuck to a pretty sturdy and thicc pintail and we're both so happy with our choices, it's almost ridiculous. We tried out each others boards and both came to the conclusion that we definitely made the right choice and we'd never have bought the others respective shape of board. Idk why, but I myself never could get into skateboarding, the shape of a skateboard throws my whole balance off, I can't get myself to be comfortable on it. Same thing happened on the friends board, just a little less. So yeah, in conclusion: I love my pintails and I will never get a different shape, you can pry it from my cold dead hands xD (btw, I got a regular skateboard for my birthday in spring and well, I still can't get my body to function on it, idk why I am like that)

my first board is a long, single drop, drop through for cruising. next board is a shorter freestyle board, bought it on a whim. next is a surfskate (because i surf). next is something that is like a hybrid pintail, so it is shaped like a pintail except that the tail is actually a kick tail. in the end, i'll stick with surfskate so that i can practice surf movements even if i am away from the beach.

it’s okay tho, I’m the same way. longboards are just easier to ride overall, more space and room for your feet. I also just generally feel safer on one..? Rather than a skateboard? idk, but I’m the same way :)

Stay away from that brand, and from most brands on amazon too. Spend that bit more for something that's not garbage. It is not good board for freestyle, tricks, or anything.

Not sure if you’re still wondering about the retrospec. I have it and love it. They come with spacers that are not even needed and just slow the wheels down. Just take those out and change the bearings and you will have more flow.

it's very late for this but some companies sell boards with misprinted graphics or other cosmetic problems for a discount! I got a $100 deck for $80 and I'd honestly never be able to tell you what was wrong with it if they hadn't sent a note as well. Hey, love this video. Could you make one on wheels? I just bought a dancing board (Tarab, Paris 193mm, cloud ride midnight blue) and was given cruiser wheels. The wheels seems heavy for doing trick 66mm, 78 duro cloud ride midnight blue). I don t seem to find any video on what are the best dancing wheels. Yours seems narrower (blood orange).
