It appears that Geno and receiver communication needs to be more clear. Some of his throws ( 2 possible interceptions and two interceptions) seemed to be the result of the receivers not being in the place Geno expected. The most glowing example was the final interception. Looked like DK ran a Go route when he should have cut to the sidelines. Even announcer Mark Sanchez called this out. Communication is the answer.

The final int was an example of DK running a lazy route. He didn't run a go, he took a play off and rounded off his route, and he's done that throughout his career. That's not communication, that's an elite WR with 6 years NFL experience not giving a crap

The comparison to Sam Darnold is a bit of a stretch because a) Vikings had more of a run game all year, b) his receivers (including TE's) are better, and the main reason: c) the Vikings have FAR BETTER play calling... top 2-3 in the NFL..

Geno is Geno. In between the 20's he's solid. In the Red Zone, when the pressure is on, he forces things. Where are the stats tracking how many points Seattle has lost because of crucial Geno turnovers? He will be 35 next year. He want's an extension, he certainly comes with baggage. Yes I agree with Luke. This offense needs to be overhauled. You cannot afford to have DK and Tyler Lockett at a combined $60+ million against the salary cap. Their production has not been good enough and they have not been getting open consistently. I love them both, but maybe it is time to move on. The tight end room with Fant and Barner does not move the needle either for this team. They are not good enough blockers or receivers. The offensive line is atrocious, and nothing more needs to be said there. This team needs so much it is no wonder why Geno has made as many mistakes as he has. He is not getting any help other than from JSN. I'm not absolving Geno of his issues, but he deserves better than this. Move on from Tyler, Fant, Dremont Jones, RRH, and Rayshawn Jenkins and trade DK and Woolen for good enough picks. Reallocate those resources to build the offensive line and improve the team wholistically. There's no reason that this offense should be bad with Geno, JSN, K9+Charbz once they have a functional offensive line. The NFL is loaded with talent at wide receiver now and this draft is solid for tight ends. Find as much talent at offensive line that you can and don't be afraid to spend with all this new space for 2025.

Like you said, Geno isn't the one to blame for everything but he just isn't the solution, certainly not the long term solution. This is a new coaching staff trying to piece together the team the way they envision it so it will take more than 1 off season for them to figure it out. If we can fix the Oline we can maybe make a playoff push with Geno next year if he can work on those interceptions, but I'm not confident that he can actually lead us to a super bowl win. The playoffs mean playing 3 or 4 games in a row against good teams in high pressure situations and not losing which is something he hasn't shown the capability of doing. Ryan Grubb's poor playcalling hasn't helped and our terrible Oline but again hopefully this will improve for next season. I think the Hawks need to try and find an answer this off season for QB, at least a developmental guy that will sit for a year+, to try and avoid QB purgatory and make big improvements to the Oline. Try and make a push next year and if things fall apart again its time to commit to a rebuild with a hopefully somewhat developed/developing QB and let Mike Mac have his way with the rebuild at least on Defense.

Geno's done, he panics, he is the only QB in 2024 NFL to throw an interception every game. You cannot win doing that. He is guaranteed to keep throwing interceptions. Recruit, substitute, train, acquire a new QB.

Ryan Grubb reminds me a LOT of Joe Brady... Brady was a great OC in College, but washed out in his 1st stint as a NFL OC at Carolina in 2020-21... But then ends up on the Buffalo staff when they fire Dorsey and guess what? He does an absolutely great job in his 2nd chance. Could Grubb follow that trajectory? I haven't been wowed by Grubb this year, but I do see promise. Ifv he's kept on, I'm thinking there's a decent chance he does better in his 2nd season...

Seahawk fans need to get off Geno's back and get loud. Buffalo's fans have been the loudest in our stadium this year and that was with 40% of the crowd. There are no limitations to what this offensive line can't do. Ryan Grubb should rank a lot higher than our o-line. Cross is probably the only keeper there.

I like Coach Mac but he should have been hired as our defensive coordinator and stepped into the head coaching position a few years from now after learning from one of the true masters of the game Pete Carroll. Scheming blitzes is one thing but teaching secondary players to contain the high powered passing attacks and playing bend but don't break defense and forcing turnovers in the red zone is the way to victory in this league.

@skibidiboyJJ The Seahawks are averaging half a sack less per game then last year when we played the AFC North who are run heavy teams with the exception of Cincinnati. This year we played the much weaker NFC West a pathetic AFC East with the exception of Buffalo and NFC North who has compiled good records but aren't the physical teams of the AFC North that we faced last year. What Pete Carroll did with this small market team leading he NFL in every major category (points allowed rushing yards allowed passing yards allowed and turnovers) 4 years in a row especially with a bunch of late round picks (Sherman, Chancellor, Bennett) is unprecedented in league history. That defense will never be replicated again but there is little to convince me that Jody made the right decision. BTW Baltimore is just behind Denver for the league lead in sacks with 47 and that after losing a really good blitzing linebacker Patrick Queen. Yep firing Pete was a mistake.

I wish I had a way to see all the field. Because I would like to know why they are throwing so few passes to Tyler Lockett. I think they have already retired Lockett even before the season started and he is just out there now to make the defense attach to him to free up DK and JSN. I think if they wanted to they could have thrown more his way but just aren't. A good reciver is only as good as the QB using him and they are not using Lockett much at all. I'm glad we got JSN, he is doing fantastic, DK while good always seems to have a question mark attached to his conduct on the field. Lockett has always caught the balls thrown to him and I rank him a close second to Steve Largent as the best WR Seattle has had. I'll miss him when he retires......

You can't compare Sam Darnold and Geno Smith. Stating that they have been sack nearly the same amount of time yet we have one time that has some what a running game and another that doesn't. We also see The Seahawk Defense for most of this season has been bad compared to the Vikings Defense. So, Geno who is a better pocket passer then Sam who helps his o-line a lot with getting rid of the ball fast and moving in the pocket to avoid sacks. Case in point Sam Howell getting sack 22% of the time when he came in for Geno. Don't be lazy man and dig a little deeper for the information that is in your face.

Gino is a big issue. He has 15 INTs 2nd most in the league and what? 19 TDs? Turnovers are killers. I don't care that he's throwing 40+ times.. Most his INTs he throws it right to the other team.. he holds on the ball too long sometimes he takes untimely sacks. You should have had two more INTs the other day. Is Minnesota didn't drop two of them.

Don't compare Geno To Sam Darnold. Sam Darnold has a running game a d coordinator who helps him. Sam doesn't drop back 75% of the time. Geno makes the interceptions because he feels he's responsible for all the scoring. And in reality that's the position he's been put in. And then you blame him. Switch Geno and Sam and Geno would be the hero and Sam the bad one. Totally unfair and stupid.

Stupid penalties and stupid throws has been the story of the season. They have talent to compete IF they play smart. Seahawks will win tomorrow against Bears, Cards will sweep series against Rams on Saturday and Seattle will have chance to win and in next week. It is Christmas so maybe that is the wish for many Seahawks fans :) Maybe since Seattle will draft receiver why not trade DK to Jags for Lawrence and start with him. Draft more cattle on both sides of ball to help him out as new starting qb.

Why John Schneider picked Sam I’ll never know and gave up a third round pick, it’s ridiculous. But Geno is not great. He chokes & throws too many interceptions. And they end up costing the game half the time. Even if you have a bad offensive line, you have to protect the ball. If John Schneider doesn’t pick great offensive lineman in this upcoming draft, he needs to be fired too.

That's a crazy thing to say. Even a playoff loss would be good experience for a lot of our younger guys. That way, next year, it won't be a brand-new experience. It would also be decent momentum going into summer practice next year. A "hardcore fan" would never have an opinion like that. So i just went to the nfl playoffs machine. So lets just say Rams wins against Arizona Cardinals. And Seahawks wins againsts the bears. Basically its not over. On Week 18 we have to win against the Rams. And then Week 18 Lions has to win against the Vikings and Bears has to win against the Packers and then Cardinals has to win against the 49ers on week 18 then we are in the playoffs and then we are the number 3 seed and playing Greenbay in Seattle again..
