Hampi, once the magnificent capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, stands as a captivating reminder of India’s rich and storied past. In the 16th century, it was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the world, rivalling the grandeur of Rome and Beijing. Portuguese traveller Domingo Paes was awestruck by the scale and prosperity of Hampi, vividly describing the vast empire of Krishna Deva Raya, its majestic temples, and bustling markets. Among these, the Virupaksha Temple, still active today, is renowned for an ancient optical marvel, while the Vithala Temple is celebrated for its musical pillars and the iconic stone chariot.
During Krishna Deva Raya’s reign, Hampi flourished with remarkable defences, sophisticated water systems, and architectural brilliance that showcased the empire's power and prosperity. However, the city’s glory was short-lived, as it was later sacked by neighbouring kingdoms, leading to widespread destruction. Today, the ruins of Hampi offer a haunting glimpse into its illustrious past, with structures like the Queen’s Bath, the Kamal Mahal, and the towering Mahanavami Dibba standing as silent witnesses to its former grandeur.
Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Hampi continues to draw visitors from around the world, who come to marvel at its breathtaking beauty, its architectural feats, and its rich history that still echoes through the ruins.

They made sure to mention that Vijaynagara conquered the "Hindu" Gajapatis of Odisha - but no mention of who destroyed Vijayanagara or Hampi. Just "neighboring kingdoms united against them" - I sure wonder why that was or who they were lmao.

The Battle of Talikota, fought on January 26, 1565, was between the Vijayanagara Empire and five(5) Islamic invaders Kingdom-Ahmadnagar, Bijapur, Golconda, Bidar, and Berar. These Sultanates united to defeat Vijayanagara under King Aliya Rama Raya, leading to the destruction of its capital, Hampi, and marking the end of Vijayanagara’s golden era.

No arches were introduced by Mughals , that's why indigenous indian architecture didn't had arches that's why TEMPLES are flat and short supported by pillars , or either LARGER STRUCTURE ARE pyramidal as it's stable . But there were no true arches prior to islamic influence in india .

True arches were Islamic imports. The arches that Hindu temples had were fake arches, they just put parallel blocks over one another to make it seem like an arch.

We lost so much, especially by burning the library at Nalanda University. Thanks to the Khangress rule, we were taught how great the invaders were, including Akbar and Tippu, but there was never a mention of the true heroes of Bharat, such as Krishnadevaraya and Shivaji Maharaj.

8:20 Funny how everything is labelled as Islamic Art when art is banned and harm in Islam. A lot of this Islamic art that you listen is primarily Zoroastrian Persian art which originated in ancient Persia Zoroastrians and then later on being called as Islamic when Arabs themselves were nomadic and had no Major settled societies especially in the Gulf because it has been a barren desert.

Even Persia is a wasteland desert. From all sides india is surrounded with desert. But still people do several false claims like indian food and indian music is from Mughals. Mughals were from Uzbekistan, a place where even farming is not done. And they think they invented indian food. Same way the invention of musical instruments like tabla and sitar is claimed to be invented by Amir khusro. Which is again false claim. There are several temples in Odisha and Maharashtra that shows sculptures of people playing tabla in the same way as today. Even the sitting posture of playing the tabla is exactly same as today. In tamil sangam poems they even mentioned the procedure to make the tabla. But still states like Uttar Pradesh claim that it was invented by Amir khusro.

Go and watch the bhaja caves man. The sculpture of a women playing tabla is very clear in the cave. And man there are several ancient sculptures in Odisha that shows tabla. The older name of tabla was pushkara , the sangam poems call it by that name. Bro there is an entire article on tabla on Wikipedia. And Wikipedia clearly says that there is No Mughal literature that mention tabla was invented by Amir khusro. No Mughal or Delhi sultanate paintings depict tabla, no sculpture of Mughals and sultanate depict tabla. Go and read man. It is just a belief of UP people that tabla was invented by Amir khusro. There is no physical evidence to prove their point.
@Wangxian_6
@Wangxian_6 Күн бұрын
@@footballcricket-jz5ck Nope, the Bhaja cave drum doesn’t look much like a tabla. It doesn’t have a syahi, and other indian Indian drums also don’t have syahi. Tabla evolved later, most likely under Persian influence. The Persians adopted a proto-tabla-like instrument and named it 'tabl' (based on the Arabic language). Also, there’s no true tabla-like instrument prior to the 17th century (as mentioned in Wikipedia), and all ancient tabla precursors aren’t new-they resemble naqqara and other drums. Tabla is a medieval innovation, and the Khusro story is not true .

Ancient India was truly marvelous and awe-inspiring, but because of these radical Mughals, we lost everything. I can feel how painful it was for us (Hindus) to survive, and many were killed in front of them. The Mughals then destroyed everything we had. Trust me, time will soon reverse, and the pain they inflicted on us will be returned a thousand fold to their generations.
