A fantastic breakdown of one of my favourite titles! I adore Suda's work so much and his directorial signature can not be mistake with how he approaches art. It's why he's one of the best in the business and why "No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again" is one of my favourite titles in general with how much of a meta and frank look it is at his history as a person and as a creative! Cheers for another incredible video which continues to contain your directorial signature, keep up the fantastic work and have a lovely day!

I haven't finished that one yet actually. Definitely going to as I want to analyze all of the games eventually. Can't wait! Also thank you! It means a ton

I played all of the games (Travis strikes again included) after falling in love with the ost. I binged these games before three dropped and it was some of the best gaming experiences I had.

Probably the most important thing that No More Heroes series taught in all these four games it's how to live my life. Travis is one of the most disgusting characters I've ever seen in a video game, yet he and all the psychotic characters who have accompanied (and beaten) him are the ones closest to my heart. Never stopping, facing adversity with swagger, is what makes me love this series and has helped me face my internal problems. Thank you for making this video, keep on keepin' on!
@ColeTheFactGuy7 ай бұрын
What great about Travis though, is through each game we slowly but surely see him change onto someone people want to be around. Someone who finally gives a shit. And I think if we ever get a NMH 4, we'll have the game end with Travis finally acknowledging that change and being there for Sylvia and his kids again
@shadou123456710 ай бұрын
Great breakdown of Travis. Suda 51 is fucking crazy (in the good sense) and deserves the recognition. Thank you for adressing some of the dubious story parts and instead of trying to apply logic to it just explaining it really doenst matter in the big picture, it just happens to slight change how you feel on how you believe it. GGs
@ColeTheFactGuy10 ай бұрын
I don't think it's worth trying to apply logic to the plot of these games at all times because they just aren't meant to have every detail scrutinized. The things that matter are the characters, and they're always consistently good

Man, I wish people would stop forgetting Travis Strikes Again No More Heroes in the series. You had me up until, "I love all three of these games", however, TSA is also part of the trilogy you speak of. Just upsetting that the game gets bashed so much. Anyway, that's my rant for my beloved TSA over, aha.

I personally have not played it yet, though I do know the general synopsis. But since I haven't played it I decided not to comment on it

@@ColeTheFactGuytsa is incredible. It’s got one of the best ost’s and the second best story in the series (1 is the undisputed for me imo) it’s great and feels like a true sequel to nmh1. More then nmh2 as well. Highly recommend it

you're going places my guy. fully agree with the opinion on the game in particular, but that's less important than the message on auteurism/directorial vision coming through. I think you expressed yourself far better than you gave yourself credit for lol

I *NEVER* hated the open world! I was so upset when it was removed in 2, it was a great way to pace yourself and take it easy before the fights
@ColeTheFactGuy6 ай бұрын
When I first played, I really expected to hate it, but I really didn't mind it at all. Like I said because Sudas vision is so strong, it's hard to really find things I don't like. I don't mind it being gone in 2, as I'm sure ill say when I eventually make a video on that game, but I also never thought it was bad in the 1st
@lightspaceman506410 ай бұрын
After your last video I was like this guys cool I wonder what he'll do next? And then you come back with a video on THIS GAME of all games? It's like you were trying to impress me specifically. I can't tell you how many times I've had to tell people why this is my favorite game and after I get through the "What's that?" part of the conversation I kinda just have to give up somewhere. Because it would take too long. It's everything. Including any jankyness it might have. I think it's Suda's best overall game. Yeah, I said it K7 fans. Silver Case has his best story though. I think it's the best game about games. It was everything I thought was cool back when I first played it but it also made me think about those things more.
@ColeTheFactGuy10 ай бұрын
I think Suda has such an insane way of doing things that any of his games in the Kill the Past line could probably be considered his best. Also I totally get the trouble explaining it as NMH is so original and different that it's hard to explain why it's so great

I hope you make another video on the other 3 games. Yes, there's 3 more games. Besides NMH2 and NMH3, there's also TSA, aka Travis Strikes Again. It came out before NMH3, and it is in fact canon to the No More Heroes franchise.
@ColeTheFactGuyАй бұрын
Honestly this has been oddly a video that has consistently gotten more and more views since it came out, and originally I wasn't sure if I wanted to do the other games, but since it's had such consistent growth with quite a few people wanting me to talk about the others, I'd say not far off in the future I'll be looking at the rest. 2 first obviously, but I will do TSA. I've never actually played it but I'm very interested
@R.J.Crimson99Ай бұрын
@ColeTheFactGuy Oh most definitely! And if you need a reference to looking into the story and game development of these games, check out the "Deadly Individualism" videos on No More Heroes. They're quite literally some of the best videos on the No More Heroes series on this site.
