Honestly not a fan of mons just getting bigger. But I’m also an Incineroar fan since I started in Gen 7. I like how different the starters get. And I’d argue the other two follow their lines decently well. And Incineroar has its own great qualities, being one of the most expressive Pokémon ever made. Newer Pokémon, while lacking the ability to put any personality on them, have a lot more pronounced personalities

I'm all for expressive pokemon. I just dont like it when its not expressed or built up from the first stages. Incineroar isnt bad by any means, but a lot of peeps including myself definitely were disappointed when litten evolved into a wrestler and not a cool fire tiger. If the wrestler was hinted earlier on, it would have changed peoples opinions.

When the question was first posed in the beginning of the video my first answer was exactly Gen 1, Gen 3, and Gen 4. Rillaboom is my favorite starter all time because I've always wanted a Gorilla starter and despite the drums he was everything I could have wanted

I don't really like the Kanto starters. All 3 grass ones blend together, though I find it impressive how they were the more consistently competitive across the generations out gen 1 starters. Warturtle is a natural progression for Squirtle, then Blastoise comes up out of nowhere. Which is a shame, cus it's definitely cool, but that isn't Wartutles Evo. Also, those canons are supposed to be like what shellfish use to move, which, sounds disgusting (are those cloacas? Blastoise squirts to fight? they weaponize sexual gratification?). Charmeleon ruins their line, its either angry charmander or wingless charizard. Both options suck. It should have something on the back to be a better bridge, or change charizard to a landlocked build, which isn't the best idea. That said, if charizard was more like a dinosaur, it'd make more sense with the Japanese name, lizardon, lizard dinosaur, but they didn't commit to it. Gen 1 is like a 4/9. They might be iconic, but that's mostly because they're old. Honestly, I think none of the trios are completely good on me. Meganium is disappointing Croconaw is ugly and Ferali is does nothing for me and I love crocs, I should love these but I don't. The fire is neat. I love quilava and typholsion is awesome. 6/9 I hate lanky limbs in Pokémon, so I hate treeko, I like grovile and sceptile disappoints me Marshtomp might be the worst pokemon ever The torchic line was made to grow ugly and they fucked it up because Blaziken is rad as all hell... Cumbusken is the 2nd worst mon ever 5/9 I don't like monkeys, but infernape is neat. Prinplup looks awkward, which is the fate of many middle stages. The turtwig line is literal art design perfection. They progress into the next, but none is overshadowed, they're all amazing. 6/9 The snivy line is fine and it's only issue is that they all blend together. And the complaint of the limbs is silly. Guess what, that's how we got snakes irl, and legless lizards. Logic is full of bias, science doesn't care about biases. If a design made you curious to learn a little something, I think it did it's job well. Tepig is cute, the rest is eh. I don't care for osha nor dewott, slowpoke is a better otter and it is part hippo and salamander. Summurott is... Conflicting. I like sea lions, but sammurott is too busy to read as one of them. He's cool, but dunno... Eh, the h form saves it I guess 5/9 Gen 6 grass is... Ok I guess Gen 6 fire is... Ok I guess Gen 6 water annoys me, they did the blastoise again. Where are your bubbles Greg WHERE? 3/9 The cat is eh. Rowlett good, then bad, then good again but not the best. I like primarina, popplio is whatever, the middle one has these weird flaps, they look disgusting. Is it dragging some kind of parasitic algae? 3/9 I don't like monkeys... FU, twakey. I hate lankey limbs. FU, all this line. The rabbit... I guess cinder could be worse 1/9 I like the cats. First is cute. Second looks like puss n boots. And I Ike the cape of Meowscarada, looks like beetle wings, I like beetles. The fire croc are among the best lines ever. Quax, just no. The full on fursuit (or I guess feather suit) looks terrible. Blaziken and Decidueye are good examples of anthropomorphic birds, quaqaval is a bad one... The tail is cool though... 6/9 I wouldn't want any line to dissappear, other than Gen 8 that is
