I needed 200 units of Spice to complete a late game high imperial quota and I try to barter with the Fremen for it. No matter what I offered them they wouldn’t give it to me and got me in trouble with the rest of the Landsraad. I love this game

RTS as a genre hasn't been very successful or popular lately. Maybe deemphasizing the RTS aspect is just an attempt to reduce that aspect and appeal to 4x fans who may be automatically turned off by the RTS label.

Its very much both 4x and RTS combined. Its kind of like the RTS for the thoughtful / strategic player that doesnt want the 400APM of Starcraft 2, but doesnt want the 4 days straight of playing for a Stellaris campaign.

RTS hasn't been popular lately because there haven't been any great RTS games in a long time. I don't think anyone is "put off" by the RTS label. Many of us 4X gamers are old RTS gamers who have been waiting for another great Dune game since the early 2000s.

not sure why people seem to act like real time 4x games don't exist. Stellaris, Crusader Kings, EU, all of these are real time and arguably some of the most well known 4x games on the market

Through its simplicity, the game mechanic is original. And just learned about their previous game that’s somewhat similar: Northgard. However, here there’s lore prospects if you’re a fan of the Dune universe

I am vying for the maintenances fee Was more keen how bene gesserit work in this game… 12:30 knowing it’s lore helps a bit especially where to run when the sand worms comes after your troops… they hate water and stones…so icecaps, villages on outcrop or bits of rocks in the middle of dunes…

Expect multiplayer support (*will* happen), acknowledge modding support (*may* happen). It was a confusing sentence, so thanks for letting me clarify it. Looking back at my research, they generally said comments like “Anything Could Happen! Stay tuned…” when prompted on how modding would suit D:SW (Steam Forums April 27, 2022). Note: I did the research for this video 6 months ago, things may have changed.

It's... Pretty damn good. Reacts very quickly both defencivly and aggressively. They balace thier economies well, is hard to crash their economies but not impossible. Seems to not cheat.

when a unit is within range of an airfield, theres a button on their stat block labelled 'embark' which you can click to spend solaris and send them to another area within range of an airfield. took me a while to spot the button lmao

Watch Dune 2000 and Children of Dune, even thou its older and has less budget than 2021 version. 6 films. It is so good, the sets, the amount of extras, even the CGI aged quite well, the music. It doesnt change or remove anything from what I can tell. It only adds extra stories to develop some characters who dont get much in the books. The Baron is The Baron, the actor is incredible. His performance is perfect, he IS the baron. It is a adult series, so dont watch with kids. The only thing the 2021 does better is Paul, his dad, the desert, the worms and the sadukar. Thats it. The rest is way better.

dune 2000 is a great adaptation, its only real flaw is the low budget and for dune fans desperate for faithfull adaptations that's not an issue at all. It does change some stuff however, some smaller characters are removed or merged together. Irulan has a much larger role in the miniseries than in the book and early paul is a bit more petulant than the book, (which is fine because book paul starts as a 30 year old in a 15 year old body, where the mini-series has him naturally grow into it). ultimately every change made can be summed up as 'we dont have the money to show you this' or 'we dont have the runtime to do this justice' miniseries Baron is amazing though, whenever i imagine the baron i imagine the miniseries baron, albiet with the audible audio-book sexy deep voice.

Ya they got the Baron soooo right in the series. No idea why he is always made to be so dark and edgy in every other adaptation.

I was extremely excited about it but ended up refunding since it was THAT disappointing. In fact, the response from streamers has been so positive that I almost can’t believe it. The game sucks. Honestly, releasing it without multiplayer is a big mistake IMO. Hopefully it doesn't ruin what looks like a great game. Obviously, it's early access, but that means nothing to the masses. Releasing without a massive feature like multiplayer will make a lot of players turn away and never look back, even after multiplayer is added.

How? Ive crippled an ai economicly and it worked, took them a long time to crawl out of that hole/reduced to starting base econ again. It responds quick, but next aim is to target specific resources for the deficit effect.
