I just got mine two days ago. I think you just have to hold your finger on the app until it pulses, the you will be able to move it to the other screen. Very similar to an iPad. It worked for me. It does take longer than it does on the iPad, just be patient and hold it a few seconds longer.

Thanks for your reviews. My family owns a 19 outback, 20 and 21 Crosstrek. As a result of seeing my cars my neighbor bought a 22 Crosstrek! We love them all. But I have one question: why doesn’t the Crosstrek have a fold down sunglass holder in the overhead console like the Outback? That’s the one lack of feature that drives me nuts! Also, just a PSA on the lane centering feature: I only use it on the highway because once when I had it on while driving locally, I moved to the left slightly to avoid hitting a guy riding his bike on the shoulder and as I began to pass him, the sensors activated since my tire hit the center stripe and began pulling me back almost hitting the guy! I had to jerk the wheel left to avoid hitting him! Since then, I don’t use it around town since the streets are narrower.

To keep the cost down. There are lots of features we would like to see (2.4L Turbo) but never will cause Subaru wants folks to buy their other models for such comforts. Biggest thing about the CT is the price both to purchase and own. That is why it's Subaru best seller.

Nice video Alex, and I think Subaru Brand Management will have another home run here. Wow an active lifestyle brand that has great vehicles for people living an active lifestyle! The Wilderness version really differentiates this one from other Crosstreks but perhaps more importantly…the Impreza. It refutes those old arguments about “a few hundred dollars worth of cladding….” As a devoted Forester Premium driver…to my Crosstrek (and “Wilderness” devotees I humbly say…ENJOY getting out there!

Hey Alex, love your Subie updates. My crosstrek is the Outdoor trim of Canada. And what's unique about it is its front view camera which I love coz its very useful for safety purposes. However its wilderness trim, it doesnt have the FV cam, whats their reason for its non-inclusion unlike the wilderness trims of forester & outback? Thanks & more power! 🚙👍

What's the front camera look like on the larger screen and can you use it when the car is in motion? I have a 2024 Wilderness Forester. I surgically got that instead of the 2025 because I LOVE there third screen for three front camera. Useful for off-roading, parking and other things. I couldn't see how that would work with larger screen.

Does the wireless charger actually work in this model? I’m on my 3rd one in my Outback Wilderness and all any of them have done is overheat the phones while they slowly discharge. I’ve tested each until on 4 different phones of different models so it isn’t the phone.

While I dont own a wilderness, my wifes gram has a forester wilderness and I got to drive it a couple times. The all terrain tires have a bit of road noise to them and for the driving I do I would probably switch them out with some all seasons. Other than that, for daily driving it felt no different than my forester touring. Really wish my touring had that front facing cam though. The outbacks and ascents get the birds eye veiw on some trims!

I loved my Crosstrek but had to trade it in for an Outback, just as the OB wilderness came out. The dog outgrew it. Lol. But it didn't have the Harman Kardon audio system. Does the Crosstrek have this?

but is the upgraded towing wiring available? in most states, any trailer over 1000 lbs requires trailer brakes, which requires a 7-pin wiring connection... the Forester Wilderness towing package comes with a 4-pin wiring harness, and the dealer told me they don't have a 7-pin option available, so I'll need to have it upgraded aftermarket in order to actually use the additional capacity. :-(

That’s correct. It comes with a 4 pin harness but aftermarket 7 round is available. I haven’t personally installed but a customer of mine did and works well.

Hey Alex, or does anyone know, why the Xtrek Wilderness uses 17" rims as opposed to the 18" used on the Sport and Limited models? If it's for increaced side wall use off road (trail), why compromise the Sport and Limited? Aren't they also for intended for off road (trail) use? Judging by by their factory groud clearance. Doesn't make sense to give a car 1" more ground clearance by increasing rim size and then take it away in the side wall height?

They are, but not compared to what the Wilderness is meant to do. Those are designed more for the road. The sport is for people who may be active and want an easy car to clean, not a ton of options, but is still comfortable. The limited is for people who prioritize comfort and features.

The EyeSight system is great for blind drivers. For those of us with eyes who focus on their driving we SEE when we are leaving the lane. We SEE when someone jumps in front of us. Its terrifying that the assumption you are a terrible driver comes standard.😳 If you need the EyeSight system, you should not be allowed to drive. (I have over 1 million miles driving and zero accidents in the last 20 years.)

Get a Subaru installed hitch and you’ll have no height issues. Many after market installs go below the bumper and it affects functionality.

I just canceled my hitch due to how much it cuts the departure angle. Subaru uses the same hitch for all crosstreks so it does poke out a lot with the Wilderness bumper

Torklift makes a hitch where the actual receiver detaches with a single big bolt. With the receiver detached, the rest of the hitch frame is completely hidden.

I like the Wilderness. However, the things I do not like is the Touch Screen and no Manual Transmission Option. Give me normal buttons that do not move and change like they do with a Touch Screen and give me a Manual Transmission Option. In addition, Give me a Key. Not having a Key is one less Security Feature.

You can get a Canadian version with the heated steering wheel as it's standard there. And for 19 bucks you can get a plug and play auto start / stop killer. It just makes it default the other way around so default mode is start stop must be turned on if you want it.

Any vehicle with Auto Start Stop does not let you keep it off permanently. Every ignition cycle it’ll be on, it’s just one simple click to turn it off. Only way to keep it off permanently in some vehicles is by changing things in the ECU

Maybe we could go down to the local Walmart and see how many vehicles are parked forward of their parking stalls. Maybe we could check the front spoiler of every low car ( virtually all of them) to see they are scraped from driving to far forward over curbs. All I said was I have a front camera and love it. Did Subaru make the CrossTrex better if you’re T-Boned? I know the 22 and older tested POOR according to the IIHS. If you are T-Boned, you’re likely to be either injured or die.

@@suspicionofdeceit Why would anyone buy a vehicle that has a Poor crash rating? I was in a horrible auto accident in 87. My Toyota was only 30 days old. When I got stopped I could see the front right tire and wheel on the inside of the passenger floor. Thankfully the full size Chevy pickup that T-Boned me hit my car at the “A” pillar. If he would’ve hit the door, it probably would’ve tore my car in half. I had to learn how to walk again. Now 36 years later, at times I have to use my wheelchair to get around. My wife and I both now drive some of the safest vehicles on the road. She drives an Outback and I drive a Forester Touring. Our Subie’s are currently safer than Volvo’s.

@@Doc1855 Afraid this is my first experience with the whole package. After careful study and hours watching videos, I didn't want to leap from Toyota without a safety net. Purchased last week a 2022 Crosstrek Sport with 2.5L engine with low miles from Adventure Subaru in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Downsizing from a midsized vehicle and the 182hp has enough zip in it's game for me. Truly like the whole driving, riding experience and the buttons still rule! Watching many more KZbin videos from Alex Prestigiacomo on this model to improve on my ownership. Yes I have another go to should the need arise to return to the Subaru line. In the meantime, so happy and I can't stop smiling over this purchase.

Subaru next year why don't you double down and go another foot higher with that ugly trash... Crosstrek is a step backwards this year... No Beeps for locking the door ... Blind Spot lights are almost gone completely, the Pleather has been removed and what is up with the Seat head rests not being able to move forward anymore?
