$999 to start is just beyond ridiculous. Not that Samsung ever had the reputation of pushing (in the US at least) their cheaper offerings, always focusing on their flagships but even Apple, YES, even Apple, has cheaper options with specs that are almost identical to their most expensive iPhone for $699. I just hope the higher starting price makes this generations sales tank so this craze of $1,000 flagships comes to an end. The S10 Lite, the Note 10 Lite, the new A71, not sure if they're gonna do a A81 or A91 this generation but those are all great phones and in most cases half the cost of a new S20.

But again, as someone else said, nothing else can really be upgraded. wouldn't it be extremely marketable and innovative to make (modular) environment friendly phones like the fairphone mainstream? That's because innovation is becoming stagnant. Really at this point it's about the only thing that can really be improved upon for smart phones we reached out limits. Next wave is the folding smart phones. It's funny because we are actually losing features. I have xperia xa2 and I cannot tell you how much I love a dedicated camera button. Yet... it's hardly used anymore on newer smarphones. Now 3.5mm jack is also going by by. At this point camera and display are the biggest things that you see that get upgraded the most. What's surprising is the s20 only having 511ppi density where as the xperia 1 has 643ppi and the xperia 1 having a better resolution. And that released last year.

@Zero Thanks for your input, but s10 screen is small like 5.8/6.1. Even the S10+ is only 6.4. I like big screens. The A71 is 6.7, decent specs and camera. I don't do heavy gaming, so I don't need top of the line chip/GPU. I usually replace a phone once every 3yrs unless there is catastrophic failure. But no way will I pay $1400 when I can get up to 80% functionality on something worth $400. That extra $1000 can be invested in more productive ventures.

Dave, the front camera on ALL of the S10 phones was one wide focal length with a crop option. The only addition on the S10+ was a depth sensor, which was unnecessary and so they dropped it.

I thought the S10+ just had a depth sensor on the front inside the pill. That's why there wasn't much difference feature wise between it and the regular S10. The depth sensor was used for portrait camera shooting modes while the regular S10 used software to do the same.

The galaxy phones just look the best to me IMO so I'm bummed there's no more headphone jack.
