Solid review. I have both the Patriot 9 and a Prime 26 (for commuting) - really love the single attachment point, and as you said, it definitely stays put better than my previous packs.

Hey, I've been looking at the patriot 9 and I want to know how much can fit in it, what are your impressions? Could it fit a hoodie inside for example?
@1pho3nixmatt3 жыл бұрын
@@tinfilkovic4174 it probably would fit in the expansion part, but would make it pretty bulky tbh - maybe go for the patriot 15

Great review! The back protector definitely sold me. I now have one on order. Keep up the great reviews!!!

Initially lost me at the location it clips because my camera... but that accessory strap is sweet. I originally balked at the price but it's right in there with the stuntman pricing. If my current pack fails me this will definitely be the one I buy.

Thanks Gene for showing us this, I had never heard of this brand until you had this video. Sick of my Camelbak, the quick connect on their hydrations pack always seems to break. Like the strap design so this maybe in order but a smaller version.
@mikieson4 жыл бұрын
Nice..however I would say,if they are doing something different they should go all out and just include the camera mount harness as the only option not an add-on...just looks better on their part plus add-ons typically don't sell well..thanks for a new video Gene..

a thing that my Evoc Neo 16L has that no other backpack I found so far has is external back protector that actually makes it cooler(literally temperature wise), which the Enduro backpack did not, so it was warmer. but just for cooling that thing works nicely, I would want it just for that reason alone.I knew of USWE, but did not go for it. also the backpack does not go as far down, but instead it's bulkier, back protector does not go down as far, but my Evoc Enduro 16L did not go as far down as the Neo 16L.

Had one. Really liked it until I loaded it with a lot. The weight made the strap dig into my collar bone and had way to much pain. I’ve switched to an Evoc and fits me better

Thanks for the review, Gene. I have two USWE packs, both smaller than the Patriot, and do like them a lot. Your review of the action cam mount was what I was looking for, and seems like a great accessory. On a related-use note, would you say the Hero 4 gimbal-mounted setup still performs better than the Hero 8 with built-in stabilization in real-world use?
@rgmtb4 жыл бұрын
I'll be 100% honest with you, I had to take that gimbal out of my archive box of video gear to take that shot. Personally, I do feel the gimbal will give you a smoother shot but I'm simply tired of wearing the thing and worrying about breaking it. The GoPro 7/8 give me all the stabilization I need for the level of quality I'm looking for. My channel is not based completely on POV so the ride videos I produce are just fun videos where people can see themselves on KZbin and learn about trails that they might not have tried yet. I'm totally cool with that and it seems to be working. If you need studio, crazy good quality then maybe I would lean towards the gimbal but that's not needed here. When I'm not using my Henty pack that I love for shorter rides I'll be using a USWE for sure!
@fusabike4 жыл бұрын
@@rgmtb Thanks for the comprehensive reply Gene, much more useful, qualitative feedback than the one-liner replies typical from other KZbinrs. GoPro took $100 off the Hero 8 Black and I've been contemplating an upgrade for a while, and I really dont want to fuss with a second set of batteries and a fragile gimbal...this coming from a guy who crashed and broke a rib riding with a gimbal on Whole Enchilada. Is the mounting plate for the GoPro pretty stiff, or is it just a piece if flexible rubber or plastic? I'm hoping it's stiff enough to spread out the impact if you do crash chest first with it, as I did. Thoughts?

Nice review! Looks like a great pack! Do you use hydration bladder and back protector at same time or do the utilize the same pocket in the pack? Will they both fit with full Hydration Bladder?

Nice pack!! 1st time I’ve heard of USWE. Does that mean I live under a rock?? 🤷♂️ how does the bladder close up/hold up? I realize you were stoked about the chest mount; but you kind of blew by the bladder. Thanks

Cameras, I wish I had cameras, I only have GoPro 4 session and my phone, they are cameras but, I want a real photography & video camera apart from an action camera. I have a 16L backpack So I can fit a proper camera, I have done that only once, when borrowing a camera before I had a smartphone.

Thanks for a really through video - it really helps! Quick question, if I put in my own hydration pack, is there an outlet on top area of the bag for the tube?
@rgmtb4 жыл бұрын
Yes there is. I actually have been using my own water bladder with this pack, same as you. There are outlets on both sides of the top of the pack to let the hose enter the bag. Works just fine ;-)

@@rgmtb Fantastic, thanks man! I've just ordered one actually which should arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to having the Go Pro mount too so no more hassle of separate mounts. One thing tho which the backpack lacks is a rain cover, that would have made it complete.

I'm confused, does this pack come with the hydration bladder? No mention of it in the "uswe patriot 15" ad on Amazon.
@errodile4 жыл бұрын
JimJiggaNYC It doesn’t come with a bladder. However, the foam back protector pad is included.
@jimjigga4 жыл бұрын
@@errodile thanks, what exactly is the function of the back protector? What is it used for? I know it protects your back, from what?
@errodile4 жыл бұрын
JimJiggaNYC That’s about it. It should offer some extra protection to your spine in case you manage to flip your bike over and land on your back. I for one feel safer when I ride around rocky trails with the back protector on.

4:41 I am curious, for the ladies out there how comfy would it be ? you know boobs. also I am curious about the plastic loops the straps go through are they noticeable how do they feel long term? I have only tried one bag in a store and it was their smaller style of bag, with nothing in it but I liked the strap system how easy it was to adjust it and that it can fit so many sizes of people. I did not notice them when trying it in the store, but I did not have any weight, so that's not a fair test, nor did I ride with it.
