Thank you for this. A few months ago I ended up not buying one because couldn’t find enough info on them. Ended up buying one today then finding this video and super happy with purchase while waiting for it to come in after this vid

Just bought one today, wish I had seen this video first, but thankfully this validates everything I was hoping for.

I have both of these now, thanks to your vid. Important to note that the bladder size is different btw the two. My 3L bag came with 2L bladder, 9L bag with 3L bladder. Thanks!

Thank you. This is exactly the review I was looking for and wish I could have found one on the Ranger. I'm looking for a pack for my upcoming offroad motorcycle adventure. Just like you, I went with the Airborne 3 for mountain biking and discovered it is to small for what I would like(need) to carry. I was a Camelback Mule guy but the design and comfort of the USWE is superior to me. Even when I crank it down for jumpy downhill runs it's still comfortable. Based on this review, I see that this is what I need for longer bike rides and will work great for my motorcycle use as well. I prefer to carry most of my weight on the moto bike, but this pack will allow me to carry the items I want quick access too on the trail that just won't fit in the Airborne 3. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

great review! I think they make the outside pouch at 5:15 open up to put a helmet in and then you synch it up. The way you have yours works as well. Cheers!

This is the review I have been looking for thanks. I'd also like to see the inside of the Moto version of the 4L Ranger but can't find one anywhere. Quite aggravating. Those colorways match really well too and probably would have been my set up, but that helmet was out of stock so switched to white. Good comparison.

Bladder is made by Hydrapak and they make great bladders. To clean the tube you need the long small tube cleaning brush. Remove both ends and run the long brush through the tube.

Excellent review. I bought the Airborne 9 partly based on this review. One thing I wished I'd paid more attention to is the fact that your water bladder is only about 1/3 full. I live in the desert, so I'm filling that thing up to the max of 3L. Unfortunately, that means the pack becomes too full to store much gear at all, becomes misshapen, and gets very sloppy on the back. When the bladder is full, it becomes a cylindrical shape, which raises it off the back and pushes into the remainder of the storage area. Other than that, it's amazing, but sadly, I'll be sending it back. I thought about the larger Airborne 15, but don't see how the bladder issue would be any better. The search continues....

thanks for this ! when you were running or biking how was the bounce ? I think i would be fine if i can fill the bag full and not have it bounce around like all other packs
@crembz4 жыл бұрын
I've experienced a similar thing. You need to really tighten the straps a lot which makes it uncomfortable if running a full bladder and pack. In that case I found it no better than any other pack for stability

I just bought the Airborne 9. Awesome pack. Going from a bag with the waist and chest straps this is amazing lol. I hated riding the dirt bike with the waist and chest strap bags. Too much bounce.

Could a 16” long bladder fit in the 3L pack? I don’t carry much gear but I drink water like crazy and would love a small pack with a 3L hydration bladder. Plus, the 3 is currently on sale!

I love these bags, I just wish USWE would build in a integrated GoPro mount into the single connection point... or that they would come up with some sort of shoulder Go Pro mount.

Since im riding Enduro trail rides,i meant to buy Airborne 15...and was pretty scared of space if i would be able to fit tools,some spare parts if needed etc... But seeing now how big is the Airborne 9 it wont be to much trouble ? Thanks for the video!!

Is the airborne 9 significantly more comfortable than the Mule when loaded? My experience with a loaded mule hasn’t been good.
@zer0bytes20005 жыл бұрын
They claim it doesn't move around on your back.... Does it? I currently have a CB Mule and cross connect the lower clasp with the upper to create a tighter fit so the pack doesn't move up and hit my helmet when I jump, but its hard to get the fit right. I am going to try a Runners pack because if anything, a Runners pack should not move around on your back when your bouncing up and down.

how do you clean the bladder's tube?
@johanenlund6165 жыл бұрын
I´ve never done that. Always putting my bladder and tube into the freezer after using it. That keeps bacteria away! I'm only having water in it though.

After use just blow air through tube so it dry

@battistaverardi124011 ай бұрын
This is my take on these packs and I’m very disappointed. Only 2 years of everyday use and this pack literally fell apart. The straps stretch to much and weaken and rip apart, the snap piece ripped apart and the quality of materials is sub par. There is only so much duct tape, glue and needle and thread to use that I will never be buying these packs again!
