That was so moving staying true to yourself when it's gets hard. She did what was best for her and I'm so proud she is my all time favorite player. From the time she was little she knew what she wanted to do and not many people can say she completed her dreams.

Using one word to sum her up, (GREATNESS). I've seen her play numerous times, and I'm always in awe watching her perform her God given natural abilities. In the truest since of the word, she is a BALLER. The PITCH loves her, and so do we.

Sydney Leroux is the next great USWNT forward. Alex Morgan is blazing fast and can score with the best of them. But, I think Leroux has that X factor like Wambach had. Time will tell! Also: her fiance:(Dom Dwyer) is a baller! Even though hes from England. The USA are foolish not to consider him for national team duty.

Okay, I cant say I believe a word she says. She says she stopped wanting to play for Canada because they were mean to her, and then the next sentence says how it was her dream to play for the U.S. all along. So maybe they didnt like her because they knew she didnt have her heart in it representing her country or maybe she made it up to get herself sympathy. In almost all of her interviews she says she wanted to play for the best team to prove she could make it. The world cup is about representing your country not chosing the team you think has the best chance of winning or that you think youll have a harder time making. What really gets to me is she had to find her estranged father to get him to sign her U.S. citizen forms, that was her only tie to the states.

pilotdansidd Amen. Just because you "play for the the best" does not make you the best. How many minutes has she played this world cup? Not a starter? She's just another player on that roster.. with the advanced youth programs in the U.S she will be put to side even more. She could of been the face of Canadian women's soccer! A face that well represents Canada, Multicultural. If the girls on the team were "mean" possibly because she was mixed, we would have a all white squad, pretty much like the U.S, but we don't. She claims she didn't fit in, and then says "I didn't fit in when i was in Arizona" YOU CLAIMED YOU DIDN'T FIT IN CANADA, SO YOU JUST BAIL. It's bs. She had a teenage nasty attitude and did as she pleases and was probably talking trash about how she's going to the States to win. She is NOT american, she is Canadian. her background of her amazing father was american. Begging her dead beat dad to sign a paper to make up for all he's missed in her life. Give me a fucking break. She just trashes Canada like were a vial country. She has a lot of supporters in Canada but she always focuses on the 1 group of retards in the crowd. I supported her up until she got mouthy and arrogant about everything. Stay in America.

First of all they were mean to her! And I don't appreciate you picking at her story she's kind enough to share it with us and you have to be rude about it. Second I doubt there's any player in the world that doesn't wanna play for USA. so many international players play college in the U.S. So when these Canadian girls were being so mean to her is when she probably sawthe USWNT and grow her love for the best team in the world

pilotdansidd I agree that PART of the world cup is about representing your country but we have to remember that this is also her career. She knew the USWNT was the best female soccer team in the world and she wanted to play on the best team. She pursued that with incredible gumption and resolve and as a result has a world cup gold medal. She isn't an anomaly. Karen Bardsley is an American who plays for the English National team. There are also plenty of American men who play for the Haitian Men's Football team and let's not forget Diego Costa's decision to play for Spain instead of Brazil due to the fact that he had spent so many years playing in the Spanish League and wanted to honor them. There are so many other examples I could throw out. Leroux's story causes an uproar because she is such a high profile player but the truth is these decisions are made all the time. At the end of the day people could be upset with her decision all they want but again SHE is the one with an olympic AND a world cup gold medal. She set a goal for herself and is achieved it...and for that I have to give credit where credit is due.
