Luke 1:28, "And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women." We could run down the Greek word and meaning for "full of grace" or even look up early Apostolic teachings of the Church Fathers but a question that I had to ask myself was, "If nothing impure can be in the presence of God, how would Mary NOT be sinless? She is the Ark of the New Covenant. She is the mother of the living God. She accepted God's call to hold the gift of Heaven in her arms. How could it be possible that she is not sinless unless God would contradict himself?"

@@thomasatteck8476 God doesn’t have faith in us to obey all of His laws and please Him, but He already showed that to us. That’s why Jesus was sent down to do the work for us. So we transfer our faith to the perfect man, who is Jesus Christ, then God’s righteousness covers us by the blood of Jesus through faith. Romans 3:25 25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;” It’s really simple, and it’s a free gift, given by God, not by mother church. Ephesians 2:4-9 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. He did it not because He had faith in us, but because He loved us first before, even though we love darkness more 1 John 4:10-11 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1 John 3:19 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Roman Catholicism makes salvation a long, complicated process with no assurance of eternal life and forgiveness of all sin. Baptism, Mass, Confession, prayers to Mary and the Saints, good works, and purgatory are all added to faith in Christ. By contrast, the Bible teaches salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone. Bible salvation is God's free gift to any sinner who believes that Christ died for their sins and rose again for their defense. Bible salvation gives immediate assurance of eternal life. No church ever saved anyone, but Christ can and will save everyone who will come and trust Him as their Saviour. Membership or faith in a church does not secure salvation for anyone, but trust Christ and Him alone and you will be saved for all eternity!

Catholics draw some of their theology from the catechism. A serious problem is that teachings of the catechism contradict the bible. The bible should be our only authority for doctrine. We should not seek the dead to pray for us. Intercession from the saints is not biblical. There is one God and mediator between man and a God. The man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5. We do not need another "middle man" or "middle woman". We have an advocate with the father if we sin, 1 John 2:1 Jesus Christ. Is not the repeated hail marys described in here "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9 KJV. The catechism is the doctrine of men.

I was about to mention the same thing you just did. Another point is where in the Bible is the Biblical Canon defined? When did Jesus tell someone in the Bible to write something down? Anyways, I feel sorry for Sola Scriptura protestants because it is actually both unBiblical and illogical principle. We know Jesus established The Church with Peter at the Head in the Bible in the book of Matthew, with so much more evidence in the book of Acts and elsewhere. I used to be a Lutheran. For whatever reason, I was given the grace to start questioning, and come home to The Church.

This is a clever objection to sola scriptura, but a straw-man argument. Reformed Christians don’t claim for something to be true, it must be contained within the revealed Word of God; however, we do claim for something to be true about salvation, knowing Christ, and growing in sanctification and godliness, it’s contained within the biblical narrative, and scripture clearly attests to this. “how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” - 2 Tim 3:15-17 “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” 2 Tim. 4:2-4 “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 Peter 5 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans‬ ‭10:9‬ “but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John‬ ‭20:31‬ John later writes in Revelation, “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,” Revelation‬ ‭22:18‬ ---------------- Show us one passage in the Old Testament where the Israelites are judged by God for disobeying tradition. Each instance of disobedience, God judges based on their neglecting of the Word of God, not based on some continually evolving tradition. From Adam in the Garden, to the prophet Malachi condemning priests, God’s Word is the standard by which we will be judged. Now in Matthew 15, Jesus clearly makes the case that traditions, even among the people of God, can potentially trample underfoot the Word of God. The Pharisees, “teach as doctrine the commandments of men.” While tradition isn’t inherently bad, Paul strictly warns that “if he or an angel from heaven should preach a Gospel contrary to the one you received from him, let him be accursed. As we have said before so now I say again, if anyone preaches a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1. This should cause us to carefully examine the gospel we believe. Paul even warns that the devil masquerades as an angel of light, seeking to devour and deceive. Paul states that the Galatians, in simply adding one single thing to the Gospel (circumcision), have potentially fallen from grace, and severed Christ. Scripture doesn’t contain all truth, but it is the Christians ultimate source of truth, meaning any argument, dissension, or dispute regarding doctrine should be reasoned using scriptures, just as the Bereans in Acts are commended for examining the scriptures daily to see if the news of Christ as messiah was true. ---------------- So, where, in scripture, does God say continually revealed tradition holds the same authority as the word of God? If it doesn’t, one must examine their heart, asking if he’s putting his faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to save the world by dying for our sins, as revealed in scripture; or, rather, in the teachings, leadership, and authority of men. Scripture is a lion, a two edged sword, a light, living and active. I, nor any other Christian, need defend it, all we need to do is proclaim it. I can’t convince anyone scripture is sufficient for knowing God, only God can.

I'm a protestant currently attending RCIA, discerning jointing the Church. I don't struggle with the Marian dogmas per se. I do struggle with the Rosary and anything that seems to emphasize Mary more the Christ, at least in terms of quantity. But that said, I actually find the emaculate conception a very satisfying explanation, not that my level of satisfaction is a barometer of truth. It still gives Jesus' saving work on the cross the credit for her being born without original sin. God's saving grace is not bound by time and space. So the saving grace of the cross was applied to Mary retroactively at the time of her conception to preserve her from original sin. Therefore, she was born without a sin nature like the rest of us. However, she still had the ability to sin, just as sin-less Adam and Eve had the ability to sin. But she chose not to. She chose to cooperate with God's grace and be obedient to his call as the hand maid of the Lord. So, she is a microcosm of salvation. She succeeded where Eve failed, and thus Jesus succeeded where Adam failed, which brings salvation. That, to me, is the important point. The dogmas around Mary are important precisely because of what they say about Jesus.

Regarding your struggle with the rosary It could maybe help you tò think that every time you praize Mary you are actually implicitly praizing God who Is responsabile for making her "full of grace", free from sin and the mother of God. So by praingnthe rosary you glorify Mary for accepting the grace God save her and making It bare fruit but you also praise God that made this possible. Even in the hail Mary prayer every time that Is mentioned something about Mary Is clear that God Is the One who caused It, for example "hail Mary full of grace the Lord Is with you" the grace was granted by God and this words are taken from the gospel of Luke, "blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus" She Is blessed by God and the fruit of her womb Is God, "Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for US sinnera" we ask her tò pray and intercede for us tò God. Everything in the Hail Mary Is related tò God so you are not honoring Mary more then God. Besides that praying the rosary Is not required tò be saved or tò be a good Catholic, though Is very helpful. There is a vast difference between being born again of the Holy Spirit and being created, but having no sin (as in the case of Adam and Eve), and being born of the corruptible seed of Adam. Being born of the Holy Spirit is when one is born of the corruptible seed of Adam, but at some point in that person's life, when he or she came humbly and broken to Christ (only) by faith, and then was baptized in the Holy Spirit, he or she became regenerated. When a person is born sinless, that person is not contaminated by the corruptible sin of Adam, which is why scripture refers to Jesus as the second Adam. Only Jesus holds this place among ALL of humanity (past, present, or future).

@dallasmcquarrie1937
@dallasmcquarrie1937 6 жыл бұрын
It is the long-established teaching of the Church that, in matters of faith and morals, the ultimate authority for the individual is his or her "informed conscience." I share my view of informed conscience with Saint John Paul II who dealt with the issue of the supremacy of the 'informed conscience' in one part of his book Crossing the Threshold of Hope (Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1994; p 190-191). In his book, John Paul II wrote “If a man is admonished by his conscience - even an erroneous conscience, but one whose voice appears to him as unquestioningly true - he must always listen to it. What is not permissible is that he culpably indulge in error without trying to reach the truth. If [Cardinal] Newman places conscience above authority he is not proclaiming anything new with respect to the constant teaching of the Church. The conscience, as the [Second Vatican] Council teaches, 'is man's sanctuary and most secret core, where he finds himself alone with God, whose voice resounds within him.' " John Paul II goes on to explain that the supremacy of conscience has been the Church’s teaching from the beginning and “echoes the teaching of the Fathers and the theological tradition from Saint Thomas Aquinas to John Henry Newman.” It is to be noted that the importance of 'informing' one's conscience requires on-going effort, including prayer and meditation on Scripture and Church teaching, as well as the consultation of a variety of relevant sources on any given issue. It is NOT simply a matter of personal preference, but the making of a decision based on careful consideration and study of all the factors and sources available to one. As John Paul II explains, what is not permitted is to ‘stifle’ one’s "informed conscience” for any reason, including Catholic doctrine. As John Paul II notes, neither the Church, nor the instruction of Catholic doctrine, can or should or could replace ‘informed conscience.’ Putting ‘Catholic doctrine’ ahead of the teachings of the Messiah who is supposedly the basis and inspiration of those teachings would be a classic case of putting the cart before the horse or, in this case, according the created priority over the Creator. The supremacy of conscience presupposes that one has sincerely searched for the moral truth pertaining to the issue one is facing. One would do this by consulting sources of moral wisdom, including, but not limited to, Scripture, Church teachings, theologians, philosophers, relevant scientific authorities and so on. The process must take place in the context of prayer and meditation while listening attentively for the voice of God speaking in what Catholics call the "inner forum." The most authoritative source of all is, of course, the teachings and deeds of Jesus. One starts from the presumption that the Church, having many capable minds for considering moral theology, is likely to be correct, but that ‘default’ position is not carved in stone when other data seems to contradict what the Church teaches. When a Church teaching ‘doesn’t ring true,’ the person must take great care to inform his or her conscience as best he or she can. One Church teaching I very much agree with is that the failure to follow one’s informed conscience is a sin. I won’t get into much detail on the fact that there was no teaching of ‘papal infallibility’ for almost 2,000 years. Then Pius came along, in the 19th century after Christ, and proclaimed himself infallible. Pope Pius went on to 'infallibly' reject freedom of speech and religion, not to mention public education, and some other things the Church has since, thankfully, abandoned.

@@MTD463 Please do not misunderstand me. I do not see the different phases in my salvation journey as ‘sacraments’. I regard my salvation process in a more organic way, If that explains it better. Justification by faith alone is what Christ did for me when I believed his sacrifice on The cross at Calvary was for the remission of my sins and now that my life has been changed, I grow in my understanding through the study of His word which to me is God sanctifying me. It Is a process not a series of checkpoints. Salvation is freely offered by God at any time, the dying thief springs to mind and yes I have heard the reasons given. I believe that the important baptism of believers is spiritual but then there are those who say baptism is a necessary physical act in order for someone to be counted as saved which just sounds like a works based salvation to my mind. I think the difference between us is I believe that I do not have to accomplish anything by performing rituals in order for me to be saved and my works or that which I do to glorify my Heavenly Father stem from the fact that I have been saved.

God can but did He. Where in scripture does it discuss any of the things you said in answer to the gentleman's question. You went all around the questions but never answered them with sighting scripture. You will have to do better than that. Yes God did divinely inspire his disciples, Peter included, but where does it say in scripture Peter's successors will be "divinely inspired." And I don't remember Peter being called THE POPE. If anyone deserves that title it would be the HEAD of the Jerusalem Council, James. By the way, those who are honest in the Protestant Church KNOW it isn't perfect this is why Christ is held up as the Divine Authority through his scripture and never a man.

Now he was asked would the man be saved if he did not follow certain doctrine and aspects of Catholic faith .. He answered that. He was not asked for scriptural justification. In addition Jesus said "whatever you bind on Earth will be considered bound in Heaven .. " Jesus gave the authority to the Church to expand on areas that needed it and to interpret scripture. --- Not the 35K protestant churches that sow division and confusion ... You say where in scripture does it say Peters successors -- Well if we relied on all that is said in scripture alone we would find 1/ nowhere does it say scripture alone and 2/ Nowhere does Jesus say to write anything down or record his teachings ... so according to your rule we would not have the New Testament (which comes out of Catholic tradition ..)

Because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. And because there was no sinless one on earth, God, had to send his only begotten son,who became our sacrifice, and we have to believe in his death, burial, and resurrection to be saved. 1Cor: 15 : 1-4. and nothing else.

Actually he didn’t use her because she is a finite human being and any atonement she could make would be finite it takes a divine person to atone for and infinite offence (which all sin is) which is why god himself had to do it on behalf of mankind. Mary was made truly sinless because not only Christ needed to be free of original sin but as nothing unclean can enter heaven God could not take human flesh from an unclean woman, if God attempt such a thing with a woman with sin she would die at first contact.

Catholics will tell you that works do not save us, and that salvation is only through Christ. They'll say salvation is a gift (which is true) BUT to receive God's gift, we have to "cooperate" with God's grace through faith AND works. Huh? That doesn't even make sense if you teach that works don't save us. They say it's only because of God's grace that we are able to do good works, and that without His grace, we cannot do good works. And those good works are the "pathway" to salvation. So... that clearly means you believe works are required for salvation. Which clearly contradicts what the bible says.

Even our thoughts can be evil. Nobody is perfect or ever will be. But guess who lived that perfect life for us, since we couldnt? Jesus did. How is your way not a works-based salvation? John Betts The point of the sacrifice is that without Jesus' sacrifice, there's no salvation.. there's no way we can pay for our sins.. we need to believe that in order to be saved.. but that doesn't end there as shown in scripture.. The life Jesus gave us is not just consist of not sinning.. the good works God expects from us is more than that.. I will give you 5 scripture verses as part of many Catholic basis that Salvation requires our cooperation.. James 2:24 James is saying, we are justified by works and not just faith alone.. Romans 2:6-7 Paul here is saying our works will be rewarded and the reward is eternal life.. Gal 6:7-9 Paul say whatever we sow, we will also reap.. the fruit is eternal life.. here Paul is preaching to not grow weary in doing good works.. Matthew 12:36-37 Jesus is saying that on the day of judgement we will be justified by the words that we speak.. Matthew 25:31-46 Again here Jesus described what will happen on the day of judgement.. He will separate the sheep from the goat.. the sheep are those who gives drink to the thirsty, give food to the hungry.. etc.. the goat are those who were doing the opposite.. both goat and sheep may be proclaiming Jesus is Lord but the sheep is doing what the Lord is expecting from them and was rewarded eternal life.. I encourage you to meditate on these verses.. praying that God may enlighten you.. P.S. There are a lot more scriptural basis in many articles from Catholic Answers website if you still want more.. God bless you..

It's merely a misunderstanding that dividers people further. Catholics teach and believe the ENTIRE Bible as it is, so God said salvation is through faith alone and not works so as a catholic you believe that. The Bible also talks about having to do good works so we believe that we need to do good works as well. You can't just do good works without faith and be right with God. Protestants believe the same albeit they teach this differently. They say faith alone will save you and doing good works wont, but they also have relief efforts for disasters, help the poor and missionaries to help people, so they do in fact believe in good works as well. It's merely a misinterpretation of the faiths.

@@lydiapetra1211 Ah okay, got it. Now I see what you were trying to say. Fairly long reply ahead, just as a warning, so read on only when you have the time, alright? So to begin, I have never seen an instance where Mary sinned. Not everyone has sinned. Consider an infant. By definition, an infant has not sinned, and cannot sin. There's one exception there. It's not impossible for Mary to be another. "Dead" is an unfair misrepresentation of those in Heaven. They are alive in Christ. Since they are alive, we can ask them to pray for us, just like any Christian. Idolatry requires worship, by its very definition. Catholics are careful not to worship saints and angels, so no idolatry there. Prayer does not necessitate worship. We only worship God, just like you. In Exodus 19:6, God tells the Israelites through Moses, “and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” Whoa, there... Moses called a whole NATION holy, when only God is Holy? Or is there another possible definition for "holy?" How about "consecrated to God," or "blessed by God." Or even "chosen by God." Last I checked, so was Mary when she was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. Which leads us to our next point. Jesus is God. You affirmed that you, too, believed that in a previous comments thread. Since Mary is the mother of Jesus, she's the mother of God. Simple as that. However, this does NOT make her above God, as I'm sure you would agree. God Bless!

The Assumption The question Pope Pius XII posed to bishops and theologians worldwide was essentially whether or not it was opportune to define this dogma at that point in time ie 1950. There was no debate about the teaching, as it was long established and universally believed. Even many of the Protestant reformers, including Martin Luther, believed in the Assumption (at least at various times in their lives). As an aside-it is interesting to note that Pius XII does not include in the dogma’s definition whether or not Mary died before her assumption. Instead, he chose to use the somewhat ambiguous phrase “at the end of her earthly life,” which avoids the question. There is no official Church teaching on whether or not Mary died, although there is a long tradition in the West that she did. In the East, however, they refer to Mary’s dormition, or going to sleep, rather than a death. The Assumption is a historical event. Although it is true that the end of Mary’s life is not explicitly described in Scripture, there are allusions to it, passages that resonate with the truth of the Assumption. Here are a few examples: “Arise, O Lord, into your resting place: you and the ark, which you have sanctified” (Ps. 132:8). An ancient tradition compares Mary to the Ark of the Covenant; in that light, this passage’s reference to the sanctified ark being brought to the Lord’s resting place can be seen as speaking of Mary’s assumption. “Come with me from Lebanon, my bridge; come with me from Lebanon” (Song of Sol. 4:8). “And a great portent appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars” (Rev. 12:1ff). We do not rely on Scripture for our belief in the Assumption, but Scripture does sort of “point to” it. Fortunately, there’s more to justifying the Assumption than Scripture. There are also some interesting historical reasons for our belief, including the unbroken consistent belief down through the centuries. There are extant manuscripts, and fragments, that date back as far as the second or third century that document the early Church’s belief in the Assumption. The Assumption is celebrated in the liturgy as early as the fifth century in Palestine, the sixth in Gaul, universally in the East in the seventh, and in the West in the eighth century. In some of the early literature, there is legitimate disagreement about whether or not Mary died before being assumed. However, there is no disagreement as to whether or not she was assumed. There is another fascinating historical reason to believe in the Assumption. There are two claims to tombs of Mary-one in Ephesus and one in Jerusalem. However, there are no claims that either tomb is the permanent resting place for Mary’s body, nor are there any supposed relics. Why would this be? We have relics from the earliest Christians, including the apostles and other contemporaries of our Lord. So if there were relics to be had, why in the world would Our Blessed Mother’s relics not be constantly publicly venerated? The simple answer is, because her relics are not to be had. Her body is not on earth, as it was assumed into heaven at the end of her life. Sola Scriptura rebutted 2 Peter 1 20-21 the bible can’t interpret itself Sola fide rebutted James 2 20-24 Protestantism heretical Rom 16 17-18 Thus if one uses the language of the Bible, one would say that “a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law . . . not by faith alone . . . for faith apart from works is dead . . . but faith working through love” (Rom. 3:28, Jas. 2:24, 26, Gal. 5:6). When Protestants claim the unbiblical Faith alone mantra, they typically ignore Mt 25 31-45 with its emphasis on good works! Usual selective biblical cherry picking! No organisation, such as Protestantism can survive without hierarchy & a unifying authoritative interpreter, the fruits being confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects, resulting from personal interpretation, which is not of Jesus who willed unity Jn 17 11-21 No Protestant has ever been able to explain why personal interpretation, if guided by the Holy Spirit has resulted in 000’s sects proving that either the Holy Spirit is wrong or more likely, Protestantism! There are none so blind as those with a darkened intellect which the Holy Spirit obviously isn’t enlightening! Have you ever considered the damage caused to society by relativism, caused by there being many “truths” which have resulted in contraception, which until 1930, all denominations prohibited until the Anglican broke away in 1930, abortion, IVF, divorce, SSM, LGBGT, transgenderism etc. Protestantism has a lot to answer for!

The bible tell us how to be saved: Believe that Jesus is God who came in the flesh, died on the cross for our sins, was resurrected three days later, and now sits at the right hand of God (the Father). Essentially, all one must do is trust in Jesus as God who can save us from our sins, by asking Him to save us. The penitent thief is in heaven today and all he did was ask Jesus to remember him when He went to His kingdom. The caller rightfully questions unbiblical doctrines of the Catholic church. Jesus warned us not to add or take away from His Word, however it seems there are many Catholic doctrines that do just that. I believe that despite believing the heretic doctrines of the Catholic church, Catholics can and will be saved if they put their faith alone in Christ alone, and not in their works. We cannot do anything at all to save ourselves, which is why the penitent thief is in heaven, because he could do nothing more than trust and believe. Amen!

The Catholic is NO DIFFERENT from any other sinner in the sight of a Holy God. We are all sinners and need to be saved. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. So said the apostle Paul in 1 Timothy. When ANY SINNER realises that they PERSONALLY are sinners, also that Christ died for them Personally, then when they turn to God from their sins, believing that God will keep His word. They will be saved. John ch. 3 v 16. Ephesians ch. 2 v 8. Romans ch. 5 v 1. plus many many more. For it is not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy He saves us.

You are absolutely correct that Catholics are sinners too. However, we acknowledge our sins and confess to them. Because of this, we are able to receive God's sanctifying grace. The rest of the world does not acknowledge their sins, and in some cases like homosexuals they are actually proud of their sins and embrace them. That is a massive difference.

Also, there is no one righteous, no not one. This is clearly taught in the bible. Do not twist the scriptures and ignore salvation by faith alone. One God, one mediator, and it is not the pope. For all Protestants who take umbrage at this: If you are confused about the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception etc, you might recall that our Lord, being a Jew and subject to Jewish Law (Mosaic and Levite Laws) obeyed the Law given by God to man. And insofar as Jesus is Divine, co-eternal with the Father and Holy Spirit, He adheres to such eternally. Of the 10 Commandments first given by God to Moses, reflect on the 4th. You know we all are responsible to the Moral Law in our own lives. Insofar as we are in Christ as Christians, we too are called to do this, to honor His Father and His Mother as He does. And Jesus does honor Mary as above Himself. She in response magnifies Him, for how perfect in the Virtue of Humility she had been made by and for Him.

Hi, please see Matthew 12:46-50 Jesus’ Mother and Brothers 46 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” 48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. This clearly indicates that Jesus does not put Mary above him. He clearly said that those who do the will of our God in Heaven is his brother, sister and mother. Yes.Jesus honors Mary in the same way a son honor his earthly parents but he did not exalt Mary into Godhood.

The Bible no where says that Mary is sinless, that is why he provided no Bible verse that teaches such a thing, I find it funny that Catholics will use the Bible to defend their position whenever the Bible has soemthing to say on it or at least can be interpreted one way seemingly, but when it comes to Mary they never find any Bible verses, how fishy that is Want to know why? Because no where in the Bible is Mary called sinless, no where does she say it and no where does God or anyone else say in, in fact calling her sinless contradicts the Bible heavily Go read in Luke it is I believe where Mary herself calls God her savior, savior means you are being SAVED, if she was sinless she wouldn't NEED a savior, her calling Jesus her savior clearly shows she out of her own words she contradicts what Catholics say about her Not only does Mary call Jesus her savior but she goes on to keep talking about the Lord, never once do you see her talk about herself in the way Catholics talk about her Funny how he has no bible verses to back up anything they claim about Mary His answer is "it's infallible so you can't argue against it" Wow, that's like a Jehovah witness saying you can't argue against us because "our teaching is infallible" That's like a Muslim telling you saying Jesus did not die on the cross and you can't argue against it because our teaching is "infallible" Guess what, just because you say your teaching is infallible doesn't mean it is I can say my teaching is infallible that doesn't mean it is You have to give evidence and show why your claim is infallible and when it comes to Mary they all show no where in the Bible is Mary exactly how Catholics say Notice how Catholics will pull up Bible verses to prove and show Mary was the mother of Jesus but when asked for proof or evidence of the other claims about her being sinless they can't find any Bible verse and instead you have to lack a brain and just "assume it's an infallible teaching not found in the Bible" JESUS SAID why do you call me good, there is none good but God Mary being sinless contradicts many Bible verses that clearly teach people need a savior and no where does it say Jesus death was applied to Mary before hand That's a teaching that is just made up Also he tried to say Adam and Eve was born sinless as to try to prove that means Mary could be Except that's a bad argument because Adam and Eve DID sin so they are NOT sinless and thus the Bible is true when it says we need a savior Funny how he just dismisses the fact adam and Eve DID sin as if that was no big deal That's why they need a savior because they DID sin Like wise I see nothing in the Bible that says Mary was sinless I see the exact opposite of Mary calling Jesus her savior and saying she needs a savior Mary no where talks about the rosary or thinks she is like how the Catholics teach So your two options are to believe and assume Catholics are infallible even though it contradicts the Bible and contradicts multiple verses and there is no bible verses on Mary to show they are right Or believe what the Bible ACTUALLY teaches that Mary did need a savior which means she wasn't sinless Jesus warned about nulifying the word of God by keeping traditions not found in his word I am going to believe what the REAL Mary said which is she needed a savior just like everyone else Trying to say Mary was sinless but needed a savior is like saying I am not drowning but I need someone to save me from drowning That makes absolutely no sense and is a contradiction While Catholics certainly believe in the core message of Jesus they also hold fast to many traditions not found in the Bible and that blatantly contradict it I was raised Catholic, the Mary issue is a no go for me, anyone who can read can open up their Bible and see that what Catholics teach is NOT what Mary says about herself and contradicts the Bible Hey, if you want to believe a lie that's on you, Catholics who believe Mary was sinless is just about as bad as a Mormon who think Satan is Jesus brother You can show a Mormon that is not what the Bible says and they will still try to defend their belief Like wise Catholics have poor answers when it comes to Mary in the actual Bible yet they hold fast to their false teachings that Jesus warned about I am glad I am not Catholic anymore Oh how convenient it is that your teaching is infallible on Mary when it cannot be backed up by God's written word or the words of Mary herself It's about as convenient as an atheist saying their words are infallible or about as convenient as a Muslim saying their teaching is infallible That just shows how weak of a basis they have that they resort to saying "you have to assume this teaching is infallible or else we can't show you it's true" Anyone can say that I don't care what non sense you try to say, the Bible is very clear on what Mary said and what she didn't say Don't take it from me, I'm not like a niave Catholic who will just believe whatever someone says with no evidence Go read the Bible for yourself It's funny how Catholics only refer to the Bible when they think it supports their position, but whenever their teaching about Mary is questioned they have no real basis for it so resort to infallibility If Mary seen this she would be disappointed that Catholics put words in her mouth that she never said

Christians accept that God has always existed and always will exist. They accept the Holy Trinity. They accept that they and this entire universe were created by God Himself. They accept that God was born of the Virgin Mary and made man, then suffered, died and was resurrected for the salvation of our souls. They accept all these extraordinary things and more without truly understanding any of them, but can’t understand how Mary was born without original sin, therefore, they can’t accept it? What has yet been fully understood? In comparison Mary's immaculate conception is the easiest thing for me to understand.

Of course God uses human beings to speak His Word. But, He doesn't make ONE earthly man the Head of the Church. Jesus is the Head of the body and we are members of the body. No one man is any higher than the rest of the members of the body. Neither was Peter any higher in "rank" than the other apostles or believers. If they preach another Jesus or another gospel besides the one that the apostles received then it is not of God. Catholicism adds to the gospel, as if there is more than what they already revealed. I would rather obey God than man, or a (so-called) priest, or the Pope, or a religious system set up by earthly men. My relationship is with Jesus first, not a religious system first. The church can't save you, only Jesus can! Seek Jesus, not a religion!

I would like to see evidence Mary was sinless. Only Jesus the spotless Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world was sinless because it took sinless spotless perfection to save sinners. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who kept the law perfectly through out his whole life. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.2Corinthians 5:21 Mary herself was in need of the Savior. Luke 1:47 Isn't it strange in the entire NT you do not see anywhere the mention of Mary being sinless and equal with Jesus or God. There is plenty of places in the NT where she could have been slipped right in with Jesus as sinless but mentioned no where. Come on the immaculate conception is false teaching the Catholic church made up. Adam and Eve sinned that fall brought sin and death to the entire human race for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 We all like sheep have gone astray. All have fallen short of the glory of God. Mary broke God's laws just like we all have. If I had Mary here in the flesh today all you have to do is take her down the law she will fail miserably like we all have pointing us to seeing our NEED to be saved from the wrath to come. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who ever lived a perfect sinless life to be the final blood sacrifice for sin. He said it is finished he ment it. No one can keep just the ten commandments perfectly through out their whole life much less 633. Mary did not die for your sins Mary's blood was not on that Cross like a lamb led to the slaughter. Mary was a sinner just like the rest of us in NEED of the Savior. This leads into the next point the papacy infallibility on certain church teachings that is teaching clearly falsely on such things as the immaculate conception among a host of other things.

Correct that she did need a savior (as you pointed out). The salvation (coming from what Jesus did for us on the cross) was simply preapplied to her so that she would be a clean vessel (so to speak) for God's son Jesus. When Gabriel greets her, "hail, Full of Grace", the greek word "Kecharitomene" means "already having been graced" or "having been graced". Mary isn't our Savior (Jesus is). We don't worship her at all...just honor her as the Mother of God. In fact, worshiping Mary would be considered heresy in the Catholic church. As a Catholic, my testimony is that she always leads you to Her son Jesus. For example, at the wedding of Cana, she says "do whatever He tells you". I hope this helps just a bit.

What must a Catholic believe to be saved? According to the Catholic Athanasian Creed, a Catholic must believe God is a trinity. As the creed says: "He therefore that will be saved, must thus think of the Trinity." However, God is not a trinity. As Catholic Edmund Fortman says: 1. "[The OT] tells us nothing explicitly or by necessary implication of a Triune God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit." 2. "If we take the New Testament writers together they tell us there is only one God, the creator and lord of the universe, who is the Father of Jesus." Catholics don't know what to believe.
