I bought those the same time I bought my ivy to hang on the ceiling. Both smelled so bad… like a fishy smell so I threw them in the tub with warm water and dawn dish soap. The water turned green but it didnt affect the color or the integrity of the foliage. I rinsed them well and hung them to dry. Them smell was gone and the greenery didn’t feel as stiff and crunchy if that makes sense.

Oh I didn't even think to rinse them! Such a clever idea! Are you going to store them in their own container? I was thinking of isolating them when I switch them out so they don't make whatever they are packed with stinky too.
