Thank you. You are saving so much stress for these young students. When I went to school in the 70s there was nothing my art teacher knew nothing. This sound corny but you are being a hero Great job 👍 to you and your team 👍

I try to email my list minimum twice per month. I've found that's it's not about what you have to share, but rather what you have to say. More is actually better if what you have to say comes from a genuine place. Sharing stories about your work, life, and experience as an artist can be very impactful for the people who collect your work and it's been hugely successful for me.

This is amazing. I'm a hobbyist/aspiring artist, and this information is so useful. I can't believe how generous Mrs Lieu is with her time and knowledge. Just fantastic x

@@artprof It's also so true what Professor Lieu says about clients not knowing what they want. I have worked in design for many years and I always tell clients they will first get an initial draft to make sure the design is going in the right direction. I find it serves as a talking point to help them formulate their thoughts and ideas. The key is also to not take it personally :)

OMG, I work in a hair salon and there have been people who offered exposure. One time, it was the cheerleaders of the mn timberwolves. They wanted our salon to do the girls’ hair for free and we would get exposure. My boss was like, “no, that’s too much work for too many high maintenance girls and who knows how long they want us to do this for”. He said that to me, not to whoever called and asked. I didn’t even know that was a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ but this was over a decade ago but still.

"Ask for Help." I am definitely meeting the wrong crowd! My problem is that the people that I meet, don't feel as passionate or is not as committed to your vision. Clearly understandable. They have their lives going on.✌️

23:11 I had a phone call from a the mother of a well known person for a senior doctor I was working for, she wanted to do an interview with him about her treatment and said "It will give him lots of exposure". This senior doctor was a few months from retirement and was already well known in his field, so there wasn't anything she could add to his portfolio. I think some people overestimate their importance

I think "for the exposure" is one of the BIGGEST red flags you can ever hear about in the art field... if you ever hear that when discussing a job & there's no mention of money, RUN! - Mia, Art Prof Staff

In terms of Galleries, I found out that they don't accept digital art so all us digital artists will probably never see ourselves in a gallery. Do you have any tips or tricks for us digital artists? Or any videos to link to?
@artprof3 жыл бұрын
This is a great question! There has been a lot of buzz about NFT's lately, it seems to be a controversial development for digital artists. We chat about it here if you'd like to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bavSe4SpeZWcqsU - Mia Rozear, Art Prof Staff

Hahah i' m an architect and people often ask me for a little sketch, just a general idea. Like you can do that blindly. In latin america that is such a huge problem that there is a ton of memes about it...in all creative carreers. It is so frustrating.

That is INSANE-- people really think ideas come naturally and quickly, when they actually take more time than the execution (sometimes) - Mia Rozear, Art Prof Staff

I literally had to take a break from commission work. Society is totally crazy. I get if you are paying your money, you suppose to get what you. BUT DANG! I get terrible reference photos and impossible tasks for the client to complain about fee. They will spend $900 for a belt, but call me a con man because of my fee, for a original, one of a kind piece by a Professional artist.✌️
