Swap both your rear tyres with your front tyres bro. If the vibration switch location to your steering, it means you have bad tires. This is the only way to proof that you have defective new tyres. It happened to me before but the fkin dealership still refuse to change the defective tyre. In the end I bought a new Tyre and problem solved.

0:38 The page you show from Tire Rack says that you need to torque the lug nuts while the vehicle/wheel is off the ground so it can stay centered. In the video it shows one wheel being torqued while on the jack and another wheel is torqued while on the ground. I hope you get it figured out Cam.

Nearly all aftermarket wheels will need hub rings. I bought some Wedssport wheels and they offered really cool hub ring/logo wheel inserts. Nicely made. Won't corrode. Typically tire rack automatically includes plastic hub centering rings. You do have lug nuts that are made for your wheels., right?

When I bought my TE’s from Vivid the rings were a part of what I needed for the wheels with centre caps and lugs. Also I’ve used Michelin’s many times on many cars never had an issue. My Type R has PS4S’s and they were mint when Honda dealership put them on with no issues since. I did have one issue with an old cup tire once but Michelin replaced it right away through warranty. But again all wheel work has always been done at the dealership. They even put a new guide on the tire machine before putting the new tires on the new TE’s.

Hey cam ! Thanks for shining light on this subject, I would have never known about this issue. I always learn something new! Will definitely need to do some research before getting TEs. Im currently having an issue with my FK8 where there is this loud squeaking/vibrating/rattling noise coming from the back. It’s fine on the streets until i hit the freeway and in 5th or 6th gear. This happened out of nowhere while going home on the freeway. Haven’t had time to take it to a shop but hopefully i can take it in soon.

@@Camhill182 I’m not so sure..you can hear it even when the AC is off. it can be so many things..i dont have IG or else i would share a video of the noise with you. From what I’ve gathered it can be the exhaust misaligned, the springs, heat shield, clutch, transmission, etc. im leaning more towards the exhaust being misaligned since i hear it coming from the back. Hopefully it’s just an easy fix.

The fk8 won't tell you the tire pressure because honda is using an indirect tpms system that dosnt use sensors, but the abs sensor on each hub measures how long it takes to make one revolution, and if its much different then the other ones, then it knows there is a pressure issue, that goes for overinflation also, thought you might want to know. Awesome vids man, i know its frustrating but i know you will eventually figure it out. Good luck

Sometimes the aluminum with enough vibration can weld itself to the wheel or sometimes from heat cycles the expansion then contractions of diameters will squeeze the 'cheaper' aluminum into the wheel. Do you have factory or aftermarket lugs? I’m not sure of your car but Honda’s have had ball seat lugs on all the older cars I’ve had. And all aftermarket wheels have conical seats on them. That’s how they center the wheel with the cone shaped lugs and wheel seats. They are called lug centric design as oppose to hub centric design like many BMW or German made vehicles. You can also be extra careful when putting the lugs on to not tighten one down all the way to the wheel but get it close and then get another close and you’ll actually see the wheel get centered. As others have said rotate the wheels to see if vibration moves to the steering wheel. Lastly, the road force balance tells the installer where to mark the tire to rotate on the rim. If they didn’t let the air out, break the beads and spin the tires they didn’t do anything but print some numbers out. I know this because I’ve been into cars all my life and worked for Discount Tire for 10 years. I couldn’t tell you how many tire wheel combo’s I’ve had in the last 30 years of modding and drag racing and road racing Hondas and other imports. Probably 100+ Good luck.

I’m having vibration issues now with my ‘20 Accord with OEM wheels and tires. It didn’t start until I recently got them rotated at Honda. I eventually got them balanced twice(second was road force) at Discount Tire and even got an alignment. The road force balance was just a check, they didn’t actually perform any adjustments because it was within spec. My vibration still exists but it’s barely noticeable now. I just wanted to share this because it’s not just aftermarket wheels and tires that have this issue.

I'm still on my last comment from other video you got scalloped tires .I got 2 sets of tires from tirerack scalloped tires were out of round. I stopped buying from them cause it is a pain to get reimbursed warranty wise and they sent 4 new tires.

Honestly I think it's a quality control thing with the tire manufacturers as of late. I'm having the same issue on a 24 Outback Wilderness that I threw some Falken Wildpeak Trails on last month. I've had them balanced twice, last time was road force balanced at the Subaru dealer. It's not a vibration in the steering wheel, but a pulsation in the floorboard and seats at 65-70 mph. Car had 300 miles on it when I swapped tires. I'm about to file a warranty claim with Tire Rack myself. Good Luck!

For sure. I went down an online tire conspiracy rabbit hole a couple weeks ago. LOL Apparently certain manufactures will source and produce tires from plants in different countries. Falken has a plant in Japan and Taiwan and the enthusiast's will seek out the Japanese variant because they historically have less issues than the Taiwanese. I'd imagine Michelin does the same. Tire Rack has such a huge reach in the market makes you wonder if, in order to maximize profit and keep prices competitive, they source their tires from the cheapest plant. It just sucks because in both our cases we're talking brand new wheels that we know damn well are most certainly true, so it automatically rules them out as the culprit. I feel like a lunatic when I return asking for another balance or rotation because it's still not right.

Have you considered it being a problem with the driveshaft? I had a slight shake at certain rpm sometimes and other times at a certain speed in my tundra. I always assumed it was brakes rubbing of something with my wheels or tires. Also was thinking maybe you have something loose under the car flapping in the win. Make sure no plastic or your engine guard is not loose

Show Vivian the Lexus NX350. Lexus has a much better service situation than Audi, we looked at the Q5 for my wife and ended up liking the NX’s features plus the Lexus service package. It’s also cheaper (starts at $46k with the turbo setup, low 40/ if you go with the 250 and no turbo). You go Audi and they don’t even do free oil changes or anything. They even gave us free stuff at the Lexus store just because we are customers, like mugs and shirts and stuff. Just an idea. Love your Type R content. Don’t feel about your situation that happened to me too back in the day on my first wheel swap. Went through the exact same thing. I’m in a Model 3 now but I loved the Type R while I had it

Rotate the rear tires to the front and see if u can feel a major change in ur ride quality.. if not, then check the rear suspensions.. in my honest opinion small vibration like that i dont care about it cuz my 9th gen is on coilovers, nt03 wheels, rear camber arms, and sway bars.. no vibration for my 9 year old car.

@nattpheomthawee5786 don't know a ton about BMW, but, I do like the X3 M.. But if he can, he should really try to steer clear of larger displacement engines, because trust me, I work in the energy sector, and I'm telling u, as things are progressing, gas will be unaffordable for most Americans in the years to come. And that is by design of our Government. Filling a big v6 or v8 will be brutal. I think the x3 comes in 2.0l, so that would be a nice option.

Bruh just do regular balance, have them move the tire around for whichever is a pain to balance and that’s it. If the wheels are straight, the tires do not have a belt out of place, you got have the hub centric rings, then that should be it.

Enkei is one of the most reputable wheel manufacturers. When you mention fitment they mean it as in your width/offset not your hub bore. You have to get the hub rings on your own, that’s why it’s always good to do research.
