15.14 The guy who came to pick you by car is 'Nimesh Kalhara' a brilliant singer who has even reached the Final 24 of one of the previous "Voice" Srilanka seasons. Recognized him by the way he touched his heart while greeting you, he used to do that when voice coaches commenting on his songs, you can find his performances on you tube, on a separate note it's always better to call in advance and make sure you have all your requirements in place before arriving to places you stay. You can't always rely on reviews.I'm sure you guys know this better than me. Good luck guys, keep exploring! 🍻❤

Those Tuk Tuks can go everywhere! It's actually mind blowing how well they do on the bumpy roads. In Nosara, the town next to Samara in Costa Rica, they are everywhere and they handle the bumpy roads there well. Shayna and I had to take one home to Samara (45 mins) on the bumpy road on our anniversary and it wasn't too bad of a ride! Glad it all worked out for you!

I'm an ex plumber in my favorite part about the shower was the electric hot water heater plugged in right above it with the exposed Outlet😂😂 I guess it's the least a little better than the ones they have in Latin America and Mexico where it goes right on the shower head to the wall😂. Somehow they won't let them use them in America go figure😂😂

New government will improve hill country's infrastructure related to the tourism very soon. They are very concerned to develop the tourism and cleanliness in Sri Lanka. It is a highlighted point in their manifesto, will start digitalization and clean Sri Lanka project in January. Next time you can get a better experience in Kitulgala, Ella and Nuwara-Eliya areas too

It’s just part of traveling. Tuk tuks aren’t meant for 2 hr journeys, having said that, so they need to take that into consideration. Lucky everyone is super nice to them. I was born and raised in the west of Sri Lankan background and I can tell you straight up, not everyone here is as friendly to us on many occasions.

It was a bad choice from the beginning and you both agree with that, I reckon. if I encountered the same situation, I would deflate the tuk tuk's tires as low as possible to continue traveling and to alternate walking and riding to cover the distance. at the end the tuk tuk is carrying the luggage all the way so it worth the payment and I do not fully regret. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country, but in order to enjoy it you need to be smart. Keep up the good work, keep up the enjoyment...

No one forced you into the Tuk Tuk, dont make a mountain of mole hill. Tuks are for short distances mostly. Its no ones fault that you chose this cheap mode of transport. You chose the wrong place in Kitulgala, its actually a very good location mostly for water sports. Dont complain too much.

That's not their fault either, they are paying and have the right to complain, you learn to take criticism first. We have loads of crap coming to our part of the world from Sri Lanka as fake students and then work full time and we the don't complain about that mate. You try to experience things that are not designed for tourists for the sake of your youtube videos. Even locals do not do such things if we had a choice. Having no phone signal means no possibility of uploading videos (our job) also not being able to access or leave the property we booked into would of meant we can’t even go out to the area we intended to explore and would of meant laying around in the room which we never intend to do unless we go on a break away. 👍
