I have mentioned it for four years, to play well in the northern states, you must have an OL that allows the team to run the football. All prior OSU coaches had running and sometimes good passing teams. And bigger DL tackles. When it is windy, cold, snow or rain, passing game falls apart. Wake up Day, recruit some Big linemen. And get a new strength coach. Oregon, Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan shut the lowsy running game down. And Michigan has outcoached you for four years.

JUST STOP BEING A MORON. That had 0, nada, nothing WHAT SO EVER as to why we last that game. At least speak intelligently about why we lost instead of being MEATHEAD. We lost this game for 1 MAIN game related reason and a bunch of other contributing reasons. We lost because of GODAWFL special teams play. We REPEATEDLY allowed punts to hit the turf and then roll 30 yards pinning us inside the 10. EVEN IF you go three and out and you are punting the ball at the 28, the receiving team is getting the punt at about the 20-25 yard line. But if you are punting the ball at the 10 Now they are getting the ball at midfield. So that was a MAJOR contribution. But the death blow on special teams that sank the ship was missing CHIPSHOT field goals. YOU HAVE TO BE AUTOMATIC anytime you are kicking anything inside 40 that means that your LOS for a 40 try is the opponent 23 He missed one from 38 meaning the LOS was the Michigan 21 and he missed a 34 yard try. We make those we WIN. THAT IS THE MAJOR reason we lost. The second reason we lost is the play calling was the worst Ive ever seen out of OSU. Will Howard was clearly not the same after that head shot he took.... Howard goes from 4 straight games of 80% to a 57% and you dont think that is a lot more than UM's defense????? Toughness had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this loss and THAT is the bottom line

From what I have heard Michigan was playing soft in the secondary and doubling up Smith. This took away the vertical route from OSU and with the wind blowing it added to the problem of trying to go deep. To counter this OSU had to be able to run the ball to force Michigan out of this coverage. Michigan dominated the line of scrimmage and OSU could not establish the run. Bottom line, Michigan's coaches had an excellent game plan and their players executed on the field and OSU did not. Ryan Day knew how to fix the problem, but his players could not get it done. All this with Michigan without a top running back and two All American players. It's quite impressive actually. They gutted out the win.

This isn't rocket science and every commentator is missing it. OSU lost primarily because the field goal kicker missed 2 field goals, the QB threw an awful pass that got intercepted on your own 10 yard line (leading to a UM touchdown) and another interception on the UM 10 yard line (loss of 3, even 7 points). That's a ~20 POINT swing!!! You can have the best coach in the world but if the players don't execute, no coach can save the team.
@maizeman902 күн бұрын
Michigan threw an INT in the endzone. Had a turnover on downs at the 5. 14 points missed right there. OSU also had an uncalled illegal hands to the face on Smith's touchdown catch that should have wiped 7 off the board for OSU. We can do this stuff both ways.
@1TotalJabroni2 күн бұрын
For the last 23 match ups, whoever wins the rushing battle wins this game. Michigan won the rushing battle yet again. Now, if ever there was a year where that streak could and should have ended, it was this year, between Ohio St's o-line injuries and Michigan having two 1st round DT's in the middle of their defense. Michigan had a blueprint to keep this game close and they played it to near-perfection, BUT Ohio State played right into Michigan's hands. That's the wildest part about all of this, Michigan STILL managed to win with the mistakes they also committed. If you look at the stats this was an even game, that should have never been the case, not in a million years. So yeah, please keep Ryan Day! 😂

Woody would start preparing for Michigan after the first game of the season. Ohio State has all the talent this year. Revenge was on the field and they blew it. I heard Ryan throw out a new excuse this year. It was windy. This is why you don't focus on the fancy WRs in the BIG10. Focus on the line of scrimmage and good RBs. This time of year you cannot rely on the passing game up here in the north. Anyway, GO BLUE!!!!

Firing a coach after a National Title win is program suicide. No coach worth a lick will come take the job. Now, I could see Day "retiring" for a year and then taking a job elsewhere 2 seasons from now. Or going to the NFL as an OC.

The best players on the field wore Maze and Blue. Hutchinson and Ojabo in 2021, 2022 the O line, 2023 Will Johnson and JJ McCarthy, Corum etc, and in 2024 Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant. Stop with the talent, only 1 5 star receiver can catch the ball and only 1 5 star QB can throw or RB can run it. The o line and d line has multiple spots and those units favor Michigan for 4yrs now and it will again next year, flat out not a debate.
@Sandbergo73 күн бұрын
The fact that you think it wont be a debate is laughable, you forget the fact that this series has ebbs and flows and the Buckeyes took 8 straight before you took the last 4. Adjustments will be made on both teams and it will be another game, the rivalry is back and still the best in all sports.

26 rushes for 77 yds. They could not run the ball yet kept doing it on almost every first down. All the NIL, one of the greatest transfer hauls ever, all the returning seniors, and great recruiting classes, and this is what you get. Against your bitter rival who is having one of their worst years in a while and you still cannot win. Ryan is scared of UM now. He crawls into a hole and shivers in his boots. He has to go. That’s it. Take Johnson and the strength coach with you.
