Original motor, blew my trans the other day doing burnouts and is in the shop getting a new one installed because apparently lucas stopslip murders transmission cases and valve bodies (also I have a 4v motor I'm building and it wouldve blown stock trans instantly so needed the upgrade anyways, but stock motor will simply be resealed and put in something else, not even fresh rings, still has perfect compression.

Best thing to do: Run what the manufacturer recommends. And if you've got a high mileage vehicle (100k mi or more, or something from the late 90's or older) that's been running conventional, don't switch to synthetic unless you're planning on replacing all your (rubber) gaskets and seals.

Dad has an ecoboost f150 the twin turbo 3.5 v6 and he ran Fords “blend oil” which in testing shows it’s only 20% syn and 80% con, and his engine is made for syn I told him this that he might have issues in the long run and now at 90k miles he’s having timing chain rattle from lack of oil during cold starts and takes longer to start now but my Taurus sho with the same engine smaller turbos I ran 50k in 9 months and changed my fluid every 5-7k with Castro’s edge full syn and I’ve not had a single issue and the timing chain with 70k on it does not rattle a single bit and it starts just like the day when I bought it with 20k on it.

For my evo x, I just use what the manufacturer recommends, Mobil 1 extended performance. Hopefully mobil 1 didn’t just buy being the recommend oil...If I’m doing any track or aggressive driving, then I do royal purple.

My car used to burn and leak oil. So i use 20w50 and a lucas oil stabilizer. Its like gear oil for your engine and boom no leaks, still burns like hell though

1. join your car's FB group 2. use the search bar and enter "engine oil". You'll see many and the preferred based on mileage 3. Warmer enivornment more likely using a 5w40, cooler, then probably a 0w40/5w30.. 4. Or read your manual

I used to run valvoline vr1 race oil in my 03 wrx. Then I sent in a sample to Blackstone labs and found out it was actually hurting the engine. Now I use penzoil platinum euro and it works so much better

@@benjaminwright4007 I wouldn’t use race oil. Race oils have really high detergents and high Zinc numbers that hurts your emissions equipment on your car. Any full synthetic/Dino oil will be better in the long run and it’ll protect your emissions equipment (If you’ve taken all your cats off and etc sure go ahead) but today’s modern passenger car motor oils will do just fine. You can actually find oil comparisons on KZbin and valvoline doesn’t perform well especially for the price. I like superTech from Walmart because it’s cheap but still pretty good.

Just a P.S.A most companies are phasing out conventional oil for a synthetic blend and full synthetic oils. (Only reason I know this is because the company working for told us to not sale anymore conventional oil due it not going to meet API standards. That's what I was told.) @fitmentindustries

How to get good at driving a manual.... get stuck in a traffic jam lol. I literally went from chirping the tires/bucking everywhere to being butter in that 2hrs. Some actual advice When in doubt put it in neutral. I stalled so many times because someone slammed their brakes in front of me and I forgot the clutch. Don't forget to learn how to downshift too. I drove around my neighborhood downshifting up to each stop sign. Yes its cool to be able to rev match but sometimes you will need to get out of the way. You can't do that if your in 5th.

Remember, a shitty synthetic is worse than a good conventional. But if you're running good brands, (such as valvoline, mobil, castrol, amsoil, certain shell oil lines) then synthetics are definitely better. (If you do insist on running conventional I only reccomend valvoline or castrol) I'm personally an amsoil dealer, and you can tell me it's a bad oil when you run another oil for 20k in your motor without it locking up. Also they do make oils specifically for classics, (the z-rod line) which is specifically created so that it is safe in any gasoline powered engine all the way back to 1955, and most engines before that. In fact most engines made past 1990 cannot run it safely in stock form because they make it in such heavy weights (10w-30 and 20w-50)
