I think your cabin is a perfect home for the family. I grew up in a basement of a 150 year old house. A business was upstairs. I LOVE our basement home. I lived there until 15 years old, when we bought our first home which needed completely renovated. It was finished when I moved out of the house and got married. Home is where the family is.

I''m glad you've got youth on your side🤔. Back in the 70's my little family of 4 up and moved to the cold wilderness of Minnesota, where we built a homestead from the ground up. The first couple years were spent in a very small trailer with no electricity or plumbing. Eventually, we built a log home from scratch. We were there for 7 years before returning to civilization. As I look back, I'm amazed at the energy we had to complete our dream. I'm now 75 and am in awe of who we were. So kudos to you for taking this on. Enjoy every moment so you'll have lots of stories and memories to look back on one day. Best wishes to you as you travel to warmer climes for the winter months.

I see great potential in the cabin, how exciting! Being out away from shops and stores sounds wonderful to me! We live in the States in an area that is surrounded by stores and shops and a ton of traffic. When we moved to this area, there were very few shops and no traffic. Im so happy for ya’ll, I think it’s wonderful and will be a fun project!

I loved the tour and hearing all your excitement about the plans you have to make it a wonderful place to return home to. Oozes potential and lots of space for the kids as they grow up. Loved sharing the Santa visit. Nothing like in the US but that is what makes it so wonderful to share in. So glad that you now can get to the warm so that Malin can enjoy some relief. Check with your local council / government because here in Italy for example there is financial help( paid back yearly, over about a 10 year period....but it's a big help!) on things like windows/ solar panels/ boilers etc . Basically anything which involves energy saving/ upgrading. Worth while asking you never know! Cabin is going to be SO lovely ....and the setting and all the outside space...well done! Happy New year and enjoy yourselves in Spain!

My daughter lives in an off grid cabin on 10 acres in Nova Scotia Canada.. it’s taken her some work to get it fixed up but now it’s a cozy comfortable home. I love it there (but not in the winter!!).

Happy New Year 🎉🎉❤❤ Hard to believe it's 2025!! Love the new cabin and all the land. It is a fixer-upper, but I think you have some good plans for renovating the kitchen. My sister and her husband bought an old house that needed a lot of work. What they thought would take 6 months took almost 2 years! They had to get permits for the electrical work, pipes broke, plumbing issues, etc. It took a toll on them, but the end result was good. Best to hire professionals with the work you can't do, like the electrical and plumbing. Have a lot of patience. The end result will be awesome. I think it's good for the kids to have a home base now. The best is yet to be!! ❤❤
