It's a literal miracle that he didn't crumble himself and just accept Salem's beliefs that humanity should be ruled over as if they were gods and abandon the quest that the God of Light gave him. Yet Ozpin still struggles.

Y'know, I don't know who to actually root for in this. Yes, you can blame Oz all you want for his lies...but, can you honestly say they were that bad? Leo betrayed him, who's to say the others won't once they find out whatever he's hiding? Not to say that his methods are working, they clearly aren't. He needs a different approach to the war...but what right does RWBY actually have to know his secrets? He hasn't known them for long, he's only their headmaster and spoke with them on a few occasions. They weren't invited to fight with him, they just sort of came along for the ride. And...they're not huntsmen. No matter how much you'd like to argue, their first years, kids, they're stupid and emotional. Yang has anger and abandonment issues, Blake never listens to authority figures, Ruby is too naïve to understand the desperation of the war itself for underhanded methods, and Weiss is completely loyal to her team what with it being the family she never had and will immediately side with the others. They keep expecting him to immediately trust them, but they haven't earned it. Fighting alongside him doesn't automatically make them worthy of such trust. At all. The only exception for this is Qrow, Qrow has been working with Ozpin for years yet he didn't tell him.

And fact of the matter is that they can leave any time, he's not forcing them or anything. If they don't like how he does things, then just leave. And you can't use the justification of risking their lives, EVERYONE'S life is in danger, all of humanity is at risk from Salem. The Grimm have control over most of the planet and surround humanity from all sides, Salem is winning no matter how you look at it and her agents are everywhere plotting the fall of the kingdoms. Its either do something and possibly survive, or do nothing and die. ...but that being said, I would like some answers. I really want to know what his past is.

One thing I recently noticed... When Oscar first started talking to Ozpin, Ozpin stated that he was also confused about what was going on when it happened to him. So, I don't think the ORIGINAL old man is really in there anymore. Every reincarnation sees the new soul assimilating the old soul, not the other way around. So eventually Oscar will have a lot of Ozpin's memories... but it will be Oscar Pine. So maybe Ozpin isn't lying so much as he is (like everyone else) not fully clued in. He's working with bits and pieces from the guy who came to him, who would have been working with bits and pieces from yet another incarnation. He's still a secretive bastard, that Ozpin... but he may have reason to withhold information he doesn't understand himself. Just a thought. Edit Having watched 6/3 now... She's there to drive a wedge between them and lead Ruby astray. Thats why the scene transitions from her looking at Ruby with Qrow by her side to Qrow being dragged away. Just a theory but its mine.

spoilers for episode 3 Ozpin didn't do anything wrong, in fact he barely had any agency before he left Salem. So why would Oscar react to the memories this way? Unless... Well It's obvious Ozpin is really ashamed of it and holds a lot of guilt for things that're not his fault. So maybe Oscar saw the memories how Oz sees them instead of how they really are?

Everything we've seen in the episode was his own personal life and so much of it was quite truamatic (like being burned alive by your wife after you both accidently killed you kids, wtf crwby) so I don't see how it's vital information. The stuff from the previous episode doesn't count since it has differenr reasons and is a seperate discussion.

And that what it was missing! An inside of characters perspective. That's why I prefer books over film as a story telling medium. It is extremely vivid in Oscar thoughts because we get to see their interaction an inner dialog. It makes me mad that it is just a noncanon video to make audience laugh. Like really we know almost nothing about what characters think! And that is important when the two souls merge together. Sorry I went overboard but I would love to think about your videos as canon, Oscar questions, gets mad, has some kind of emotions towards Ozpin. But on the most part you're doing a grat job at making me laugh.
