Just come to Tallahassee FL, it’s the Wild West, there are easily 100+ food trailers and trucks around town that probably don’t meet half of these requirements 😂

Your videos have covered almost every detail of owning a food business. Could you do one covering health insurance? Most of us have coverage through our employer, what happens when we become self employed?

Do you know if bathrooms/sinks are allowed on a food trailer in. Florida ?
@MarketingFoodOnline
@MarketingFoodOnline 11 ай бұрын
Florida, the requirements for mobile food establishments (including food trailers) are governed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's Division of Hotels and Restaurants. While specific requirements can vary depending on the type and complexity of the food operation, there are general guidelines related to bathrooms/sinks on mobile food units: Handwashing Sinks: Every mobile food dispensing vehicle (MFDV) and hot dog cart that prepares potentially hazardous food or that uses any procedure that could contaminate food or food-contact surfaces must have a handwashing sink. Warewashing Sinks: Mobile food units that engage in food preparation or produce food waste should have warewashing sinks. Restrooms: Mobile food units themselves generally aren't required to provide restrooms. However, when they're set up at a location for operation, there usually need to be accessible restroom facilities with proper handwashing stations for the employees. These restrooms often have to be within a certain distance of the mobile unit, and agreements might need to be in place to allow the food unit workers to access these facilities. Keep in mind that regulations can evolve over time and might differ based on local county or city ordinances. If you're planning to operate a food trailer in Florida, it would be prudent to directly check with the Florida Division of Hotels and Restaurants or the specific county health department where you intend to operate for the most current requirements and regulations.

Starting a food trailer that sells lemonade in Florida requires navigating several regulatory steps to ensure compliance with state and local laws. While specific requirements can vary by county and city, here's a general overview of the licensing and permits you might need to operate your lemonade food trailer in Florida: 1. Business License/Registration Florida Business License: You'll need to register your business with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations. This involves choosing a business structure (e.g., sole proprietorship, LLC) and registering your business name. 2. Mobile Food Vendor License Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR): In Florida, food trucks and trailers are considered Mobile Food Dispensing Vehicles (MFDV) and must be licensed by the DBPR. This involves submitting an application, paying the required fee, and passing an inspection of your food trailer to ensure it meets health and safety standards. 3. Food Safety Certification Food Handler’s Permit: At least one person on your team should have a Food Handler’s Certificate, which proves they understand basic food safety practices. This is often obtained by completing a food safety course approved by the Florida Department of Health. 4. Commissary Letter of Agreement Commissary Agreement: Many counties in Florida require mobile food units to be associated with a licensed commissary kitchen where they perform food prep and store the vehicle when not in use. This agreement must be documented and submitted with your MFDV application. 5. Local Permits and Zoning Approvals County and City Permits: Check with the local city or county where you plan to operate for any additional permits or zoning restrictions. Some areas require additional health permits, vending permits, or special approvals to sell food in certain locations. 6. Sales Tax Permit Florida Department of Revenue: You'll need to register to collect and remit sales tax on the lemonade you sell. This requires obtaining a sales tax permit from the Florida Department of Revenue. 7. Vehicle Registration and Insurance Vehicle Requirements: Ensure your food trailer and any towing vehicle are properly registered, insured, and meet the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regulations in Florida. Steps to Take: Research Local Requirements: Start by contacting your local health department and city/county business licensing offices to get specific information about requirements in your area. Prepare Your Food Trailer: Ensure your trailer meets the state’s health and safety standards, including proper equipment for storing and serving lemonade. Submit Applications: Gather all necessary documentation and submit your applications for the required licenses and permits. Inspections: Be prepared for inspections from the health department and DBPR for your mobile food unit. Compliance: Stay informed about food safety practices and ensure you comply with all operational regulations, including food handling, storage, and cleanliness standards. Getting your lemonade food trailer up and running in Florida involves careful planning and compliance with various regulatory requirements. By taking the time to understand and meet these obligations, you'll be on your way to successfully operating your mobile food business

Starting a food truck is an exciting venture! The type of licenses and permits you'll need can vary based on your location, but I can provide a general overview to give you an idea of what to expect. Always consult with your local municipality and state regulations to ensure you're meeting all legal requirements. Business License: Just like any other business, a food truck requires a business license to operate. This license is typically issued by the city or county where you plan to operate. Mobile Food Facility (MFF) Permit: This permit is specific to mobile food businesses and is typically issued by your local health department. They will inspect your truck to ensure it complies with health and safety regulations. Food Handler's Permit: Depending on your location, anyone who is preparing or serving food might need a Food Handler's Permit. Some places also require a manager or owner to have a more advanced food safety certification. Commissary Letter of Agreement: Many cities require food trucks to be stored and serviced at a commissary, which is a commercial kitchen where you can prepare and store food. This letter is proof that you have access to a commissary and will be using it. Fire Department Inspection: Some cities or counties require a separate inspection by the fire department, especially if you're using open flames or cooking equipment that could be considered a fire hazard. Sales Tax Permit: If your state has a sales tax, you'll likely need this permit to collect tax from customers. Parking/Location Permits: Depending on where you plan to park and sell, you might need additional permits. Some cities have specific zones where food trucks can operate. Special Event Permits: If you plan to operate at fairs, festivals, or other special events, there might be additional permits required. Vehicle License: Your truck will need to be properly registered, insured, and licensed like any other vehicle. Alcohol License: If you plan to serve alcoholic beverages, you will need a separate license for this, and the regulations can be quite strict. Music License: If you play music at your truck, especially copyrighted music, you might need a license from performing rights organizations like BMI, ASCAP, or SESAC.
