I have the Montis and am very impressed. Much improved over my ASICS and Adidas Barricade I wore prior. The comfort, lateral support and style are what I like the most.

Nicely done review. I ordered the Montis and found the regular to be a little narrow so I ordered pair of the wide cut. These are terrific shoes and I couldn't be more pleased. I also noticed the presenter wears Montis in other instructional videos. I'd encourage folks to give them a try. Excellent customer service too.

I wore ASICS Gel 7 for a long time, very comfortable but just wore out too quickly. Now I wear Montis. They are hard to get my foot into, but once they are on they fit like a glove. And the soles last a long time. But I’ve developed heel pain, so not sure if the shoe is bad for this. They do have a pretty good cushion in the heel, so might be I just overdid it. I also have a pair of Fitville which are very comfortable, but just too wide for lateral movement. Feels like my foot sloshes back and forth which is uncomfortable. But they are a very comfortable walking shoe so I use them for that.

Jet Mach 3's with Powerstep insoles are my jam. I tried the Move GameDay Pro insoles but went back to Powerstep. Definitely going to try the Montis, especially for that price point.

Though I love my Babalot Mach 3s (have in the same black/gold colorway cause were on sale for $99 vs. other colors) and it's my primary pickleball shoe... I'm trying to figure out how to stop the toe pain I seem to have after 2+hrs of play. I'm guessing it's the toes sliding as you mentioned so perhaps I need to get a new insole like the powerstep that jason mentions above

Purchased the Montis shoe and absolutley love this shoe. I had the Skecthers prior to these shoes which were decent and tried the Tyrol shoes which were very uncomfortable to me. The Montis is by far the best pickleball shoes I have tried yet.

To keep my court shoes from smelling funky I use the same concoction I used for my hockey bag. I remove the insoles and spray them as well as the inside of the shoe with a mixture of alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, slightly diluted with water. Leave the insoles out and allow all to dry completely before next use..

To help manage athletic shoe odor, I rotate wareing my 7 pairs of shoes. I don't wear the same shoes two days in a row. After activities I remove the insoles and stuff shoe paper or paper towels in the shoes. In addition I wash the insoles after the 2nd or 3rd ware. My shoes last over a year following the above process.

Thanks for this. I have very wide feet (bunions) and have used 1) wide versions of Sketchers (comfy and long lasting sole but uppers didn’t offer much support). 2) NB 996 and 1007 (good width/comfort but too much height above court and movement) and just got the Montis wide version. At first I wasn’t sure it was going to work as it goes on tight but once on it is quite comfortable. The best thing about it is feels too much lighter and has a better connection to the court which makes me feel faster and more stable. Not sure how they will last but so far these are the best shoes I have found for my feet. I also tried the Labs shoes but they didn’t have a 12 wide that I think would have fit better so I returned them.

Love the Skechers until they wear through. Then they hurt! Montis are very comfortable and last longer. Tyrol are king of lasting long but won’t feel too comfortable

I have the Selkirk S1, Babolot jet mach 3, and the montis. Rotate among these 3 shoes Selkirk S1 are my favorites comfort wise (I did add powerstep insoles) and maneuverability. Agreed with durability issues. Babolats are just fine. The montis are my newest shoes. I really like them other than the short tongue. Montis told me the newer production runs will feature a longer tongue. FYI I changed the laces to lace lock type laces for each of these shoes. I didn't pay list price for either the montis (discount code) or Babolot (Amazon). Montis has become my overall most worn of the 3. I plan to purchase an additional pair when the longer tongue is available.

I’m wearing the Skechers Viper Court Pro - Multicolor w/ pink & black. Very good shoe. If you signup as a Skechers member and sign up for text alerts you can get them down to $85.00 or so. Also, the the smell factor - as soon as I’m done w/ my playing session I take out the shoe insert and just lie them out to dry. I’ve had them since April 2023 and rotate them w/ a pair of Diadora’s and have zero odor issues. I do that w/ all my sneakers, you won’t need sneakers balls or anything, the inserts is what absorbs the sweat. Just take them out to air dry.

Cotton blend socks really help prevent foot odor in your shoes. I'm a fan of the Babolat Jet Mach 3. I've never paid full retail for them because you can often find them on sale for between $60 and $85.

I would try a boot warmer for getting your shoes to not stink. I work construction and my boots always stunk. Got a boot warmer and put them on it after work. Smell like new every day. Same for my pickleball shoes.

Good work on the breakdown in each category. One possible stench solution is Baking Soda in the shoes after you play. Sprinkle in a little - not too much or it will feel gritty next time you play. About a teaspoon. It takes away the odour, for a while anyway. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I think PB shoe makers need to look at what they do in running shoes - no stink issues there. The stench from pickleball shoes is unreal 🤢 I don’t have this problem with ANY other footwear… why does this happen? The materials they use?

I'm wearing K-Swiss Express Light. Feel light and have very good maneuverability. Lateral support is good and all mesh upper provided excellent breathability. I'd rate them as follows based on your scale - Comfort: 3, Maneuverability: 4, Breathability: 4, Durability: 3, Style: 4, Price: 4. Overall score: 22. Have really been pretty happy with them but always looking for other options. I'll probably try the Montis based on your review and especially because of the Maneuverability which is a big factor for my play style. I know you can't comment on something you haven't tried but am curious if there is some reason you haven't tried K-Swiss as a brand?

tx! one of the best PB shoe reviews ive seen. i put the odor balls in after play. Viper Court pros are my fav PB shoe ive tried with well balanced build, comfort (great heel cuff) and maneuverability. my wider feet love the 'relaxed fit' which falls between a regular & true wide. The jetmachs overall feel high quality, very stable w/o feeling too much like an overly clunky tennis shoe. they're my go-to for singles. similar 'relaxed fit'. True- the stock insert is a bit weak but not terrible. The stock insert in the SFX3 is much better (SFX is very similar to the jet mach but has an even wider more flexible toe box.) I replaced the jet's insert with the Move game day pros and it definitely improved an already good shoe. Montis seems interesting.

I’ve only used the head revolt pro 4.0. How do they compare to the ones you reviewed? I personally like them. Then come with 6 month tread warranty, good maneuverability.

I have some similar experiences with the Sketchers and Nike and that they are my favorite for comfort and keeping my feet feeling good. My Ascics hold up well for durability and I use as my Dailey grinders and keep my Nike's for tournaments. I do like the Nike's for singles as well, since they offer good lateral stability with their rubber design. My Adidas are good but Don't last very long, so I'm veering away from purchasing more of them in the future! Pink for my Sketchers is Not my favorite color for a shoe but got them cheap but do like the comfort factor for them and think they will hold up for 3-5 months tho!

Personally, I think you can get better "pickleball" shoes (outdoor) that are designed/intended for tennis instead, and table tennis / badminton / squash shoes for indoor play. That's why I have loved my indoor Babs (Shadow Tour) and outdoor Babs (Jet Mach 3 All Courts). 'Nuff said..

The trick for smelly shoes - Always put on fresh socks before you play and if your feet are clean, even better. The fastest way to make shoes smell is to wear your socks around the house and then put on your shoes and get them sweaty (don't do that and you'll have MUCH fresher sneakers). A second tip is to lift up (or pull out) the insoles when you take your sweaty shoes off, so they can vent a bit and dry fully

Shoes are getting so expensive that if you play 3+ times a week and unless you are finding prior year models at 1/2 off I wouldn't buy any shoe without a 6 month outsole guarantee as you are going to burn through the outsole of any shoe in less than 6 months.

Asics Solution Speed FF 2 (hot pink) - excellent lateral movement, good quality, everyone loves the pink glow! 2. Nike React Vapor NXT (white) - awesome everything, really sexy looking! 3.
