Just letting people know the biodudes store is awesome. I drove 5 hours from Louisiana to get there and I was very pleasantly surprised there was great wood selection and cool products. All the enclosures were very clean and very nice looking. I would 100% shop there again

This was a great video, I had been wondering about adding some ferns to my bioactive set ups for my snakes or the day gecko, I really think they would be a great addition to what I have, and here you just answered my questions, thanks!

This was very helpful because I just got a 36x18x36 terrarium and some terra firma from your store for some emerald tree skinks and was wondering the plants I could have

Any chance you could do an updated bio set up for a chameleon? Very interested in your product and would love to use it for my chameleon!
@TheBioDudeJoshHalter2 жыл бұрын
the set up videos would be the same with the same products, you can send an email to the customer care team at customercare@thebiodude.com for a quote on the kit and shipping.

Hey Josh! Been a customer for a long time and love everything about what you do! My question is, it seems like I can’t keep plants alive for more than a few months, and I end up ordering new ones in the spring when the weather warms up for shipping. When I put new ones in, I make sure to plant bare root and deep in the soil (I have a 5 inch soil layer). I was thinking it might be the water I use once a week for the plants? I know your plants are all raised organically with no chemicals so I thought maybe the water I was using (tap) was shocking them and making them die? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

hey there i am sorry to hear the tough time you are having with the plants, it could be the water yes, however it is more often over or under watering or lighting. What lighting are you using, and how are you watering the plants so we can jumpshoot this and get it figured out! :)

@@TheBioDudeJoshHalter I’m using the Grow and Glow LED light, and watering about twice a week! I’m using regular tap water but not sure if I should switch to a purified water or spring water. I also know that some people use a filtered water like with the ZeroWater filters.

How does the cohabitation between the corn snake and White's Tree frog work? I would like to cohab as well but don't want to stress the animals out. The tree frog does seem slightly larger than their ideal prey range but not by much. Is their species toxic or impalatable?
@TheBioDudeJoshHalter2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! The little frog is a green tree frog which, while being native to the united states in the same range the corn snakes are from, at the corn snakes size, and the corn snakes being fed on a regular basis, it is not of interest for being food so it works! We did upgrade and separate the animals to larger enclosures to give both species more room for activities and space to thrive. Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions! Would you recommend the terra firma or Sahara for a western hog nose? I’m guessing Sahara (which I have now) but I’m wondering Firma because hognoses can take a bit more humidity.
@Back_Day_Barbarian2 жыл бұрын
He recommends using a mixture of both but that’s expensive, I’d recommend the firma because it holds burrows better and it’s easier to diy the terra Sahara for the other half
@ojinga2 жыл бұрын
@@Back_Day_Barbarian do you think the difference in the two is significant enough to buy firma? I’ve got Sahara now and I’m redoing her tank. But since I’ve got the Sahara already I’m not sure if it worth the switch

Our Terra Sahara will be perfect for your hognose to dig its burrows in! Here is our care sheet in case you wanted some more information: www.thebiodude.com/blogs/reptile-and-amphibian-caresheets-with-cited-veterinary-and-herpetology-sources/western-hognose-care-sheet-and-maintenance
Interesting when I ordered the terra firma bioactive kit, I wasn't given ONE of these plants. I was shipped other plants, but none of these in the video... :( Edit: I did receive a croton. But yeah, everything else was not a single plant seen in this video.
@TheBioDudeJoshHalter2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, that is because plants can be seasonal or harder to find during certain times of the year, we have it stated that the supplies sent within kits arent the exact items due to item availability. the plants and decor included are still approved for use woth the species :)
