@@66ECHO well I'm not much in a position to do a lot either, I'm a single dad and have to work a lot just tonget by, BUT I do live 10 mins from the Grindstone Fob and have a amateur radio license and equipment so when I heard the call to action that they needed radio guys I had to respond. I'd work all day, get the boy from school, and then head to the fob to help out as much as I could. It wasn't much but any help and work for the Father's Kingdom is valuable. A LOT of people came from all over the country like Cody did, on their own dime, and for no reason other than to answer the command to love their neighbors. I've never seen water lines that high before from ditch lines.. Near Spruce Pine in that area, that small river that runs through that ravine, it's like 40 ft down to that Creek from the road, there was like an 80-foot watermark above the road yo. I'm in Mountain City and it hit us hard and some people lost everything, but down there.. they're still recovering bodies. You need to take a look at the dod directive that just came out on the 27th the same day of the storm, we now have a no-fly zone, and they have authorization to use deadly force as of the 27th, That includes you it covers the whole board so it's your problem also to figure out so you need to look at it

@@PunkN_JTM Unbelievable that a no fly zone is incorporated at this time , when helicopters, personal plane ect are reaching those remote inaccessible areas. May God Bless the volunteers who are unknown, nameless only know by Family and Friends to even be there May God Protect their Families and bestow blessings upon all who gave time, money, time away from Families, sleeplessness, fatigue, muscle pain and many more things, may they be blessed abundantly, May God disperse those with negative intentions away from this devastation, May the Holy Spirit grant the workers intense perception to recognize their enemies, May those who only seek to profit from the land or the spoils be thwarted, May those who intend harm to others be stopped I ask these things in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer and Savior, Amen

Cody, thanks so much for being a human and going and doing this. I've been involved in disaster response for my entire adult life, in multiple facets from federal medical response down to doing what you just got done doing and everything in between. Whether I was deployed with my federal team (the kind that's there as the disaster hits, not FEMA) or there on my own time and dime running a shovel and a broom, what I always saw is that neighbors and communities are always more helpful and successful in their assignments. They have the most immediate and helpful effect for those in need. They are the true heroes of these situations. I've been to so many disasters and the outpouring of support between neighbors and community members is what stays in my heart. The people you helped there on the ground will always remember you, just like you'll always remember them.

We ended up camping out with a local funeral home owner that actually paid us out of his own pocket to stick around to help the community. I took no pay personally just had to pay the the crew. Stayed almost a month before hurricane Rita hit Texas and met a pastor that put us up for almost 3 months.

Planning to get more once I get this batch done. I have loved ones up in that area that are affected and also do community outreach. I work as a firefighter/paramedic in Florida. Trying to get more specifics for personal known needs from my contacts to get items up there and help continue getting items up there as needed. It will definitely be a long, hard process. Areas of Florida have also been devastated, but we are blessed to be better prepared for hurricanes, more resources, and great response. Hello sir, from Ouray, Colorado. Thank you very much to what you and your other teammates did for these people! I am also thankful for your family's support for you to head to this disaster area. I appreciate your heartwarming anecdotes, also, of the other Americans out there that donated their time and resources to make a difference. 2020 was my first presidential election in Ouray. We're a small, mountain resort town in the southwest part of Colorado. There is about 700 or 1000 full time residents; and it swells up a bit in the summer of part time residents, and then a lot with the tourists. Anyways, I was really looking forward to the election season so that we could all share ideas and such. As it played out, it was quite the divided experience. It progressed to the point that if person A saw me talking to person B, they would never talk to me again as they knew person B voted for such and such. The talking point that I try to instill in folks, after that experience, is that if something happens here, the government is not coming to do anything for you. It will be the person (such as your neighbor) on your left and right that will be coming to help. It probably is a good idea to not discount or poo poo everybody. Thank you for the links to the other channels. I hopped on to them and subscribed. QUESTION: Does the Grindstone Ministries regularly participate in disaster relief efforts? I am 57 yrs old. I still work, but am looking to retire in 2 or so years. It would be an honor to head out with an organization such as them to help others.

Mrs. W is definitely a real hero in this effort. By getting you connected with an established organization she was able to help make your efforts productive in a very positive way. It's the behind-the-scenes support people like her that really bring relief to those in need. I saw a video by some guys who came to the same area as you with a load of supplies and equipment but with no plan and no connection to any established group. They drove around for two days trying to find a places to drop off stuff and get to work with very little success. Because they weren't part of a known group many locals mistook them for looters and rejected their efforts. Having the desire to help is a great thing and being willing to work through a recognized organization can really make a difference in putting that desire in action.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story from this deployment. The two stories you chose were touching and continue to reinforce seeing the good of God and of his sons and daughters who help in his name.

Thanks for sharing a few stories with us. I figured you would find yourself coming east to help out anyway you could, that's just the type of man you are. God Bless You!
