A Group of my male friends go into London every year to celebrate St George’s day . These people were in London having a drink and enjoying themselves. It wasn’t a march or a protest so why were the police there. The Irish can celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day without all this fuss !! The English are getting to breaking point , we have men who have served this country sleeping rough yet thousands of undocumented men come here illegally and are put in a hotel. When are we going to put our citizens first??

I was at this gathering for st George's day. Im a retired NHS nurse who gave 42 years of service and retired burnt out. I have NEVER marched about anything. I was walking down the Road after meeting at trafalgar Square. the police then blocked the road with officers dressed in riot gear leaving no where to go i turned round to go back coming face to face with a police horse charging into our group walking to whitehall. i lost sight of my husband it was so scary. We have worked our whole life to become second class citizens in our own capital city a complete disgrace. My heart breaks for our once pleasant land.

Oh, come on. They were ordered to do it! Even in Nazi Germany there were lifetime policemen who would refuse to do wrong to the honest citizen. There is no excuse beyond ignorance, stupidity, blind obedience, and bad faith, for police who act as they did on St. George's Day. They are supposed to serve the interests of honest citizens, not those of dangerous minorities, of the political class, or of the BBC. During WWII British soldiers refused illegal orders, such as firing on Japanese soldiers among crowds of civilians. The officers who gave such orders were recalled in disgrace. The same has to begin to take place in Britain today.

@@Black.Sabbath I dont disagree. But then why do we use neutral words like "immigration" all the time? People dont even use the word "foreigner" anymore. If they control the words you use they can control the limits of your thought. I think a leftist would argue that it is not "settler colonialism" because a country has not conquered us and directly settled its people here. But places like Turkey & India definately see their diaspora as a power play. Erdogan talks about the importance of German Turks having lots of kids etc. The Muslims have a notion of the Umma and its political expansion across national boundaries which they dont really recognise. And foreigners tend to send remitances back home and influence our governments to give them and their home countries favourable deals. So though it is not as simple as other cases of "colonialism" I would still call it neo-colonialism or somesuch

The solution for patriots on marches is to adopt the civil rights tactics. Nonviolence, even in the face of aggro. Eventually, the message will get through, as to who has the moral high ground. Also, Harrison's point about the middle-class conservatives' view of working class patriots is spot on. They often allow class snobbery to overshadow, what should be common interests.

I have attended two Tommy demonstrations, one in Manchester shortly after the bombing there, one in Whitehall while he was in prison. On both occassions I saw first hand how Police managed the events to deliberately cause trouble. The first, in Manchester, the Police withdrew from an area seperating us from the communist antis. There was a clash for literally a minute or so then the Police re engaged and pushed the two groups apart. Just long enough for the press to get their photos of "Violent Far Right Thugs". The second passed off peacefully until the very end. When the crowd came to disburse, Police in riot gear appeared from nowhere and tried to kettle us.They picked the wrong day and were fought back all the way from Downing Street to Trafalgar Square where thousands occupied the Square for several hours. It wasn't nice. I would much rather it hadn't happened but I am glad I wasn't kettled for hours for no reason. I knew then which side I was on. I had know for years but it was brought into sharp focus. I am on the side of my working class sisters and brothers and our interests are opposed by the state which does not represent us, which hates us and which will use its agents to harm us. Remember Hillsborough? Police stupidity caused the death 97 working class people. For another twenty years and more, the state and its agents told the world that it was the fault of working class people, that working class people robbed and pissed on the dead and dying and attacked those giving first aid. The state hates us and we know it.

Thank you for taking your time to speak about what we have been upset ,please let me just tell you the reasons behind why we were all coming to the cenotaph , the day before I can't tell you what media company it was ,but in the background you can see a very old ww2 vetran, and he had his bag with his packed lunch and thermos with hot drinks and he had a garden chair with him ,wrapped up in alot of layers, they didn't even notice him sat as close as possible, and then the news presenter asked the guy to go and speak with him....when they were filming ,they said why was he there so early.....what what he said brought a few few of us to tears ,and that he'd seen the Muslim extremists getting up and spraying really horrible saying on it and he saw them standing all over it while they were actually burning our flags and the British police were just watching and doing nothing about it..but but he was not going to allow them to be doing anything or damage it when we will be having our soldiers families coming past tomorrow and they had lost their loved ones that is the only thing that they have left ,and that he had not going to allow them to stop the true duty and the people in the country need to start showing the respect s tha the blood and the lies and the young men who fought for the freedom's they are abusing and he and his own brothers ,his friends ...that to allow them to be doing anything they need to remember that's they are only in this country and behaving like a thugs....because of the boys and men who like it says they gave thier all so that we don't have to..and it was shared with us all ,and we decided that we would not let him do it alone ,so whoever lives locally would just quietly go to the cenotaph and then we who are living alit further away we do the logistics so food ,sleeping bags chairs etc and then drive down to London. .....so I can totally understand what you're being said, and they will not be showing the full details and the optics is bad..Thanks you take care , Anne-Marie H 🎉❤

Don't forget that you've also been subjected to wealth redistribution for decades, with the middle income class (who are more likely to be white) generating the lions share of tax revenue which is then used to subsidize the living expenses of the lower income class (who are more likely to be non-white). It's like robin hood, but instead it's designed to inflict difficult living conditions for you (to prevent procreation) whilst creating easy living conditions for the new brits (to promote procreation). Quite literally, but indirectly, but fundamentally paying for your own replacement and so to the death of country, culture and identity.

I do understand what he’s trying to say. I said before the St George’s Day celebration that the people on the March need to have their eyes on swivel because the police would do something that would lead to a two second clip going viral. And of course I was proved right even on GB News, which is supposed to be on the right of the mainstream media they called this little snippet a riot and the people thugs and far right. So I do understand when he says don’t give them what they want. But then I also understand that is giving them what they want, by bending over and not doing anything. Because if nobody does anything then they will just continue to walk all over you, the police will continue with their two tiered policing. It’s a difficult situation, but we really do have to fight back against this nonsense. Take the cenotaph. For weeks the disgust was about the pro plasticine marches happening on armistice day. But after Tommy was arrested for eating breakfast and then pepper sprayed (since been absolved) all the media became about that. After the blm riots, the veterans came out to guard the cenotaph. I’ll never forgive what the police did that day. Riot shields, batons raised. Just for standing round the memorial. What was the headlines? Bloke had a pee near to Keith Blakelocks plaque. Don’t help ourselves sometimes

2:19 Very confused here. She's thinking about the National Front (who marched with ranks of Union Jacks, not English flags). The EDL weren't formed until 2009, and were never associated with racism - unless you believe the media of course. The BNP were a legitimate political party which had electoral success. Did they ever carry flags at all?

With regards to the Cenotaph, Tommy hadn't even arrived there when the police, once again, tried to block the route, after previously sending people in that direction. Again, as on 23rd April, a bit of pushing and shouting, and the police removed the barrier. There will always be people who will be there to cause trouble, but it's not Tommy Robinson supporters. Look at every one he has held in Telford over the last couple of years.

i was in waterloo on the day of this march. In the shop area of waterloo. About 10 or 15 individuals were being noisy and obnoxious draped in either the union jack or the English flag. There were also a large number of suited and booted police A troop of i guess 15 ran of these ran through the area. This would have been about 11 or 12 o'clock. And yes I would describe thes drunks as being a few football hooligans. I am pleased these did not see this group in the area the speeches were made. And yes the police described the march as a race group. Both in Waterloo and Whitehall. Personally if the police prevented these drunks from joining the main march. The main group was a very small band.

Somewhat late so I doubt anyone will read this but Tommy is caught between a rock and a hard place. He knows he cannot go too far but at the same time he needs to appeal to his followers. You as “acceptable” talking heads do a great job but you also benefit from Tommy and his followers taking the flack. The best thing you can do is make a point of talking about Tommy and his followers in a positive manner. These people have been more affected by what’s going on than any of you can claim to be. They are at the coal face and while their language might be crude and their emotions may well run high sometimes, their hearts are strong and in the right place. Why not give Tommy his due and interview him? Maybe break the content into three topics so that he doesn’t feel that he must get everything out in 50 minutes. Give him time to prepare and I’m sure he’ll surprise you. Just don’t kill his passion. At the end of the day, he was almost killed in prison for his beliefs. How many of you would put yourselves in that position? You speak of his courage so why not show some yourselves. What was it that Churchill said about sleeping safely in bed because rough men were there? Well, speak with the leader of these rough men!

Yes, good, the question of "iterability" see Wikipedia "Citationality" on Derrida and his "Signature event context" Criticism of J.L. Austin idea of a non serious performance as parasitic on a real performance. and how Butler took this up. My example of the xmas Joe 90 episode from 1968 is better than any of their examples. In terms of "immediacy" of belonging verses mediation of inclusion see "BBC Radio 2: "In Our Time" on "Hegel's Philosophy of History". There they discuss the indexical "I" that as a use in self reference is not being use to pick myself out of crowd. I don't need such mediation, i don't need a regulative semantics that places "I" along side and in the same category as "them" or "they" or "you". Thus i might say i never sue the phrase "I am British" or wave the "flag" except when I'm in a foreign country or perhaps in London among a grope of people from different countries. I wouldn't use it to set up an opposition to Israel or Palestine or even to try and claim the authority to assert Solidarity with either of them. I just don't have the right or authority to do such a performance. The British thing for me is bound up with my teenage years and the Punk Critique of the flag back in the 1970's. That is a very British thing to Critique the flag and Britishness reflectively imminently and within belonging. that though a slightly ironic use but is entirely different from such mimicking Critique by people from other countries or from radical anti British ideologies. There is a certain parasitic use by "others to Britain" that trades on the internal freedom and right of Critique and consent, and uses this externally as not regulative and reflective but with aim to destroy it. The later use would seem to be a performative contradiction of drawing on an internal Right, even obligation to Critique, but with the aim of destroying the source of or condition of possibility of that very Right "see Arendt") What allows or affords the apparent total external Critique from opponents, without obvious self contradiction in immediacy, is they claim an international and external Right in International laws. This speculative external use of Right is seen as sue generic or independent of its meaning as locked into the internal Critique of Britain, even as priori to and higher right to imminent reflective rights of Critique. So is international Right parasitic on State Right or is it the other way around. It felt very different when i moaned about my mum to someone compared to a feminist activist criticising her from ideology when they were round for dinner. But i guess they have the right to do that. This was way back in the mid 1980's long before their march. Might also be worth looking at the "In Our Time" on "panpsychism" and disenchantment, but I haven't listened to it yet. The above for Emma Webb too perhaps following her talk at your recent conference.

So from 21:00 mins take say a slogan "No Anti White Racism Here". This on the one hand is mimicking a slogan like "No to Racism Here" but with a structural substitution or specification norm change. But these are not just free floating statements, the later is historically and institutionally prior to the former. i mean the Pro Palestine and anti racist marches have a long history going back to 1968 and before then even. There is a massive 50+ years edifice of academic and institutional work and entry and laws behind "No to racism". Legally of course it would seem any one can do the substitution its even constitutive of the rule of law at least formally. The structural approach would also seem to necessitate the "inclusion" if not "belonging" of white man into the structure of oppression. Helping this sort of project might involve such quick setting cement as White men are victims too of oppressive aggregated minorities plus women. There both numbers and instituional capacity and capability would seem to support this move. But remember what really supports the Social Justice project is not quick setting cement, but 50 years of concrete laying over concrete with institutional reinforcement. This sedimented concrete is not first here or specific in the UK but first laid internationally and the UK is a part of this whole. There is something very odd about a White guy in Britain Critiquing Britain for too much social justice while drawing on primarily internal rights, because the anti-racist critique is aimed at the State institutions and people for racism, but does so from a point out side by just data and wealth destructions. From this point of view there is no belonging only set inclusion and membership. "No to Anti white racism then" would only seeks to level that playing field at State level via international right. You know there's a big difference in terms of understanding history, an event, between between reading the event in a book or books with a narrative and actually seeing it live even on TV. that is because of all the context of the vent no longer available to experience from any number of books. This original context immediacy can not be reconstructed even though multiple narratives. Everyone knows this who was their at some real event even if on Tv that is completely lost on other people not there in time and place. The left have history and even the present over interpreted to subsume a event into a story for some purpose. the left talk much about history of their own movement and and Critique traditional histories and attempt to do dress up identity performances. Its odd to see white people do this in i guess opposition to opposition, negation of negation. This is not a double reflection or Critique of a critique it does not take you back to belonging or even inclusion or membership in belonging. That's an oxymoron. If it is tradition you are after, drawing on individual international rights will not work because there is no obligation or responsibility attached to it. You know a white business man might want to do this for access to funding say, but it is only mechanical in that if business is the reason then he will leave the country when elsewhere is more useful to himself. Also then someone claiming this via Social justice's own terms of structure and equality will have that right but will be conceptually drawn into obligations such as be pro BLM too. I think I'm after something other than mimicking the left more because of asymmetry of obligations and responsibilities, to an extent absent from the left's structure for Social justice membership. The left are multiple and legion but at the moment are not conscripts of international human rights and international justice. I guess that will come along later.

One way to pursue the "love of Country" other than as a kind of false inflation of human love to the absolute or as just a top down Gods real meaning as opposed to mans multiple finite even nominal or fabricated meanings might be to look at St Thomas Aquinas on analogy in the broad topic of the distinctions between God understanding and mans understanding. This leads into the Social Contract structure and cosmologies, which i guess is the context I am trying for in my above comments.

The second half draws in discussions of character. Now that is really the character and rules and relations verses institutional laws and rights projects. This can not be a simple dichotomy or a one or the other. One example might be that character friendships sharing meals and so on is not first mediated by laws and threat of punishment, its a different set of relations from being brought into a culture with rituals and habits. Here there is much immediacy and tradition and agency and responsibility. For the left this is viewed as a kind of legal system without the structure. they interpret norms we are within with intentions as if we are following formal rules of an institution but kind of informally with informal punishments and personal rewards. Its as if they view Ethical Life as a informal chaotically applied legal system, and asymmetric applications of the laws. This is to see ethical life a not legal morality or being imperfect legality. It suits the left as it gives them an "in" a friction upon which to talk of social and psychological change as mere legal improvements in efficiency outcomes. They see the ethical life as a deficiency of fully just laws from outside. it allows the description of norms to appear as if legal created rules, with intentions, and so then talk of legal and regulatory revision. It also explains why the left cannot understand the difference between a contextual habit of use and someone else doing the same or similar as a deliberate act. Habitual or implicit racism is an odd term as this implies jsut the racist intent without the intent. This then might say a deliberate racism back towards them is symmetrical and jsut, but of course this is a conflation by abstracting out intention and putting in institutionality where there are non. Indeed the entry of the left into institutions is more like the rise of theire ethical life into the structure rather than the claim to have removed their subjective attachments eg representatives of particular groups and activism for particular groups. The real difference is in institutional no one is responsible for anything. But this is a class distinction not identity difference. Class is more tied to the structure of the syllogism and top down punishment though laws. There is no real vertical return only the attempted bottom up use of rights and laws as critique but these rights are not ethical they are legal and owned by the very class the lower class would want to use. Imagine then creating a aesthetic ethical Critique of the middle class after the middleclass aesthetic ethical and moral critique of the lower classes. If you understand me at all you will realise that going around the offices of Whitehall you wont find people steeling cars or carrying knives, or sitting in an ally way drinking cheap cider in a public place. Do you get my wider point?
