As much as he has scared a lot of people, I feel it’s really important for everyone to realize that he is just as human as everyone else. While some people have bad days, others are lucky to have good ones. Mental health often plays a role in decisions that negatively impact other people, and while some have bad intentions, others mean well and don’t even realize that they’re hurting someone. We as a community need to practice compassion and empathy as much as we can, because we truly never know how much our actions impact others. Especially when it’s a sea of negativity, and that is oftentimes a result of a rumor or exaggeration of reality. Drama is the result of people being too dramatic with their responses. Don’t drag people down for such a selfish or self serving reason *period*. Animal Jam is a community of young children, teens, adults, and individuals with mental illnesses or disabilities. We need to build each other up to keep our community strong. We shouldn’t turn our backs on someone who makes a mistake and truly regrets it. We have all made mistakes as people, who are we to judge so harshly towards others? I’m very sad to hear of this person’s passing. I truly hope the people close to him can find healing.

@@heartsandtarts Eh, not sure if I agree with some of these points. Yes, mental health can affect poor choices, but ultimately it’s up to the person themselves to reflect on that. You can only give someone a slap on the wrist for the bad behavior because of mental health issues until eventually they just start using it as an excuse to be a horrible person. You can only give someone so many second chances until eventually they start dragging you down under with them. I think one of the main problems is that you never really know if someone is truly sorry for what they have done, or if they’re just sorry because they got caught and/or called out. Empathy and compassion are definitely important, but you also need to know when to draw the line. For the sake of yourself and others who will also get hurt trying to help someone who won’t help themselves.
@heartsandtartsАй бұрын
@ that’s certainly true. That’s just weaponizing one’s mental illness to justify bad decisions. It’s important to understand the difference
