Into my sixth month of sobriety, thank you for all the help. My depression and anxiety are now manageable without the prescription meds I took in the past. I am able to work more mindfully on my relationships with myself and my husband. Not feeling guilty in the morning about having "done it again" is great.

Another great video Amber, ❤ 17 days sober after 35 plus years of binge drinking, recreational drugs , weekends, holidays , vacations, xmas etc, had time off before here and there, dry jan etc etc but this time im sticking to it, 52 now, somethings changed every day i feel better, hittimg gym harder and gonna focus on doing a PT course etc keeping busy..

6 months sober. I think most of the positive aspects of quitting drinking have been a little to a lot exaggerated. Yes, I sleep better and don't wake up hungover. My relationship with my wife is none the better. My anxiety is higher because it is more focused and never ceases through the day. My mood isn't any better and certainly hasn't improved. And physically I really don't see any change. At the end of the month there are a few more bucks in my pocket and not having to go to the liquior store is nice but that's mostly because I live in Utah.

I disagree, I feel there should be a more accurate description of what to expect when a person quits alcohol. Making it as grandiose as described sets one up for failure, be truthful.@@angeliquec1928

I have a few bad teeth and no dental insurance. The alcohol helps with the physical pain in general but also doubles to keep them from getting infected. If I go a week without a drinking, one or both of those teeth will get infected which drains into my ear and those earaches are the most painful thing I've experienced in my life (and I've been hit by a bus on my bicycle, lol) Until I can land a job with decent insurance options, the drinks aren't going anywhere. Those earaches are painful enough to make me sui cidal and to end it all just to stop the pain.

@@andrewcrandall2419maybe for just infections but aside from getting infected these are also damaged teeth so there's just the general pain prior to infection as well, which listerine really doesn't help in any way. So the same teeth on the right side of my mouth were removed years ago, i can't chew on that side of my mouth anything harder than jello it stabs my gums and hurts, then the decayed teeth hurt to chew on sober so unless i want to eat like a rat with my 2 front teeth, shit is just bad all around. Yay for living in America lol anywhere else i could have resolved this for cheap/free years ago
