The air does come through the side fender. Mostly from the hood scoop. Shine a light from the outside of the fender vent into the engine bay and look. You will see the fender is functional

Exactly! But i think the reason to why people find it ugly is because the exterior styling seems too much, eg: huge wing, vortex generator, 3 outlet exhausts, fake vents.. but once you know that it actually serve a purpose, it’s not that bad after all 👍🏻

Hood scoop is an aero component to add some downforce that flows to the fender exits, honda actually have an animation of how the aerodynamics of the FK8 works on youtube, but honestly though.. i get hate from the FL5 Fanboys and honda "purists" but the FK8 along with the DC2 are the two most iconic Type Rs made to date and will continue to be in the future have had my FK8 since early 2020 and still love it to this day

Well because the FK8 is based on the ordinary Honda Civic FC which I spend a lot of time at the back, it’s actually quite comfortable to fit 3 people behind 👍🏻

@WhenHannMeetsCars I have an FK8 Type R (same colour as the one in this video - Championship White), and I can confirm Honda changed the rear seat on the Type R to 2 passengers only. There are some YT videos showing how to swap in a 'normal' Civic FK8 rear seat (and seat belt) to take it back to 3 rear passengers. Enjoyed your review Hann, you nailed a lot of the positives, and the reasons why I bought mine. The main thing I would change is the wheels, the 20" low profiles aren't ideal for daily driving (although the comfort is actually way better than you'd expect from 20's), I think 19's with higher profile tyres would ride a lot better (but wouldn't look as 'cool' lol). I'm wondering if the previous model Type R is still your dream car, or have you now joined us in the FK8 camp? Keep up the great work 🙂.
