Happy New Year Wendy and to everyone! What's going on? I am 51 with a 12 year old son and we left Canada 7 years ago because I was so sick of what was going on then too. Even having a decent job I was struggling just to eat! I was an accountant with heaps of education. But I was single and trying to juggle motherhood, a house that needed constant fixing and a job that betrated me when i asked to leave early because my child was hurt at daycare. I am glad I left. I return to Canada for visits but each time I go I start feeling depressed.

Happy New Year Evelyn! That must have been difficult, like here in the states when I talk to single moms or even families with children, they are struggling. I do hope where you are now is a better? I wish you the very best and hugs!

It was crazy here in Colorado, but I can't imagine Canada...good for you!

@halstonandharleys I was luckier because I was an older mom. Had my son at 39 so I was more established and knew how to handle money. We ended up in Egypt. There are a lot of people that just end up staying here and not returning to their country because of all the craziness going on in Europe and north America. But leaving your country is not for everyone, I understand that. If I didn't have my son and didn't feel like I was fighting an uphill battle probably I would have stayed in Canada. But was the heck is going on in our countries? I feel the west has lost the plot and there is no American dream anymore, a lot of restrictions and too many people working just to survive. Maybe it's just my imagination

Being that it's winter and cold it allows more time to listen to music it seems. I watched KZbin videos of Anthony Oliver singing "I Wanna Go Home" and "Country Roads". He's playing a Getsch guitar singing solo in the woods. The music felt like a warm hug in a sense!

Happy New Year! 🎉 I feel the same way on the overreaching going on…… Also, I never get the newest released phone, I always get the couple of generations back phone, still brand new but much cheaper and keep them for quite a long time, same as I do for my cars because I want to get my monies worth 😂
@halstonandharleys19 күн бұрын
Happy New Year! And that is fantastic! I don't do i-phones, just android and try to go as cheap as possible. Have had my car for almost 6 years now, paid off over 4 years ago.

I'm a bit older than you Wendy,. I'm feeling optimistic this year I've reached state retirement age 66. This year I'm concentrating on me. You have a great energy, I agree with all you say.

What's going on? Staying centered, staying in my bubble, SHUT OUT THE NOISE, go snowboarding in the greatest snow on earth, plan for windsurfing Columbia in July. Life is short, seize it. Peace, Wendy.🙏

You can get refurbished IPhones for $150 or so. Been doing this for a while and the older models work just as good as the newer ones...

Still here still livin'! Speaking of new music for this year....I got a suggestion to listen to a song by an artist (who isn't signed with a record label) named Oliver Anthony. Well his style is folk I guess and he's written/performed a song "Rich Men from Richmon" and I just now watched it! Can describe it a social commentary on the dirge of the American dream, a heartfelt tune.

Awesome girl! Isn't that song great- I first heard it last year, Oliver is so very talented and sings from the heart. Hugs!!!

Yes ma'am! You know what I'm gonna unload?? I am 47 and having to start over with a career. If you want ANY kind of good, high-paying job, you are basically forced to "network" and build a fake-ass persona on LinkedIn. I signed up for a trial of Premium on LinkedIn, so I could message my old supervisor and then they locked me out of my account (AFTER I had submitted my bank card, mind you....), forcing me to submit a government-issued ID and do one of those AI face tracker recordings to get back into my account! I only did it bc I needed to get back in to cancel that Premium subscription. So basically, we are being to forced to comply with government surveillance!! At this point, I might just choose being poor......🙄🙄

What? That is insane and complete bullshit!! I am sorry that you had to go through that, unbelievable! I do hope that you find what you are looking for, hugs dear lady!
@kelleytatman69776 күн бұрын
Hello....I'm familiar with LinkedIn though I rarely use it myself; but know of colleagues who have over the years due to its popularity and they think that it makes for an efficient way to network for work. What an interesting story you tell of what happened with your account!! Downright scary to think they go to those lengths to get people to comply with surveillance. Thanks to what you have to share about it I'll stay away from it.😶🌫😮

Or not to do, goes both ways. Get the jab, get another one, wear a mask, don't travel here, etc. Not saying you have to listen or not, just my view.
