Days with my stepsister is actualy fire though, its mellow and contemplative, and basically subverts every anime trope there is, except them slowly falling in love that is. Even then, it's actually kind of realistic, the main character even acknowledge 'ok what we're doing is kind of fucked up, I'm so scared to dissapoint our parents' and they keep it a secret. It also deals with both of their emotional baggage and psychological scars.

Who says that russian is good in Alya is liar or not russian. Its just not as terrible as usually, but nothing more. Some words even sounds correct (rare), so we still got ear raping and then sometimes music for my russian ears. Im 29 years already russian and sometimes its really painful listen to this VA, but she trying at least. In all anime ive seen only once good russian. Akiba maid war anime has maid called Zoya thats goof fluent russian i can be proud of. Alya not even close to sound like this.

A show can have a silly premise and be quality. I feel every new romance has to have a hook to draw people in, but eventually the good writing wins out. Like nagatoro and dangers in my heart had hooks to draw people in but then just became good romcoms . Alya sometimes hides her feelings and 2.5 dimensional seduction are both silly but do have heart and I enjoy them for what they are. The sister in the alya series is just joking because in a way she's trying to reconnect with him and she only has a few people she can... Get away from being prim and proper. She's just a weeb being cringe for fun, but I get why people take it serious. I do wish people would give weird names series a chance. There's one this fall that's going to be super divisive despite being an award winning series because of people making assumptions on the title.

6:38 yes, russian language is not great in the show for sure. But voice actress of main heroine is a pretty big fan of russian culture and she actually knows language, just is not great at speaking. Funny enough, English and German dubs have really good Russian
