Agree with Lakmali’s explanation that CEB Chairman appointment is in line with NPP appointing the most suitably competent people to head critical government institutions. Those heads are expected to carry out NPP policy, with KPIs, deliver or ship out. CEB appointment is one of the best IMO, Honesty, integrity, expertise, knowledge of the industry all combined in a single person.

A professional forms policies not based on political grounds as opposed to politicians. His stance, I believe, was based on various factors, climate change, economy social factors etc. Rather than AKD's popular policies to attract votes his stance I see is totally professional

The short term requirements from CEB for the country are to ensure there is adequate generation capacity and bring down price to a reasonable level. The Adani project has to be seen in this light too. I think the new government should review the project considering Gen capacity and price ,all the available facts (which they did not have before elections), court decisions, relationship with India and open tender principles. Najim’s system change argument is laughable, this is about running the business properly.
