@@dingus6317 I will give you a serious answer to your serious question. 1) Government finances and personal finances have almost nothing in common. 2) What is a lot of money in simple terms depends on your income, true? - A $1 million house is a lot of money if your income is $90,000 per annum but if it’s $900,000 it is certainly not a lot. - So just stating $1.2 trillion is a lot of money is ignorant without reference to income. Even if you’re talking personal not government finance. 3) With governments you must also take into account: - GDP per annum. - Does that country have a sovereign currency. 4) Actual economists really want to know the GDP to debt ratio. - I’ll give you a clue. We are by far not the largest ratio yet we have the largest and most diverse economy on earth. That’s a quick and dirty answer. I could go deeper but that is comprehensive and honest enough.
