Welcome back to the road! Today we are making a stop to see what's in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This small city has seen better times, but has a surprising amount to offer. On this stop we will be visiting downtown, Ross Pendergraft Park, Fort Smith, the William Clayton Home, Fort Smith National Cemetery, Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, Fort Chaffee, and the Riverfront Park. Come join us on the road.

As a lifelong resident of Fort Smith, I enjoyed this video. Our National Cemetery has many interesting people buried there. William O’Darby of Darby’s Rangers is buried here, there is a good movie about his story. Yes, we do have many homeless, but we also have a wonderful homeless shelter(Hope Campus). The homeless that you see on the streets or the park choose to not live there. I’m proud of our city and appreciate you sharing its history. Thank you.

Thanks for your work in putting this video together. Very well done! We don't have a lot of the amenities of larger cities, but we also do not have a lot of the problems either, or at dramatically reduced levels. For people like me, it is just the right size.

I visited downtown while in the area for business. The downtown is pretty nice and you can see the city has put a lot of effort into rehabbing it. The trolley museum is nice. So are the fort and the national cemetery.

I have noticed that Americans seem to love small towns. It's very much the opposite where I am from. Every place wants to be bigger than it is, and everyone wants to be in a place bigger and more important than where they are now lol.

Nice, so what’s your favourite type of art? Wife got me into Impressionism like Monet or Chagall’s works in Chicago. We’d both like to see his works in France one day.

I believe the quote at the beginning was not properly understood by the content creator. I found the article it came from and it doesn't apply in this context. I'm from Arkansas and am in Fort Smith as I type this.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I have become familiar with the phrase, "it's a free country". I think I know what is meant by it, but in this case I think Arkansas has something more to offer than what its reputation suggests.

The present tense is correct. It’s hard to believe that Fort Smith was the first city in Arkansas to get a lot of things, like elevators. Big entertainers used to stop here. After people like Tillis died the city the leadership just wanted to keep Fort Smith small and here we are decades later with crumbling infrastructure, empty storefronts, factories leaving… you name it.

@justcody85 the narrator of the video struggled with English. If you want to make a video about a town...get someone who lives in that town to voice it...not a voice from the other side of the world.

While I don't think I struggle with the language necessarily, there is a bit of an accent, just the nature of being from somewhere else. I'm sure Fort Smith has their own promotional videos with professional voice talent out there somewhere.
