Nice kit. Issue with waterproof shoes is they don’t dry as fast. In the Sierra you will swamp them and they won’t dry. The non-waterproof shoes/boots will dry. You might consider a big hat and/or sun hoody as there are miles and miles of exposed trail, especially in the California desert.
