Wow, awesome vid. When I first saw the tile i said "Crap no on ice training clips today." but I really got some good tips. Cutting the bottom flap on the chesty is a great idea. I don't tuck mine in either and it that flap was sticking out of my goalie jersey. I ended up customizing and putting two goalie shirts together to accommodate, so I wouldn't have that beer belly look. I think I will keep the customize goalie shirts, I find the in-between the body and inner arm shots have been less of an issue. Thanks again for the tips.

I started playing hockey when brown leather pads were the norm. They were heavy. How much do your pads weigh? It looks like you could hold one aloft with your finger. Just another example of how the position has evolved. Watching vintage games from the 80's is an interesting experience. 9-8 games were the norm and pads probably weighed a hundred pounds by the time the 3rd period came around. Also, I'm curious to know about medical costs. Does your (wink-wink) "pro" team provide insurance, or are you responsible for the cost?

@@trav4oilers Thanks, bruh. You know, the more I think about it, I'm having a hard time thinking of a position in pro sports that has evolved as much as NHL goalies. Seriously, a penalty shot in the 70's 80's basically meant an automatic goal. Everyone got out of their seats on the rare occasion a goalie managed to stop one. It was that rare. Then you had guys like Guy Lafleur flying down the right wing and launching a slap shot that would leave the goalie flopping around like a fish out of water. Those were the days when stand-up goal-tending was still taught in order to minimize the risk of having your face smashed in by the puck. Remember Gerry Cheevers' mask painted with stitches depicting every spot on his face that he's been hit by a puck? Stand-up goal-tending combined with heavy equipment at times made it look like the net was empty.
