Thank you for another excellent review, Nathan. You've got some cool gear and I appreciate your positive attitude so much. That seems to be a hard thing to keep up nowadays and I found this sling bag vid uplifting in a way. I know that sounds a bit odd but it had that impact on me so thank you!
@PackHacker4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nathan! It doesn't sound odd at all, I know exactly what you're talking about. I had a ton of fun putting this video together and I'm actually really happy with my sling loadout overall, it'll be interesting to see how it progresses over time too. Glad you enjoyed the video, all the best and hope you're keeping well, Nathan.

I have a larger hard glasses case, and my sunglasses are thin so I can fit both my regular glasses and my sunglesses in one thing. Great for travel when i don’t have a safe place to put them at night

Hmm, I am actually looking for a sling/fanny pack right now, need something for when I walk my dog that can carry water for him, poopy bags and treats and my camera. I have the same black case for my AirPods Pro but stopped using it, I like the look and sleek feel of them without the silicone case.

You should include a microfiber cloth in your sunglasses case, which can be used to clean your glasses and phone screen.

……also gives you a sweaty bag. Haven’t found one yet that doesn’t. I use the Tom Bihn Co-pilot and keep coming back to it. I use a small padded case for my compact camera and I know where everything is as there is so much storage pockets. Get the Tom Bihn advanced strap and it does carry everything comfortably.

Lens cleaning wipes of some kind. Whether throw away or reusable tuck away for the glasses to the phone those come in handy as your hands touch it and it gets dusty and I always find dust, dirt, grime, and my kids fingerprints on everything with whatever snack they just had.

Great video Nathan. I've got that sling as well. I used it basically inside my backpack for a trip and then stowed my pack and had that with me under my seat for the flights. It worked really well, however I'm not sure how much I'll use it anymore since I much prefer over-the-ear headphones on flights. I'm gonna try out a TB medium cafe bag instead. Also, I really love a bunch of HumanGear products, not only for travel but also for backpacking. I use the small GoTubbs for Advil liquigel minis (sore back, haha), the GoToob for Dr Bronners soap (don't forget to clean it out periodically, it hardens up), and then the GoBites are amazing for a spork that packs small and gets large.

The Timbuk2 Classic Messenger in XS is small enough to fit in with some of your larger sling recommendations. However I prefer a sling, worn as hip pack, for boarding a flight (I can't convert a messenger into a hip pack, but I _can_ convert a hip pack to a sling). A hip pack isn't counted against my bag count when boarding.

Going to pick up that QuikStand off your affiliate link. I've used phone mounts in the past on airplanes, but this is even more low profile than that. Thankful for your content even in this COVID-19 period we're going through.

Does your tile work well? I got them years ago but they didn't work well. I could be standing right over the tile to test it and it wouldn't ping. When I lost things, the tile didn't help at all. But that was years ago.

Love pack hacker but I will go to my grave insisting that wearing slings on the front is impractical and goofy looking.
@PackHacker4 жыл бұрын
Hah - no problem Julio 🙂 - we've found the "practicality" of wearing a sling in the front comes into play when 1) accessing gear without taking the sling off and 2) wearing a sling in the front with a larger & slower-to-access travel bag on our backs. Of course, YMMV! - Tom
