That Peter Mckinnon sling bag has some nice touches that other slings dont have!!! I feel like all cameras should have that ND filter built-in...will come in handy in many situations Another great video!! :)

Have you considered buying a camera cube or two and using the tomtoc as a camera bag

no not really, i just have enough camera bags to choose from that i dont really have to bother making the tomtoc another one. i think it could work though, the main compartment is very spacious to hold a medium size ish cube.

I see you've the Wandrd Rouge sling. Can that fit horizontally inside your Tomtoc backpack?

About the Tomtoc backpack I don't know if this is a good question for a travel backpack, but would this backpack be okay for everyday use? I'm in postgraduate degree and always carry a pencil case, a plastic pouch, a sketchbook (art studies) and a laptop with its hefty charger, I suppose if I tightened the straps it would be much less bulky and meet these needs. My main concern would be its durability, given its daily use, while also having a backpack for long travels like an all in one backpack.

it should work with your stuff for daily use and you're right about the straps would make it more compact. Now durability wise, I can't really comment on that. I guess it all depends on how you take care of the bag like where you put it down etc. at the end of the day, for its price, i think it is a pretty good buy. hope that helps!

the backpack can go to the overhead bin but not under the seat, will be too big.

What are the inner dimensions of the main compartment?

entire bag is 20.5 x 13 x 8.66 inches so I would assume that the main compartment would be about 1-2 inches smaller, hope that helps!

Like that mckinnon sling inside the backpack? If that's what you meant, it will fit but then you wont have any space to put anything else as it is not really designed to have that sling inside.

hows the tomtoc? ive seen reviews of straps and sides getting ripped off

mine is still holding up but I can confirm that quality is not that great. Definitely needs more care than my other backpacks if I want it to last.
