I don't use my rolling suitcase for most trips anymore, but gosh darn, I totally would love to have those rubber wheel covers. Sometimes I had to catch a bus to the airport at like 2am and the noise of my rolling luggage at night was obnoxious and I felt sorry for whoever had to hear my rolling... The surface near my house is just very uneven and super noisy for any harder suitcase wheels. They see me rollin... they hatin'... I'd say no to any other product tho. I'd love to see video on clothing brands - something that has right materials, but is from a cheaper/unknown brand than big names.

Hey Lauren! Hey Tom! So, what I will say is that I don't really care so much about bargain items so much. Lauren and I had this discussion when I visited HQ. I prefer to purchase and invest in quality for the long term, reduce waste, and encourage re-use. But what I will say is that watching you both interact completely off script is the only thing PackHacker has been missing. Its cool to just hear these ad-hoc conversations around products by two people experts in the industry. Great video! I hope you all area doing great!

Love the video. I had the suitcase wheels on a recent trip to Japan and found they have a flaw - if your wheels are close to (but above) the minimum size recommended, the rubber will rotate at a different rate to the wheel. This means the rubber will work its way off your wheel. I lost 1 in the arrival airport, and the remainder shortly after. That said, they'd probably work well if your suitcase has bigger wheels

So I bought similar zipper "repair" kit and they worked great for the broken beanbag chair zipper I had. The "handle" or tag or whatever its called part of the zipper broke off and couldn't get enough leverage to unzip otherwise. The zipper thing made it so much easier. Are they great no. But work in a pinch. Probably could have used a heavy duty safety pin or plyers but this is a slightly nicer quick cheap fix. Love the way that suitcase looks. That sling is going to go from $6 to $16 😂 Great video… fun to watch. I shop on TEMU for knick knacks like zipper pulls, velcro cord organizers, spray bottles, and an array of pouches. Haven’t been disapointed yet. I wouldn’t purchase anything more than $5 though. I will say that TEMU vendors do supply a lot of overpriced Amazon items… people buy them from temu for low and mark them up for Amazon resale… so theres that… a lot of items on Amazon quite litterally come from the same vendors.

As best I can tell, the sellers on TEMU are the same sellers on Wish, Ali Express, and, yes, Amazon. I’ve found some of the exact same products on Amazon for more money (in many departments, not just travel). I will agree with Tom about the sling and packable day pack, in that it’s worth trying to see if that kind of item is for you. (Although, not gonna lie, kinda like those rubber bands for the suitcase wheels. Don’t know how long they’d last against sidewalks and cobblestones though. Lol!) Didn't see comment here, but you totally put the last one on incorrectly. I get astonished of how cheap things are flushed into the market for a lot of different reasons, be it as a independent bagmaker myself knowing how much of work and time and materials are needed to get it done, and in this case how many people are required to. But 2 dollars? 6 dollars? i know little "small" brands sometimes go far beyond the limits of pricing their products and they are free to do it, but jeez 6 dollars? Multiply those human made goods by 4 or 5 and we could start talking other than labor issues.

I have zero interest in Temu or SHEIN. I’m even starting to reduce how much I order from Amazon unless it’s difficult to find the product locally (and I’ve never purchased Amazon Basics). That said, I ❤ the cheap €10 gray/silver reflective pack-into-its-pocket backpack I purchased on impulse at an Ale-Hop store in Barcelona last month. In fact, I even walked back to the store the next day and purchased another backpack-in-a-pocket plus a gray/silver reflective sport bag/duffle-in-a-pocket (complete with clip on shoulder/cross body strap and a luggage handle/trolley sleeve). My SIL loved my gray/silver reflective backpack so much I gave her the second one I bought. These packable super lightweight bags come in a few other bright/reflective colors, too, all at €10 each. I like the gray/silver one because the color is subtle during the day, and super visible at night. The Ale-Hop website seems like it’s a business located in Spain, but there is an option to view/order in various languages, including English. I have not ordered from the website, but would consider ordering these items if the shipping to the US isn’t too high. I wasn’t very interested in the other items in the store, though I did purchase one other very usefully item for each of my family members - head phone earbud cleaning tools. Cheap, but much more effective than a toothpick, cotton bud, or a dental pick. IDK how durable these bags are long term - they may fail if packed much too full or with very heavy items, but I found them very useful for transporting my travel clothes to/from a Barcelona laundromat and for holding my favorite travel souvenirs - a few kilos of hand-dyed and luxury fiber yarn. At night the reflective fabric is a great safety feature while walking around, even if the bag is empty. I plan to include at least the back pack (and maybe also the sport bag) in my luggage on future urban travel adventures as they are so lightweight and pack up so small.

Before I had learned more about the company, I had ordered some items from them for a trip on an airline I had never been on before. They were the only place I could find a backpack that would fit the personal item req'd for Aer Lingus (just different enough from any other airline I had ever flown on before - and smaller than any others I researched but had not flown with before). I had looked in all the stores in my area, on Amazon and some of the sites for products you guys have discussed here before. Nothing! I was able to get one for myself and one each for my 2 daughters that would work for us to travel our usual carry-on only style. I also got a pair of graduated compression socks, and a foot hammock. It was all really great quality and we still use the backpacks daily. Since recent information has come to light about their company practices, would I continue to order from them? Not unless I had no other option for a necessary item, and even them I would try and make due with something comparable from another retailer. It's unfortunate, but this is what happens when you want a bargain basement price on goods. No one is policing companies like this when they can get what they want at the lowest possible price.

Great video PH, keep it up! Everyone shitting on this video because it's Temu, yet will happily spend $1000's on Amazon. You are not better than anyone, stop acting like you are doing good by shopping somewhere else and paying 10x the price for the same exact product.
@EverythingIsPhotogenic9 ай бұрын
No one is acting "better than anyone." Temu"s business practices involve deliberately selling products at a loss to gain market share. This forces small businesses (Amazon is not the only competitor) to compete in a manipulated market. Temu isn't in it for the consumer, they are in it for the long term valuation of their brand. The prices they market are not sustainable for the manufacturers and suppliers to cover overhead, even on cheap goods. And it will not be the long-term price for Temu, as once they have the market share, they won't continue to operate at a loss. The consequence is that they will train consumers to believe that the value of these goods is much lower than it is and they will come to demand it everywhere, all while remaining frustrated with low wages in the workforce and poor quality control. MSRPs are intended to make a profit, yes... that's how capitalism works... but if you truly think Amazon or other retailers are taking a 10X markup on most of their goods, you lack a fundamental understanding of economics. Do a mere 10 minutes of research, people with no skin in this game have done a lot of the work for you. They have nothing to gain from badmouthing Temu, neither do the commenters here. It's principle.

@@EverythingIsPhotogenic Thinking that ordering from Temu or any other affordable option is inherently wrong is a mindset that's deeply rooted in classism. Here's why: 1. Financial Accessibility: Not everyone has the same financial means. What might seem like a trivial expense to some could be a significant investment for others. Ordering from affordable options like Temu might be the only feasible choice for individuals who are on a tight budget or facing financial constraints. 2. Diverse Circumstances: People come from various backgrounds and circumstances. Assuming that everyone can afford to shop from high-end brands or luxury stores overlooks the realities faced by many individuals. Some people prioritize spending their money on essentials like rent, bills, or healthcare, leaving little room for splurging on expensive items. 3. Judgment-Free Choices: Every individual has the right to make choices that align with their budget and priorities without facing judgment. Whether someone chooses to order from Temu or a luxury brand, it's important to respect their decisions and refrain from imposing personal biases or societal standards. 4. Breaking Stereotypes: Classist attitudes perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce social divides. By dismissing affordable options as inferior or "wrong," we contribute to a culture that marginalizes individuals based on their economic status. It's crucial to challenge these biases and promote inclusivity and understanding instead. Ultimately, it's essential to recognize that consumer choices are deeply intertwined with personal circumstances, and judging others based on their shopping preferences only serves to perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Let's strive to foster empathy, respect, and acceptance towards diverse perspectives and circumstances.

@@bambino5912 Interesting you have the feeling to protect Temu in all comments. Anyways, I know what you are referring to, but there is indeed a difference between Amazon and Temu. Amazon has 3 ways on selling products on their platform. Amazon as the retailer only works with trusted brands, whereas on Amazon as a marketplace indeed Chinese companies can offer their product. Temu sees themselves as a cheap fast-product company pushing overconsumption with gamification, additional rewards when referring, etc. All the retailers are engaging in some environmental project, whereas Temu advertises with planting trees through an organization for which you as a customer can donate some cents to. For me, that's a little too less.

I have two of these and they work great, but you have to use them the right way. Amazon sells a number of different brands and there are videos that demonstrate the use. And no, I would never buy from Temu. It's a cheap Chinese company and I don't support that economy.

Well I think there's always the in betweens. Not need to be all or nothing.

A lot of items like these you can get for free or buy cheaply and better quality at secondhand shops. Better for the local economy, the environment, and your wallet. In fact, I’d love to see @PackHacker do a thrift store challenge and outfit themselves for a 1-2 week trip.

@@ginafuller1654 they don't even disclose that they get review units, when I asked them to just disclose it for transparency purpose their reply was like "trust me bro" you think they will listen to your thrift store challenge? Lol

I have Global entry and never travel with liquids except for prescriptions. I have never found a need to carry so I buy what i need. I have traveled to many places like Nepal , India and all over Europe so I dont see the point to carrying liquids

The 100ml bottle at Temu is $2 while the one they like and recommend is sold 3 for $26! lol

Buying some sh#@t stuff on temu for 50 cent = selling your personal information to them for 50 cent. Please don't do that, be careful about your personal data...

Boycotting Temu. It seems questionable.

Do you also boycott Amazon?
@zkfoster9 ай бұрын
I ordered a couple $6 knockoff “Trtl” travel neck pillows cus there’s no way I’d pay $60 on Amazon for the name brand version. The ones I got feel very decent for the price but otherwise I have no other plans to use Temu again.

e commerce is in general huge impact for environment. However this cheap not lasting products only increase that impact because consumer can buy so much for so little. Most of this products will end very soon as garbage where meterials so cheap like some types of platic are harder to recycle or even have toxic agents.

Great video.. buying from temu is a bit of a gamble. you get some good finds occasionally but most of it is poor quality.
@se7enzee4449 ай бұрын
It's a gamble buying anything. That's why there so many returns. Only buy items that are rated 4.7 or hgiher and less than $20.

I have similar packing cubes I bought on Amazon and the two with the straps are useful but the rest of the set just doesn't make sense. I also have some of those zipper pulls I bought on Shien. They are OK for a temporary solution, like if you're travelling and your zipper breaks and you don't want to get a replacement until you get home but we tried using one to repair my husband's tablet bag and it broke after a week. I agree with you that TEMU would be good for people who are starting to travel and might not have money to invest in decent gear, but I think seasoned travelers should just stay away!

I use safety pin as back up zipper pull, always travel with a couple heavier duty ones

No way would I buy cheap gear that is engineered to fail and fill up landfills with even more plastic. Yuck!

I think for a ton of these cheap products, ill bring them to travel and toss them after I use them so I can pack more on the way back

I’d rather pay more for quality. The last thing this planet needs is more throwaway plastic rubbish. I dread to think how bad the working conditions are in their factories.

Lol. Look at all the butthurt subscribers. This isn't an airport, there's no need to announce your departure. 😂. Honestly, this is a much needed take. We know chinese knockoffs are bad but it's entertaining.
