I am totally with you on the handwritten thing! I definitely respond more to things in terms of remembering or interpreting them when they're not on a computer screen! Such a cute selection of stationery, glad to see someone else gets as excited about it as me haha! :L

I've never thought to look up stationery hauls.... may lose a day to this now. But I /love/ what's in my bags so this was fun to watch. I'm a fineliner and Moleskine diary devotee too! Hope the diss is going well.

Leslie Castro "It'd be cool if you could do a blog/time lapse of you working on your dissertation! I love watching people work!" I like this idea! I really don't know what is involved with something like that. I'd give anything to be in school, so I have to live through others!

Ooh, I love stationery videos. That folder full of plastic sleeves is a great idea! I don't like using binders either, so things just end up in piles and stuck inside books.

This was really nice and helpful! I'm doing a history course at uni this autumn, which I'm really excited for. I did a course in literature and film which I just finished, but that one was mostly just for fun, I will probably take the history course a bit more serious. I need to buy some nice stationary now. I can feel that that will also become an obsession.. I literally just bought a moleskine yesterday, I'm so excited to use it! And I just found out about bullet journaling, so I'm excited to try that out as well

Totally share the love of stationery here! And as I am currently still living in Japan, I am basically in stationery heaven. ;) I will definitely pick up a few things before I go home again. Just saying washi tape and cute sticky flags... and I already bought my new calendar, which starts in September and I am soo hyped for it. It`s black with gold lettering, very classic looking. Haah... :D

I loved this video. Everything you own is so cute! I'm a sucker for notebooks and pens and just anything organizational. Watching this made me want to go out and buy some Paperchase. :D What was that one folder you were mentioning that had the clear pages inside to put paper in? I didn't quite catch the name or where you got it from. Im surprised your backpack hasn't broken your back yet. It looked quite heavy.

This video combines my two weaknesses - what's in my bag videos and (Paperchase) stationery. :P I'm at a similar stage as you- MA student, stayed at the same uni for postgrad, and it's weird to think that it'll all be over in a month. Equally weird is the knowledge that after that's done I won't ever have to carry around quite a similar collection of stuff in my own bag. Can't say I'll be sorry to leave behind some of the anthologies though!

Those notebooks are gorgeous! What brand are they? Also, I will be writing my Thesis this year, and was wondering if you could give me some tips on how best to organize note and things to prepare, what have you found works best for you?

I love those notebooks! Are they hardcover? I agree with you on the binders. I'm currently trying to catalog my old work in binders and its proving to be a hassle.
@JeansThoughts9 жыл бұрын
wellthatsjustduckie Yeah :) really sturdy. I definitely thought I was alone in binder hatred so I'm glad to hear other people find them problematic too haha.

This is fantastic! As a Scottish student myself your videos are dead helpful! How is your dissertation coming along? What's the title of it? I understand if you cant say for plagiarism reasons and stuff haha! Really loved this video, but where did you get that jotter you showed us in the last few minutes of the video? I usually get the red rhino type jotters, it's like being back in school sometimes though, I'd quite like a jotter that didn't make me feel like I was back in high school haha!

Aaah the woes of an arts student. I made one of the science kids in my halls of residence carry my bag during assignment season after he'd taken the Mick about literature not being a 'proper' degree and let's just say he soon stopped, especially as it was currently holding half the library. Good luck for you dissertation.... you're so close ! What are your plans for after ?

Oh my god. How has it only just occurred to me that I can carry eye drops and moisturiser and lip balm and things around in a makeup bag instead of just chucking them in my backpack and hoping for the best... That sounds incredibly obvious now, but since I very rarely wear makeup to uni, I never even considered it. I'll never have to fear the lotion explosions again. Thanks!

what did u study. I had one notebook that i took to college to take notes for all my classes and i always wrote in black pen. When i got home I had 1 notepad for each subject that I used to colour code according to the section in the notepad.
@JerryMarbas9 жыл бұрын
wow Im using the *exact same* bic mechanical pencil! They come in different colours and as you held up the red one... I looked my red one laying right here in front of me ;D I also use yellow highlighter and handwrite *everything*. Almost no one I know handwrites anything any more so that is a rare trait these days. I also write notes in the blank spaces in technical books I read but am running out of space so I was thinking of writing things in a separate book. I like the way you think Jean! :) I didnt laugh at your apple π joke though.

I hope you don't mind the question but do you work with the original texts in ancient Greek or do you use the translations only? I've always wondered 😄

You look really relaxed here with only a month to go! Do you have one big thesis to hand in or has it been partly ongoing assessment? You've inspired me to go back to studying a bit. I've been a fan of lifelong learning, but sometimes life gets in the way! Thanks for another interesting video.
@JeansThoughts9 жыл бұрын
Julie Quick Haha it is a mirage, I think I'm on track so that helps but you should see me in the evenings, that is when panic kicks in :). It's a thesis, I'll hand it in on the 14th and hopefully not have completely screwed it up, it's difficult doing all this work on one 15,000 word piece and not knowing how you're doing :S. I'm so glad, I completely agree with you, I hope I can keep studying new things here and there as long as possible.
@juliequick55269 жыл бұрын
Wishing you all the best with this and your passion for your subject shines through! Whenever I get really stressed, it repeat a one word mantra "peace" - to myself only of course, I don't want to be the weird middle aged woman who everyone avoids!

Can you please do a video on how you take notes on your mac book pro?? I'm looking in to getting one but is it really worth the price?
@JeansThoughts9 жыл бұрын
cherilynncrosby I don't take lecture notes on my laptop, like I said I am hand writer still haha, I just use microsoft word on it to write my essays etc. I had to buy word to put on it though. I think the benefits of the macbook pro are they have fantastic battery life, they rarely get viruses, they come with iMovie which I use to edit all of my videos and also I have never owned anything other than apple computers so I've never considered buying anything else aha. I know that absolutely none of my friends who used to use non apple laptops have regretted it when they switched to the macbook.

BeautyChemCam This is my second dissertation/thesis :). I wrote one in the final year of my undergraduate degree and am now writing a second one as the final module of my postgraduate masters. Can't stand hardback notebooks, they never open flat and make it difficult to use so you skip every other page and waste half the book. The design does look nice though.
