Jean, your makeup is just onnnn point! As always, you look so gorgeous. I now have a new updated back pack video to watch - YES! You seemed as if you thought the whole video was pointless, but I think if people are like me, I mostly watch your university as organization videos. I'm currently competing my Masters MRP (what y'all call dissertation), and from the day I began my program, I've looked to your university videos for that jolt of inspiration. In your old backpack vid, you said that new stationaries encourage you to do work. Your vids are like new stationaries for me - I'm obsessed with them (thats not weird at all 😭). I want to pursue a PhD, and of course, you're my motivation. So please don't be annoyed by our requests for the same thing - we just love you! We also respect if these videos aren't your interest. Absolutely never annoyed! I just didn't want the video to be a disappointment as I just wasn't sure what it would add since the last video as there is no radical change/special PhD backpack tips but I still enjoyed chatting about it. I always enjoy chatting uni and I'm really glad there are people who like you who really like chatting with me!

I wish I was a PhD student in the U.K. and didn’t have to take classes anymore. But here in the US, we spend three years doing coursework before beginning our own work. Your notes are so organized and neat. Mine are so messy lol. I carry hand cream now that it’s winter.

Is the undergraduate/postgraduate shorter? Maybe not, from what I know in the US you do lots of general classes at the beginning right? Where as we start straight in 1st year of uni studying our chosen subject only. It's so different, the idea of doing classes now completely baffles me. Don't look at my handwriting up close aha, it's not incredibly legible. Everything looks neater in colourful pens ;P.

also just a tip... don't put the spare pen into the pencil case. just leave it in that front pocket of the backpack... you're gonna forget your pencil case at home one day (everyone does at some point) and are going to cheer with joy when you realize you do have a spare pen with you!

Aha makes sense, but I never take my pencil case out of my bag. I have a jar on my desk and at least one loose pen in every handbag.

Given what your PhD topic is, have you read Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card? I'm curious. I loved the idea behind speaking the death in that way, it was very different from most funeral speaking.

Hi ! I laugh when you speak about french books, I'm french student of history and I have the some problem with english books. But I think my worst experiment was a german book about egyptian religion during Roman empire, I closed book after 10 pages ! Thank you for this video and your channel ! Sorry for mistakes

thanks for doing this video! Do you also teach any classes (or will you during your PhD time)? All of my friends who are doing PhDs are also giving classes, but they are all full-time PhD students and have a full (or at least half a) research position, so I'm not sure if the class teaching is part of the PhD thesis or the research position

I enjoyed this Video - I wish you the Best on you writing your Thesis. I know this takes a lot of time and hard work. I didn’t understand what you are getting your Degree in? I didn’t hear what you said it was. Do you go to your College Library or your Public Library? Library is a good place to study cause it’s really quiet and peaceful. Are those two books for your classes or are they just used to write your Thesis? Enjoy your Day!

Like I mentioned the only class I have is Ancient Greek, when doing a PhD here there are no classes, just research, research, research aha ^_^. They are for my thesis.
