I like that idea. What brand do you use?

That, or one of those $10 USB HDMI adapters. So you can just use your laptop/tablet/phone as a display. They're recognized as a generic webcam. Depending on your use case.

Really can’t argue with the Scout Pro 3. I’ve got one in my install case and it’s so handy. I’ve tried cutting down my bag to just the necessities and I’m still struggling not having testers on my person all the time haha. I’ve recently upgraded to the Fluke CableIq but I’m not keen on keeping that in my install bag since that’s the difference between losing 80 bucks or 1,800 bucks.

Like your videos. I’m an IT guy based in London UK it’s nice seeing what other techs around the would have. I also carry a multi meter with me as well. I tend to also carry a dumb 5 or 8 port gigabit switch with me.

I actually carry a multi meter too. For some reason I forgot to add that in and found out to late. You can see the round carrying case appears on the left when I talk about the lineman handset. Thanks for watching!

I use a pockethernet almost everyday, specially on messy cabinets, mislabeled, etc. I connect it to the wall jack an via cdp or lldp i can see on wich port and wich switch it is connected to, very handy.

I've started keeping a magnetic back power strip and it's come in handy alot of times recently.

Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it. You have introduced me to the two bag idea LOL. Not sure why I have not done that yet. As far as your tools, I would suggest some upgrades to you RJ45 crimper, keystone jack crimper, and termination panels to match. I have converted from tools similar to yours to these. For the RJ45 I use the Klein Tools VDV226-110. This is a passthrough crimper which allows ease of NOT having to make sure all the pairs of wires are completely at the end inside the RJ45. Keeping in mind that these use special passthrough RJ45s. Next the keystones I use are the Hubbell keystone jacks and the termination panel to match, but the big upgrade is the crimper for these keystones. The crimper I use is the Greenlee PA8111 jack terminator. You simply lay the wires in the jack matching the color code and slide the whole jack in there and one squeeze the whole jack is crimped. These are the tools that made my job so much easier. I hope this helps and thanks again for your videos.

I carry the iodd 2541 in my backpack. It is an external storage drive that is a all in one virtual DVD drive and storage medium. It's like YUMI (multiboot creator), but from my experience it is easier to use, has more functionality, and is more reliable. Mine holds multiple ISO's ranging from different Linux Distros, Windows OS's, and repair specific ISO's (Trinity Rescue Kit). It can hold multiple VHD's to boot into pretty easily too! I'm more on the sysadmin side, but I could imagine this would be useful for Network Techs also. Thanks for showing off what you got and taking the time to make a quality video to share with everyone. Does the iodd work with secure boot? I just load up ventoy on a usb flash drive, which also supports secure boot.

@@magicmarkerish Yes it does, also supports virtual USB drives which helps. Ventoy is pretty solid too, I use it once in awhile. I like their documentation and it has some pretty rad features that IODD is lacking. However, I still prefer IODD for its legacy compatibility, emulators, extensibility, and storage capacity options. In the end It depends on the use case.
