How do you guys do this? Every month a new 10/10?!

Ok so I thought I was SO clever for catching that Colony of Slippermen musical quote, until I read all the other comments. But at least I can be the first to mention the cover to Starcastle's self-titled album on the front of the case. Much respect for that obscure prog reference, Cherry Audio!

ARP Pro soloist. It's the monophonic synth of "The colony of slippermen" from The lamb lies down on Broadway album. Genesis 1974. They tried to change some notes but it's there. It was a strange mono synth with tricks on key response. Let's see... It

The flight cases are labelled "26" and "27". There have been 25 major products released by CA since they began with Voltage Modular. So might there be two new products dropping on 21st November? I'm going with Pro-Soloist for #27, due to the obvious Slippermen quote. Or could it be a diversion from a sneaky RMI Electra-Piano reference (used by both Tony Banks and Rick Wakeman)? Is flight case #26 holding a Mellotron? The round yellow sticker is a "Musicians' Union Says Keep Music Live!" reference. The Musicians' Union didn't like the Mellotron. Or the Fairlight CMI. Or the Linn Drum. Or...

Ok, you convinced me there will be two of them snd one will be the Pro Soloist. (Although the ARP-2700 was actually the Soloist, not Pro-Soloist - which was 2701.). I’m not convinced the other is the Melloron, simply because Cherry has been working so hard developing so many instruments and matching the mellotrons out there would take a world of work. I’m going to guess the Roland RS-202, something from the RMI family is a good guess too.

Arp Pro Soloist!!! Having lived my entire life in a recovery community for lost Genesis fans, a sort of Colony Of Slippermen, you couldn't have given me a more welcome gift than an emulation of the Arp Pro Soloist!!!😋😋😋😍😍😍

Could it possibly be the Pro Soloist??. I must search for a plug-in version of one every 4 months for the past 10 years. Pretty please!

There is already one, but 32 bit only and not updated for ages, so really hoping that Cheery Audio have emulated it. They did the Moog Taurus a little while back, which meant I could retire the 32 bit VST I had for that. I think then that will be me 32 bit free

I know that was a Genesis reference, but incidentally it also reminded me of Peter Bardens, and I noticed the Camel sticker on the case. Ah, whatever this is, it's gonna be good :)

Synth solo similar to the Genesis song, "Colony of Sleeperman", album "Lamb Lies Down On Broadway". I know, it's going to be a synth based on a Synclavier II. (I'm kidding).

The 2 crates on wheels show #26 a larger vertical hight synth? and #27 a smaller keyboard controller?? Could it be a large Moog Modular system that Kieth Emerson used??? Did Camel ever use a large Moog Modular system? Did Genesis? Don't know?
@derekcook316611 ай бұрын
Hopefully a Pro-soloist, which is on my wish list. Demo has the sound and style of Tony Banks from Colony of Slippermen. Will be reaching for the wallet for sure if this is the case! Some people say the video is too obvious a clue, but maybe it is a double bluff, and I cannot think of anything else that sounds like the synth sound in the video!

No, CA seems to be dancing around that one for some reason. I ended up testing and buying the TAL J-8. It's a great Jup8 clone, and frankly, even if CA came out with a competitor at this point I'd have to think twice about making the switch. The TAL UI is quite good, and the sound is there. It's one of only two non-CA VSTIs that I use regularly these days. (The other one is Geforce's Oddity 3.)
